Polo - the bit with the fireworks - the lead singer Till is a former pyrotechnics engineer and while they have their own guys now, he was able to design a lot of the pyro's in the shows in the earlier days (up to 2000). Having seen them live once i can confirm YES the pyros are real and the flames are intense even 50 ft away.
I mean, I'm female and German, but even my testosterone goes through the roof. This performance will forever be legendary. Goosebumps every single time. Where language fails, music speaks.
As I understand it it was all real except for the actual explosions behind, and the lightning from the keyboard. I thought those 2 affects were added post production. Also isn’t he beyond just a regular pyrotechnician? He’s like certified master right?
Till Lindemann (the singer) has crippling stage fright so he got his pyrotechnics license to be able to design and implement the fireballs and explosions Rammstein uses in its performance so that they take the crowd's attention off him. Seen them live three times, and each time they're bigger and badder than the last. Totally awesome band, seeing them live should be on everyone's list, whether they like metal or not.
actually he got his pyro license because they disliked the working standarts of foreign pyro technicians. Ever since there was an accident in their early years (i think 1996) they did all their pyro on their own
The Rammstein’s phenomenon is that they got popular singing mostly in German language. The fact that French people memorised their lyrics in German is another amazing thing too:)
@@19900frenky No, probably mainly french people, and most of them know only the lyrics of the song and nothing about german language. But in fact lots of french people neither speak english and also listen to english songs so...
Will we see a Ukraine crowd price a Band from Russia in 80 years ? The actual war is basically the same crap than the more than 30 Wars between Germany and France since the Middleage till 1940 ...
'I'm close regarding your age ;-) and saw many metal acts live who have also gorgeous stage performance (Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Slayer, Kreator, AC/DC, Ministry, Solstafir, a.o.). But Rammstein's performance is extraordinary, so intense and unique. Saw them a couple of times. They also played live as headliner at Wacken. That was very unusual at that time. Many classical", traditional metalheads hated it. But their gig was one of the best live experiences I made. The crowd was going so crazy. And yes, the pyro is real, no CGI ;-)
Rammstein is god-tier not just for their music, but BECAUSE their stage performances are always with a ton of pyrotechnics. The lead singer, Till Lindemann, is also a Pyrotechnician and he personally works on most of the stage performances by planning them out. They know exactly the vibe they want, and they get results
Greetings from Germany! Yes, this is their most famous song. The fact that the mostly French (!) audience in Paris knows the text and rhythm by heart is an impressive testimony of the fame of this song. I believe it cannot be sung in English as every time the double meaning of "have" (hast) and "hate" (hasst) plays a role. This ambiguity in the verbs at the start, which are actually written differently but sound the same, is key to the song. And the meaning keeps changing. At the beginning "Du hast" sounds incomplete like "You have" (what), then "Du has(s)t mich" sounds like "You hate me" . Then "Du hast mich gefragt." (You have asked me.) Essentially it is about wedding vows and as in a relationship sometimes love an hate may be close to each-other, this is an awesome expression. It goes on with "Du hast mich gefragt, und ich habe nichts gesagt." (You have asked me, and I said nothing.) Then "Willst Du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu sein?" (Will you be faithful until death does you part?) "NEIN!" (NO!) Basically criticizing the concept of a lifelong relationship, where vows are supposed to bind you and your partner together for life. An awesome song and presentation with a simple text, but deep meaning. Loving it.
That was the most complicated way to describe the issue I have ever seen but at the same time I couldn't have done it better myself. But I guess that's just the beauty of our language: even our wordplays are serious af! ^^
i feel like Rammstein really pulled the idea that we are all doing both good and bad things all the time, it's almost always just a shift of perspective. the idea of this may be ancient, but Rammstein pulled that idea into the front of a common person's mind. i think by being in a language other than English is important as people who only speak English will get roped in by the beat and music, they eventually want to know what he's saying and learn about an entirely new dimension they never realized they were in 😎👍
French fans know every song by heart ! 😁 That is what I find so great and special during their live, since it’s perceived by most like a difficult language in France…
All of them are covered with a flame retardant. It's so they don't catch on fire and die. By far the best pyro tech crew in the business. They're all amazing to see live. Nobody does anything like these guys. Even if you don't care for their music, this is a must see band if one is able.
