Burlock May still be my favorite dwarf mini. It is the first I ever painted.

Engineers Expeditionary Forces sounds INCREDIBLY interesting! Really curious to see what the list has going for it. I have a "Dwarf Steam Tank" built for some time, would be extra cool to see it getting some suprise rules. Either way, can't wait for this one!

This has livened up a dull damp saturday! Cant wait to get my hands on one and get some dwarf minis too. A tank would be excellent, but liking the sound of an engineer list regardless.

Thorigrim’s father was in fact named Alrik (High King Alrik), Burlock Dammison is the head of the Guild of Engineers known as a staunch traditionalist (but in his youth he was actually a firebrand for innovation) and King Ungrim Ironfist is obviously the slayer king of Karak Kadrin. Each of these characters existed in WHFB, these are going to be their younger versions

Thorgrims Uncle and Predecessor as High King was named Alrikson by different dwarfen sourcebooks from 6th and 7th edition. I think it very very likely that GW presents a younger version of Thorgrim like a younger Ungrim. Title as Karl of the Damnaz Kron make this very obvious and and i am very excited to a new modell because as a Thain Thorgrim will be not carried to battle on the throne of the High King.
Yep I agree, it’s was just the name Ulleksson that confused me.
Alriksson was his uncle, Ullek may very well be the name of his father
Burlock had rules and an absolutely fantastic mini back in 4th edition. He most famously has a BIONIC (Burlok's Ingenious Offensive New-matic Integrated Constrictor Arm) Arm and some fantastic (but brief) shared backstory with the Magnificent Sven (Hasselfriesian) himself, inventer of the Voltsvagn - who stared eponymously in the 2nd Edition narrative campaign. That gives Burlock some strong Warhammer lineage, back before the Old World itself had truly solidified - even if he wasn't actually present at the time.
He had some rules on the GW website in 5th or 6th edition, from what I recall. But was replaced by his son by 8th edition and the times that shall not be named.
Thank you that’s amazing, I missed the army books in 4th edition, I’d gone off to uni I think by the time the came out, and the 4th edition Dwarf one is the only Dwarfs one I’ve never owned. I think that’s why I didn’t recognise him.
Burlock is my favorite dwarf mini and the first that I ever painted.
Nothing against Burlok, but the bit with Sven contradicted Sven's original backstory at least a bit. So like everything else in The Magnificent Sven he got changed. Not as much as the Norse turning into Chaos Marauders, Berserkers becoming Slayers, Amazons and Pygmies disappearing all together, the Slann turning into occasional giant magical toads surrounded by lizards and dinosaurs etc but still changed. Even Halflings haven't resurfaced yet in TOW so only the Sea Elf is left as things stand...
I've never been really interested in dwarfs, I've nearly finished painting my 3rd full TOW army (I have bretonnia, troll horde and nearly done vamp counts) and now I'm becoming pretty keen on the stunty'z. Reckon I'll be joining you, espesh if these arcane journal lists look fun/cool

I am surprised that none of the two armies of infamy is a slayer one. I am guessing there will be some rule, perhaps for Ungrim, that allows Dwarf players to add doomseekers to their list, since they were already revealed at Adepticon.
Yeah I think that must be it, unless there’s an oddity related to the other lists, Slayer Engineers etc.
Was this from the eBay listing front and back covers? It could be a well executed fake. I'm not sure if this has been verified but it does give GW something to aspire to.
At the time I didn’t know where the leak was, but yes it’s from the eBay listing. I can confirm it’s real as well, definitely not a fake.

In retrospect it may be that it’s not needed. If taking Ungrim means you can have Slayers as core (maybe he buffs one unit as his guard or something), and they’re clearly going to give rules for the Doomseekers & Goblin Hewer, and maybe they can be taken as part of the Engineer army because of Malaki Makiasson.

Are we sure AoS is doing well? I think it is going so-so. Not a disaster, but not as good as the hype justified. They now got some competition in the shape of the Old World.
Competition? I have just been buying AOS models for TOW. Now I can buy TOW for TOW sometimes
No real idea if I’m honest, without any sales figures it would be impossible to tell. I’d like them both to do well, a successful GW means more money to invest.
We do know that AOS has sold more than Fantasy ever did, it had a very rocky start, but has done very well for them since.
I get a kick reading from AOs players, saying if they need to rebate their miniatures for the old world. That's funny.
I buy some AOS stuff only for old world and I’d hope GW recognises that people do this and there is some crossover in the sales figures

Certainly a very exciting leak isn’t it. Definitely a surprise that one of the infamy armies isn’t a slayer one but as you say perhaps having the character will allow slayers to be counted as core or something which would facilitate a somewhat slayer focused army
If they end up getting a new unit related to the royal clans list and if spearmen make a return that sounds like a chance to get fresh new kits which would be very exciting. Can’t wait to get my hands on loads of dwarfs and the book

