I agree, any Transformer you have to take apart and put back together to change forms isn't a Transformer at all, they were like those human made Transformers in the Bayverse movies, at least if they had made sets of those ones then the transformations would be true, cause that's how the human made transformers changed.

It’s a shame as quickly as Kreo popped onto the scene they left while the tolerances of the parts should have been better the sets were fun and I won’t forget the memories of building some of my favorites like the Sentinel Prime set (and the minifigure breaking the same day I got it) and the Superion set
Kreo. The name sends shivers down my spine. My younger brother, a fool at the time, was about to mix the bins for Lego and non Lego. I could sense the impending doom as he dumped both containers into a horrid amalgam of bricks. The gravitational forces emitted from the resulting singularity had caused all bricks and small figures to drift into the dreaded pile. We are still recovering to this day.
I had no idea that they made so many of these things. My son and I thought we had a ton of them, but obviously we were barely scratching the surface. We got them cheap when Target was going bankrupt.

Great video. After getting out of toy collecting all together, my son was just 5 when we attended BotCon 2011 together when Kre-O was introduced. It was a fun way for us to have Father/Son time together and collecting the sets was cool. When the Kreon mini figs came out I became obsessed with getting them all, even the exclusives. We did pretty good, even getting several sets not released in the U.S. (first 2 waves of warriors for instance, and much of the RiD 15 line only released in Canada). By the end, we had all the standard sets released and over 400 unique Kreon Mini figs. However there were prototypes (like warriors wave 3 & 4), and a few other exclusives I never got, but we had an awesome display for a while. Just this year though, my son turned 18 and had gone on to other interests, so he agreed we could sell our collection. It was fun while it lasted. I would hope that LEGO proper might re-introduce TF mini-figs at some point, but doubtful.
Thanks for indirectly encouraging me to dig up my old kre-o sets from a giant lego bin I have. I rebuilt the Grimstone combiner, albeit with some kreons missing (had to sacrifice some lego minifigures for the combine mode), and that Mirage and Optimus Prime two pack. Certainly brought back a lot of memories, as cheesy as that sounds.
kre-o had such good ideas for the sets, a huge shame a few weren't able to be released but its cool that we got as much sets/figures as we did, I personally had the bank and construction site sets which i kinda ended up selling last year (minus 3 figures i still have and a couple left over parts lol) but i do really want to start a collection again, but specifically the kreons as they are pretty cool and imo are a lot better than what lego would do (i mean what other minifigures can transform like that) but also its a fun artstyle also thanks for including the pic i sent on twitter, i was not expecting to see that haha

So, when Hasbro runs out of ideas for G1, I guess they will have no choice but to start dressing up their characters as gangsters, ninja and cowboys. Who needs new characters anyway.
It’s almost ironic that Hasbro made their own LEGOs, only to ditch their LEGOs in favor of partnering with LEGOs for Transformers toys many years later. It’s like Hasbro gave up and realized that LEGO’s the chosen one.
Great video! Went in on the series hard. Biggest disappointment for me was they never came out with a 1986 yearbook set --would love to have had a Unicron, etc.
I love lego transformers alot. That why i got into kreo. Although there designs were hideous. The heads of the kreons was the major reason i loved them. I build my own lego g1 accurate possible and sometimes transformable transformers and the head were the pieces i needed since lego didn't do transformers. I wish they were still popular now.
For a couple of years, like 2015-17 I had an obsession with the transformers, my parents got me many different things and presents over the span of those years. I loved them, I spent countless hours with the small combiner sets and the larger transforming figures.
I didn’t even know they continued for so long. I always thought they stopped around the time RiD came out as those were the only sets my local Toysrus stocked. Pity I’d have loved to have gotten some of those manga versions.
What's funny is, the missing member of superion, menasor and defensor all share the same missing member as combiner war initially release Bruticus also missed blast off, which is also somewhat accurate because we didn't get a shuttle blastoff from hasbro

My Battleship, Star Trek, GI Joe/Cobra & TRANSFORMER KREOs are right in my Custom Lego Castle Greyskull, Snake Mountain, Cobra Temple of Darkness... Not the crappy builds, but the PERFECT Minifigs. Just those little ball joints are getting a little loose & some have broken.
Man i wish they bring back this brand i remember when i was younger i wanted the figures so badly especially megatron but i only got the big built optimus prime n the smaller one with bumble bee
Kreo did some good I really appreciate the kreons aspect of the transformers. However the biggest issue with kreo in my eyes was that the sets didn’t transform which defeats the purpose of transformers. If you wanted to have a robot mode you would essentially have to break the set down and rebuild it again which was a pain. If you wanted both robot and vehicle you would essentially have to buy two of each set. I think if they had did what Lego had done with the Optimus prime and bumblebee where they actually transformed it would have done better
I realized that you missed a pack of 4+1 secret kreon pack. As far as I know there was a batch with Optimus, Sentinel, Megatron, Soundwave and secret Starscream and the second batch with Mirage, Bumblebee, Jazz, Red Alert and secret Skywarp. This was absolute banger if you were a kid with low budget and wanted the main cast of transformers.

I thought Kre-o had died. But didn’t know existed in 2015 at all. Never saw them in stores every again tbh
Man i wish they bring back this brand i remember when i was younger i wanted the figures so badly especially megatron but i only got the big built optimus prime n the smaller one with bumble bee
Man, I remember growing up with KRE-O.
It’s sad that it couldn’t stick around for more time because of the closing of Toys-R-Us.
Oh I used to have these, they're awesome
The mini figures look cool
Kreo did some good I really appreciate the kreons aspect of the transformers. However the biggest issue with kreo in my eyes was that the sets didn’t transform which defeats the purpose of transformers. If you wanted to have a robot mode you would essentially have to break the set down and rebuild it again which was a pain. If you wanted both robot and vehicle you would essentially have to buy two of each set. I think if they had did what Lego had done with the Optimus prime and bumblebee where they actually transformed it would have done better
I thought no one else knew about this until now.
Takara made a G1 styled brick built optimus prime that could actually transform even before LEGO Optimus prime, but he has one eye and he’s very rare.
@@zeroenjoyer2550 I've known about them, but they were also repacks, so I mixed that in when mentioning some of the unmentioned sets (like human kreons)
i really would like to collect as many as these as possible and create my own MTMTE/LL crew. and somehow make a lego ver of the ship. i really wish kreo did this offically
I got the HQ on Super Clearance just for the Big Autobot Symbol, i used with Every Orange Lego i could find (sorry Milano) for a Sweet Autobot Shuttle!!
Great editing. XD
I remember I had the lockdown and AOE prime weapon sets they were the best
I had the starscream set back in 2013 and I promise you I do not remember it looking like that 💀
Did you have to completely disassemble the sets in BTR?
These guys are so strange XD Some of them look awesome and some just look wweeeeiiirrrddd.
Excellent, now you should cover bot shots
Loved the Kreons