@@bettyrose959 Their lead singer is a licensed pyrotechnician. Nikolai Sabottka, owner of his own pyrotechnics company FFP. In an interview with Ultimate Guitar, Sabottka said he stepped into the job after Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann wasn't exactly being the safest pyrotechnician. The use 265 gallons of pyro for each show.
@@dantreadwell7421 I went to the 8-31-22 date and cried when it was over. They surely tugged a few heartstrings ending the show with “Adieu”. I hope you were able to experience the FeuerZone!
The song is actually about a marriage proposal which one of the partners refuses because of commitment issues. Translating this is tricky. You gotta see the full sentence “Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt” which means “You’ve asked me and I didn’t say anything”
Also "bis der Tod euch scheidet" (until death split you apart) from weddings, is a sort of pun because sounds a bit like "bis der Tod der Scheide" (until the death of the puxxy)
@@vitoanania6042 nah I think this is reading too much into it. I think it simply means that the person doesn’t want to commit to one person until death will do them part, since it’s a lifetime commitment. So that’s why
Rammstein isn't about the music, but a full universe, their show is worth absolutely every penny. Their composition have always several level of understanding, playing with languages.
My husband and I saw Rammstein a few years ago on an American tour. Simply put, their show was the MOST AMAZING rock concert i have ever seen, and I have been going to concerts since 1965 when I first saw the Rolling Stones. I have seen loads of bands in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, including the Beatles in Shea Stadium, Tool (several times), Aretha, Kinks, AC/DC, Marilyn Manson. Rammstein just blew the roof off the stadium in Phoenix where we saw them. Their show was worth every penny.
I'm 63 years old. I've seen hundreds of concerts over the years but seeing Rammstein at Madison square garden in 2010 was absolutely amazing. (The tickets sold out in 10 minutes,} we stayed up all night to click the "buy now" button when they were released and still only got nosebleed seats. (We could still feel the heat from the pyro) the best show Ive ever seen. I've seen them three more times since then and they still blow me away. Great reaction video BTW.
Just saw them live in Los Angeles months ago and it was absolutely incredible! One of the best performances and stage displays of all time and I’ve attended hundreds of concerts.
I saw them in about 2012 in New Zealand, Big Day Out, with Tool following them. Hands down the most insane thing I've been to. They put on a show like no other band.
Yes he shoots off the flares in concert. Incredible! There is an area on the floor at their concerts called the fire zone for fans who want to feel the heat from the pyrotechnics.
I could still feel the fire when I was on the other side of the stadium, lol there’s just a LOT of it (not sure I’d be brave enough to be in feuerzone)
I’m a female who doesn’t speak German, but I’m loved this song since its release in 97. It’s a criticism about marriage and toxic relationships. So relatable. Plus the music and pyrotechnics are damn LIT.
It was 1997 when "Du Hast" was released, I was 4 years old and it blew my mind as a kid when I saw the video on MTV. I'll never forget that day and I will always remember when my Mom kept re-recording the video on VHS, so she can show my Dad once he came home from work. It blew his mind as well because we became huge fans ever since that day and Rammstein never disappointed us since. Now, fast forward 25 years later and I finally went to my first Rammstein concert here in NJ at MetLife Stadium. As in my Dad's honor, especially since it has been 10 years since he has have been gone, I made sure to not miss this show at all. I took my 64 year old rockstar Mom along with me because she's a metalhead herself and we couldn't miss this opportunity. Plus, Mom and I just couldn't stop headbanging to every song Rammstein played and we were in section 226, which was an excellent experience and I uploaded some videos myself on UA-cam. By the way, to all of you on here, Rammstein is one of my all time favorite bands and definitely the greatest band you will ever since live, which is why I recommend you all to one day go to their concert. 🎸🤘
I took my mom as well. The crowd was eclectic to say the least, not exactly a niche demographic. Lots of people like epic music and spectacular visuals.
I am not a metal fan but had the opportunity to see them in September. I went with a friend who had gotten tickets. Neither of us knew much of them but were intrigued by the Pyro. What an epic show! The energy they create cannot be described, must be experienced in person. I was able to get a ticket to one of their European shows this summer. I can't wait! 🤘
I am 63 years old. and this is the best band in the world for the past 25 years. I listen to a few tracks every single day. Every time I see them I just smile they are just that awesome!