@@MiniatureRealms I was in the city yesterday and thought about where the GW store used to be and the type of stock they had at the time. It was before they canned Fantasy and still had metal minis in blister packs. If I could walk into that shop now I could safely say I would buy up bags worth lol. Sadly time passes on and their current location is small and hardly stocks anything. Still reminiscing aside I would definitely buy some classic metal dwarfs when they do see their release either standard or MTO
No Slayer Army of infamy? Was that really to much to ask?
I guess they figured it could be covered by giving special rules to Ungrim, it’s not like Slayers have that many unit entries anyway. My expectation now is that he will unlock the Slayers as core.
With Bugman's Cart allready being revealed, and the Grudge Pony Cart potentially teased in the O&G Journal, I was very much expecting an expeditionary force for the Dwarfs. That said, I expected it to forgo warmachines in favour of rangers, miners and said carts - for a more mobile playstyle. Not sure what to expect from an Engineer themed expedition.

I think we will find out about Dwarfs very soon, in the next few weeks. Would love them to share the future release plans, they sometimes do that, but with all the logistics issues right now I think they will be loathed to do that.
You won’t see DE & Skaven news though sadly, they’re not supported armies in TOW. Hopefully in the next edition if we get one. Both their army lists are available as free downloads to TOW, but you can to source models from existing ranges or alternatives. Skaven are fine though, I’m working on some now, and all the new AOS goodness will come in very handy.
@@MiniatureRealms I know they said they wont get support. But I hope they will atleast do SOME tweaks. No new models but just... change a few words in the PDF. Especially DE seems to languish.
Well there’s hope there. They said at first they wouldn’t even do that, but the FAQ brought changes to the legacy armies as well.

I’m still wondering if GW is having an internal battle over the existing Dwarf models. I fully expected the Dwarfs to be dropped from Cities of Sigmar In AoS when they were included in TOW. There was that big rumor that they wanted to keep the product lines segregated, ostensibly to be able to track sales by game system. Which was supposedly why factions like Skaven and Vampire Counts were relegated to legends status.
Yeah I think there’s some of that that’s gone on, but that will be mostly resolved now (at least in terms of plans for this edition). There may be timing constraints to some TOW releases as we wait for thing to be replaced in the AOS range (or removed in the case of Beasts). I honestly thought they would remove Dwarfs from Cities as well, not sure why they kept them. But that decision must have been arrange, and they will be shared with AOS as they’re pictured in the Dwarf lists and release etc.
I think the delay now is logistics, stock and AOS 4.
Well we’re several hours into the release of Skaventide here in the States and it’s not sold out AND the queue system is off now, you can go straight into the order page. I guess they made more of these sets than they did the Kill Team box sets. 😁
@earnestwanderer2471 😂 That’s for sure. The only things they don’t sell out of are 40K & AOS launch boxes it seems. Though that just means they’re making a lot, doesn’t give us much insight into how well they’re selling Vs other games.

I sadly didn’t have those before I did the video, the back cover was clearer as well, would have had to spend so much time working it out. There were no rules in those other pages though, and all the artwork is from previous books (the airships are from the 8th edition big book I think).

Sitting in warehouses waiting for the people who decide the release schedules to give it the green light I guess. I think it will very likely be the next thing we see after AOS 4 has had its moment.

Yeah I can imagine, I’m an Empire player as well (at least I will be again). I think WoC or Beasts will be next after Dwarfs, so at this rate I’d say this year for one of those.
Dwarves are cool, but I’ve been waiting so long for any news about high elves
Yeah I really wish they’d share some kind of roadmap. My guess is a way off yet sadly, I’d put a lot of money on an evil faction after Dwarfs (to keep the balance), so that’s Beasts or Warriors.
@@MiniatureRealms We have Bretonnia, Dwarfs, Orcs and goblins, and tomb kings thus far. Thats 2 evil and 2 good. There are 3 good factions left but only 2 evil, so it's definitely within the realm of possibility that they release either WE, HE, or Empire, before the Beastmen or Chaos Warriors. I just hope they can pick up the release pace and also fill the out of stocks that still exist for the already-released armies. Most of the Bretonnian army outside of the starter kit models has been out of stock in the US since launch which is frustrating.
You’re spot on it definitely could be one of the good armies, I just feel (it’s purely a guess) that they will keep going good/evil in turn. Maybe Empire will break that and count as more of a civil warring faction. My money is on WoC next after Dwarfs.
@@MiniatureRealms yeah I don’t see high elves coming out for a while, as much as it pains me as they are my favourite faction and the one I had as a kid! I suppose with the release of the new Sigmar edition it might speed things up hopefully

I make a conscious effort not to get drawn into the hype about Leaks. Other people can do what they like but its not for me.
That’s fair enough. I’m excited about what’s on the back, for me that gets me thinking is a positive way about what’s to come and future plans. I also hope that the whole book doesn’t get leaked, especially now it’s obviously out in the wild, I’d rather wait and see now.