This is by far one of the best reaction videos I've seen. You're humble, descriptive and genuinely enjoying yourself. You've enhanced my enjoyment of Du Hast immeasurably - thank you!!
Dude, love Rammstein! Here's my discovery story. Drive professionally, part time. Rammstein's first American city stop was Mpls this past summer. I was part of the team driving the band to/from venue. We, the driving team, were inside US Bank for majority of day, saw stage going up and able to take in show from floor level. Opening tune, Links, off the charts. Du Hast was #3 in set list, unbelievable. You're spot on, your testosterone rises just listening to Du Hast🤘 Appreciate your take on it here👊🏼
Yea, Till (lead singer) decided to do that after a piece of burning set nearly fell on him at an early concert. It was kinda epic to watch, he barely reacted, just a bit of vocal flinch and he just goes over, grabs the beam and tosses it aside, all without breaking vocal on the song he was singing.
I've seen them live twice and I'll heckin do it again. They put on an absolutely amazing show. My favorite Rammstein song is "Mein Teil". I guarantee you will like their performance of that song as much as you liked "Du Hast".
@@GrimMelvin - why??? They are playing 2 concerts in summer 2023 in Denmark, and I am going to both, and I'm 46... Rammstein has been a part of my life as long as I can remember, why should I (or you) deny oneself the opportunity to see them live??? I say get some tickets and go, have a great evening and a great memory 🤘😀🤘
Yeah seen em 3 times myself. My favorite of theirs is probably Engel (and what a song that was from 3 rows back). Rammlied, feur frei and Mien Tiel are all up there though.
This German band just got 17.000 people in Paris to recite the song!!! You are awesome!!! Quickly becoming one of my favorite reactor😊 hello from Cody Wyoming
"You. You have ("hate"). You have me. You have asked me. You have asked me and I have not answered. Will you stay with me until death separates us? NO!!!! NO!!!!" Definitely a wedding song. I love when they do Ich Will in concert, and there's an audience response that's not on the album - he says, "I want you to hear me/feel me/understand me," and the audience shouts back, "we hear/feel/understand you." It's very moving!
The studio movie and the combat footage. Totally different yet equally impressive. This all started because Till had stagefright and was uncomfortable when he wasn't singing so he wanted to keep the crowd interested. Holy heck dude, mission accomplished!
He really just shot that off in front of the crowd. The first ten rows at a Rammstien concert have singed eyebrows. Till is a pyrotech of the first order. He is great at it. I adore him as a performer. He is lit in more ways than one.
Hello, great reaction! Welcome to the Rammstein family 😁 This "Du Hast" is their most known song, so it's just natural that Rammstein fans know it by heart - even in Paris 😃 What I love about Rammstein concerts is that people know exactly what they are expected to and react on point. Everything on Rammstein concert is synchronized with german perfection - even the audience 😆 Live perfomances are absolutely amazing, and usually these sound even better than studio versions. It would be great if you would like to react to some more... I have a recommendation for you. Twelve years ago Rammstein played fantastic concert in Madison Square Garden. It was on LIFAD tour, which many Rammstein fans consider the best concert tour they ever had. And MSG show was professionally shot for DVD and Bluray release - so the quality is fantastic. Please search for "Rammlied 4K" - this will bring you the video featuring not only the first song, but also the beginning of the show which is really mindblowing! And the song itself is the absolute best of the show openers in Rammstein history - insane energy that makes you wonder how come MSG was still intact 😃 Enjoy and have a great day! 😎
I was sad that on this last tour they didn't play at MSG. I realize it was an arena tour but I love taking a trip to NYC and seeing bands at MSG. I did catch them at US banks stadium (Home of the Vikings) in Minneapolis.
I saw them in Chicago on the LIFAD tour, in the Feuer Zone. And then again on the MiG tour, again on the floor. Got to help Flake's boat go over us! Always said of all the concerts I've gone to, those rank #1 and #2 for me, followed by Deftones and In This Moment. And you're totally right about that entrance. The opener had us all totally primed and ready for them. So good... 🤘
I wasn't there, but the pyrotechnics were unbelievable at the Volkerball performance in Niemes, much bigger than what they could do at MSG. Even ignoring the spectacle of their live shows, they are a rare band that sounds as good or better live than in studio. It's a shame that they started cracking down on postings of their videos about 6 years ago. It used to be that you could watch the Volkerball performance on UA-cam (it's what got me to buy the Volkerball CD/DVD/download).
absolutely... they are a 'Must see live' nothing like it... i saw them in Australia... Til has such a stage presence. As soon as they step out onto the stage, they own u, they own the whole audience, from the first note till the last....
Excellent commentary nobodynemoq! Let's now have Polo review Engel, Ich Will, Ich Tu Dir Weh, Deutschland, Angst, Giftig! Since Rammstein is my favorite band, I can go on and on! 😄😍
20+ years it was on my bucketlist to see Rammstein live.. Finally got to see them in 2022 and it was the greatest thing I've ever seen!. I can die happy now! 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Other great live performances to check out from Rammstein would be "Mein Teil" and "Engel". I also highly recommend watching their "Deutschland" music video ^^
correct... but deutschland is incredible hard to understand for not germans. there are signs, meanings and metaphores every second. even the colors used hav a meaning. i nearly watched it 50 times till today and still find new things in it... as a german.
@@mars76mr True, but you can also enjoy it simply as one hell of a music video. And I say that as a German as well (one who was never to interested in history lessons ^^')
The absolute best concert I have ever been to in my life -- regardless of the stuff going on in my personal life, I was present, I was there, and I was completely enthralled. One of my favorite bands since 1995, and I am desperate to see them again. Their equipment is incredibly expensive to transport, which is why they only do so many US shows. Their music videos are also incredible - very cinematic, and several pay homage to action films and especially the films of Quentin Tarantino. Definitely a band to keep in your collection!!
I saw Rammstein live in LA in September 2022! The BEST show I’ve ever seen hands down! Sonne is definitely a firestorm on stage as well. Rammstein has so many great songs, honestly. You won’t be disappointed!
I've seen Rammstein live 10 times last year. It was the best summer I had in decades 🥰 there are so many awesome Songs, also from their two last Albums but "Sonne" is my all time Rammstein favorite, especially live. Simple, effective, neckbreaking 😍😍😍
This is the most awesome video I've ever seen in my life, and I've seen many. The singer is a licensed pyrotechnician and does his own stuff. I can't imagine what a concert of theirs would be like.
It is absolutely unbelievably amazing......I saw them for the first time in LA in September, from the Feuer Zone. It was 2-1/2 hours of pure energy, pyro and perfection. If they do tour the US again, I will travel across the country if I have to, to see them again. It is a performance and show I will never forget.....
that stage explosion is absolutely bat shit insane. till is a master at creating a scene. mein harz brennt has a live version where he plays almost a joker themed character and its truly creepy
Saw them in San Antonio this past September. It was one of the loudest, hottest, and INCREDIBLE shows I have ever seen. Even up in the cheap seats the heat from the stage was unreal, and the crowd were just as in synch. They did they full pyro for this song as well. Seeing it LIVE was INSANE.
I started listening to them when I was 11 thanks to my older cousins who loved this song. Now Im 32 and made my dream come true seeing them in concert in LA. It was THE best show I’ve ever seen in my life! It was AMAZING. You get the chills seeing this on the screen but experiencing it live is a whole other thing ❤
I may never get the chance to be at one of Rammstien's concerts but the precision and energy of their music explodes from the audio sound through my system. Congratulations to Rammstien for their contribution to art, music and culture which Germany has produced.
Experiencing Rammstein live is an entire experience. Saw them in Philly this past August. This song live and hearing the entire crowd chanting Du Hast gave me goosebumps. The stage set is different than in the video here, much better in my opinion, much more of an industrial feeling. No other music experience compares to them so far for me.
That was a concert from paris 2011,obviously another stage, another tour/another stage- that was the MIG Tour Stage, the current stage is much larger/bigger and without the bridge to the b - stage 😢
The first time I heard them was in like 97 on my alarm clock. It was Du Hast, and I just woke up and listened to the whole thing. Been a fan ever since. I went to see them live in Minnesota this year, and it was one Hell of a show
This band is so creative. They are so unique. It's like watching multiple art forms take place at once. I don't possess the necessary descriptive powers to give their performances justice
Til (the lead singer) is a Pyro Tech professional, this is why they can get away with al the fire at the concerts. They all have a greasy substance on their skin to prevent getting burned. The venue temperature can increase easily 15 degrees at the concert.
You absolutely have to check out their videos for Zeit and Deutschland. They're incredible! Also their live video for Rammlied is amazing! Band members are: Till Lindemann - Vocals Richard Kruspe - Lead Guitar Paul Landers - Rhythm Guitar Oliver Riedel - Bass Christoph Schneider - Drums Flake Lorenz - Keyboards
Dope track and live performance and I've seen it a crazy amount of times. Never gets old! My dude got to see them in concert in a small venue. He said he could feel the heat from the pyrotechnics clear in the bk. They put on a show everytime out.
I saw them at a pretty decent sized venue (college campus) but it was so hot that I was sweating and I was feeling sorry for the security that had to be about 20 feet closer! Epic show though for sure, nothing like them live even if I don’t jam their cds
@@Coinmancer Yup, I was in the back row of a football stadium, it rained but none of us got wet😅 It,s the most fysical experienc I have had since my army days😎🤘
After 20 years, I finally got to see them this year and their show is so awesome! Well worth the wait! Hands down the best concert I have ever seen!! Mein Teil and Puppe were amazing live!
Their Paris show looked like a truly legendary performance. I mean, in history of music concerts. Everything about that show just gives you goosebumps man.
Definitely check out Mein Herz Brennt the piano version 🖤 They are one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. Both times. They shot flames throwers over the crowd. Indoors. I could feel the heat on my head and face lol 🔥🖤
Saw them live 10 years ago in the UK and hearing an entire English stadium singing along in German was awesome. I've seen a lot of metal gigs since and nobody has come close to them! And can we all acknowledge how amazing Till does to say he actually has really bad stage fright!!
I've seen them live four times, and they played Du Hast each time. The firework bow happened each time, but the last one in their stadium tour was just immense. The explosions could be heard 11 miles away. 🥰
Love the fact your audio and the vocal overlay are quite isolated and clear. Top notch work. Very well done. I shall definitely be subscribing once I clear out my subscription listing. God bless.
The best industrial metal band in the world, all their songs are a work of art and their epic concerts, goosebumps. Till is a specialist in pyrotechnics✊
Yep. Saw them on that tour in 98. They were in DC/VA on Halloween and were removed from the stage after only a couple songs bc TL pulled out a fake penis and was peeing in the keyboardist's mouth lol
You shoul'd see them today... they moved their shows to stadiums. The intro causes seismographs to go insane. I remember an article about one of their concerts last year - the title was - "Earthquake? - not realy". Saw them last year in Klagenfurt, this year - i caught tickets for Budapest and Wienna shows in July . Can't wait!
2 things about Rammstein 1) You need to see them live, all the pyro, the crowd, the sound, everything takes it to a whole new level 2) If you get tickets by the stage, shave your hair, beard and eyebrows beforehand, it won't be there when you go home anyways. Oh and don't wear plastic clothes xD
Metallica for sure... anything from master of puppets, like disposable heroes is an amazing song. If you're looking internationally again, Sepultura is a great Brazilian metal band.
I've been a fan for so long that I'm living vicariously through your reactions and loving it. I didn't take them for granted, exactly (especially after having the opportunity to see them again twice in 2022), but sometimes I forget how absolutely amazing and crazy what they do is. It's really fun to see you experience them!!
One of the best and most iconic riffs in history. Rammstein's pyro is always on point. Many years ago they had a pyro go wrong which led to injuries, the bad (well, the singer at least, I know that) then became a licensed pyrotechnician to be able to ensure that never happened again.
Let me tell you, no band does Pyrotechnics better than Rammstein. They been known to have as many as 60 trucks supporting them full of equipment capable of producing live pyrotechnics. This song (as spectacular as it is visually) is about a 6/10 on the Rammstein scale in terms of fireworks and flame; they do some really crazy things with fire! Yeah, delve deeper, delve much, much deeper! As an added bonus, they make some truly remarkable story forward high end music video's.
They truly are one of the best live acts you can see today. You don't have to understand the lyrics or enjoy the music to love the show. They were incredible to watch and the concert felt very safe.
I love this video, My son & daughter have Seen them 3 times in concert. Most recent Was at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro Ma. (About 20 Miles from where we live). Till Lindemann (lead singer) is highly Regarded in his pyrotechnic skills. Those (flare like things) are Real. No CGI here !! My kids say you can actually Feel the heat as they go over head !! Amazing !!! Thank you Polo. 💞
Anything live from RAMMSTEIN is awesome.Mein Herz Brennt ,Engel, Reise Reise,Donaukinder, Es tut mir Weh, and the piano version of Mein Herz Brennt is incredible.
Canada here ! Rammstein is my fave band! Their recent Deutschland video is incredible & essentially goes through Germanys history. I recommend checking out the entire rammstein Paris live show !
Seen them in Bologna (Italy) in 2013 and it was in a closed sports palace. Yes, he shoots for real and fireworks go over the head of everyone (on rails, no danger) and then go back to the stage where they explode over the band. Also the fire is always pointing at them and not the crowd. They know what they do. An AMAZING performance.
Glad you found such an awesome band. They do those pyrotechnics in the live shows, and it’s not CGI. Got to see them live earlier this year, finally!! If you’d like to hear more of them, I highly recommend the video for Deutschland because of the historical references. Favorite song from them might be Angst
Coming from an american here who is proficient "auf deutsch", this common translation is not correct. An appropriate translation is "you asked me and I have not answered". The German language is structured different than english, similar to spanish. A literal translation is "you have me asked and I have not said".
The verbs "hast" and "hasst" are written different but equally pronounced. If you hear just the first half of the sentence you typical understand it as "You hate me!". But as soon as the sentence is expanded, the "hate"-meaning just doesn't make sense any more.
In the case used in, for example, "und ich hab nichts gesagt" is, if you want to use the German name, "Prasens Perfekt", or Present Perfect. It translates into "I have not said anything", or close enough, and simple past is "I said nothing". However, the verb "hassen", or "to hate" has no meaning in present perfect tense, while "haben" or "to have" does. So you are correct, with no context it would be appropriate to understand as "you hate" but as soon as given such context, it doesnt make sense to say that anymore for the rest of the song.
Great video. Subscribed! 🤘 Got the chance to see them for the first time back in August here in Philadelphia and it was absolutely unbelievable. Incredible show.
Essential Rammstein songs for beginner listeners (imo) - Engel - Sonne - Ich Will - Mein Teil - Deutschland - Angst All of them have sick music videos and/or stage performances, 10/10, though personally I like the music videos for the last two best! As for other bands to check out, I'll recommend Tool. My beginner essential for that is definitely The Pot. There are many other good songs by them too, but that's always the one I recommend most strongly. Thanks for the reaction!
I got a chance to see them live in Chicago late 2022 and it truly was top 3 most incredible concert experiences ever - I’ve been to many! They’re definitely the most extreme live performance I’ve seen
"My man is walking on a treadmill while playing." I saw them live at a concert in Houston almost a decade ago (my first big date with my now-wife), and he didn't just walk, he basically break-danced on the treadmill while it ran and he played.
He's written a book and in it decribes how the threadmill thing came about. It was incredibly difficult to learn apparently. The book is hilarious, I recommend it!
Listen, to be at a Rammstein concert is a high unlike anything else. They work on another level with their stage shows! Also, the entire recorded Rammstein in Paris video is amazing, highly recommend it as a introduction to this fantastic band.

They are on my bucket list of bands to see before I die. I am going next time they tour the United States
Saw them 6 times , 2 times outside, which is even crazier. They never fail.
They are legends afterall! 🤘🤘

French and Germans singing together even brings joy to my cold dark Dutch heart.
idk why ur dutch heart is cold, im probably ignorant to something, but this made me laugh and made me smile at the same time lmao.

Just saw them in LA. No other band comes close.
@@alanwyndham469 I am due to see them on their European tour next year, my first time and I have not been this pumped for a band since I was young
this is an incredible factoid, and just makes Till even more of a badass.
Yeah exactly. He’s licensed to do this shit. Pretty damn awesome!
actually he got his pyro license because they disliked the working standarts of foreign pyro technicians. Ever since there was an accident in their early years (i think 1996) they did all their pyro on their own
The Rammstein’s phenomenon is that they got popular singing mostly in German language. The fact that French people memorised their lyrics in German is another amazing thing too:)
Not that weird actually France is next to Germany. Probably allot of Germans there aswell.
@@19900frenky it’s amazing because of their past history, France was occupied by Germany during WWll
@@19900frenky No, probably mainly french people, and most of them know only the lyrics of the song and nothing about german language. But in fact lots of french people neither speak english and also listen to english songs so...
Us Americans, too. All German I know I learned from Rammstein.
Will we see a Ukraine crowd price a Band from Russia in 80 years ? The actual war is basically the same crap than the more than 30 Wars between Germany and France since the Middleage till 1940 ...
Epic song. I'm 62 and I still bang my head to this one! The stage performance is one of the best that I have ever seen. Till brings it hard.
Then "Du hast mich gefragt." (You have asked me.)
Essentially it is about wedding vows and as in a relationship sometimes love an hate may be close to each-other, this is an awesome expression. It goes on with "Du hast mich gefragt, und ich habe nichts gesagt." (You have asked me, and I said nothing.) Then "Willst Du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu sein?" (Will you be faithful until death does you part?) "NEIN!" (NO!)
Basically criticizing the concept of a lifelong relationship, where vows are supposed to bind you and your partner together for life. An awesome song and presentation with a simple text, but deep meaning. Loving it.
That was the most complicated way to describe the issue I have ever seen but at the same time I couldn't have done it better myself.
But I guess that's just the beauty of our language: even our wordplays are serious af! ^^
Hmmm good or bad so damn confusing
Ja, es ist doppeldeutig, aber Er Singt ' Du hast mich gefragt..
i feel like Rammstein really pulled the idea that we are all doing both good and bad things all the time, it's almost always just a shift of perspective. the idea of this may be ancient, but Rammstein pulled that idea into the front of a common person's mind. i think by being in a language other than English is important as people who only speak English will get roped in by the beat and music, they eventually want to know what he's saying and learn about an entirely new dimension they never realized they were in 😎👍
French fans know every song by heart ! 😁 That is what I find so great and special during their live, since it’s perceived by most like a difficult language in France…
Their live shows are insane. It's actual fire throughout. Singer sings a song on fire
All of them are covered with a flame retardant. It's so they don't catch on fire and die. By far the best pyro tech crew in the business. They're all amazing to see live. Nobody does anything like these guys. Even if you don't care for their music, this is a must see band if one is able.

The song is actually about a marriage proposal which one of the partners refuses because of commitment issues. Translating this is tricky. You gotta see the full sentence “Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt” which means “You’ve asked me and I didn’t say anything”
Yes, the play on words only works in German.
Also "bis der Tod euch scheidet" (until death split you apart) from weddings, is a sort of pun because sounds a bit like "bis der Tod der Scheide" (until the death of the puxxy)

Rammstein isn't about the music, but a full universe, their show is worth absolutely every penny. Their composition have always several level of understanding, playing with languages.
they are not just a show, but an experience. everyone must see them live, at least just to say" yeah, i saw them live once".
Hey, I was at that concert too! It was amazing!!
Fkn`A 😎
I saw them in about 2012 in New Zealand, Big Day Out, with Tool following them. Hands down the most insane thing I've been to. They put on a show like no other band.
Yes he shoots off the flares in concert. Incredible! There is an area on the floor at their concerts called the fire zone for fans who want to feel the heat from the pyrotechnics.
Yep. I've been in the fire zone and you can really feel the heat, even around 15 rows back from the front. It's proper hot!
you feel the heat everywhere
The original XXX/ Tripple X movie has these guys performing. A James Bond-type spy actually climbs on stage.
I could still feel the fire when I was on the other side of the stadium, lol there’s just a LOT of it (not sure I’d be brave enough to be in feuerzone)
I went to the Chicago and LA shows. Even when you're not in the fire zone, you can still feel the heat.
I’m a female who doesn’t speak German, but I’m loved this song since its release in 97. It’s a criticism about marriage and toxic relationships.
So relatable. Plus the music and pyrotechnics are damn LIT.
I introduced this actual song to my non-metal family and friends exactly a year ago at Christmas. They were all awestruck.
Actual? Bet you talk strange in other way also.
The lead singer is a pyrotechnician and to see them live well you’ll never forget it
It was 1997 when "Du Hast" was released, I was 4 years old and it blew my mind as a kid when I saw the video on MTV.
I had that with a "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen as a kid, I am from 1974. I have been a Queen fan ever since.

And an alleged sex offender also.
Every band member is!
No they ALL are. Else they wouldn't be able to breathe fire legally and safely during fuer frei
They all are 🤗
I've seen them live twice and I'll heckin do it again. They put on an absolutely amazing show.
My favorite Rammstein song is "Mein Teil". I guarantee you will like their performance of that song as much as you liked "Du Hast".

I remember when this song came out back then, this keyboard tune around the 6:30 mark was the theme tune of a kids' tv-show here in The Netherlands.

He really just shot that off in front of the crowd. The first ten rows at a Rammstien concert have singed eyebrows. Till is a pyrotech of the first order. He is great at it. I adore him as a performer. He is lit in more ways than one.
Hello, great reaction! Welcome to the Rammstein family 😁
This "Du Hast" is their most known song, so it's just natural that Rammstein fans know it by heart - even in Paris 😃
What I love about Rammstein concerts is that people know exactly what they are expected to and react on point. Everything on Rammstein concert is synchronized with german perfection - even the audience 😆
Live perfomances are absolutely amazing, and usually these sound even better than studio versions.
And the song itself is the absolute best of the show openers in Rammstein history - insane energy that makes you wonder how come MSG was still intact 😃
Enjoy and have a great day!

I saw them in September in San Antonio and it was an indoor concert and it was amazing. So loud and so smoky after from all the pyrotechnics
that stage explosion is absolutely bat shit insane. till is a master at creating a scene. mein harz brennt has a live version where he plays almost a joker themed character and its truly creepy

Their live performances are insane. These guys aren’t young and still make every show amazing.

Yep. Saw them on that tour in 98. They were in DC/VA on Halloween and were removed from the stage after only a couple songs bc TL pulled out a fake penis and was peeing in the keyboardist's mouth lol
The rockets fly over the crowd on wires. And its insanely hot indoor.
Can't wait!
The best live band I've ever seen!! Saw them twice on the same UK tour, more of an event/spectical than a gig, powerful and touches your soul
2 things about Rammstein
1) You need to see them live, all the pyro, the crowd, the sound, everything takes it to a whole new level
2) If you get tickets by the stage, shave your hair, beard and eyebrows beforehand, it won't be there when you go home anyways.
One of the few bands that is really at their best, live. Man, I’d love to see those guys.
One of the best and most iconic riffs in history. Rammstein's pyro is always on point. Many years ago they had a pyro go wrong which led to injuries, the bad (well, the singer at least, I know that) then became a licensed pyrotechnician to be able to ensure that never happened again.
Saw them in Philly this year. Amazing performers. Have listened to their music for a long time. The pyrotechnics were out of this world.
I saw them in Norway this summer, its actually 108 semi's of gear haha, insane
It takes 3 days to build their current setup and 1.5 to pack it up. The crew seem to enjoy the job, they erect hell in a different city every week.
@@TheOsloDude Well gee... that's a show I'm sad to have missed!
Their videos are like mini movies. Kinda wish Ich Tu De Weir had a "story" video. It would be wild to see what they would do with those lyrics 😄
100% fact
2022 Rammstein Stadion Tour. Berlin. Best concert ever. When 66000 people shout DU HAST..Goosebump
They truly are one of the best live acts you can see today. You don't have to understand the lyrics or enjoy the music to love the show. They were incredible to watch and the concert felt very safe.
Seen them twice in Canada. Best show a band can put on. The lights, fire and the music is heavy and tight as hell. No band can touch these guys.
I love this video, My son & daughter have
Seen them 3 times in concert. Most recent
Was at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro Ma.
(About 20 Miles from where we live).
Till Lindemann (lead singer) is highly
Regarded in his pyrotechnic skills.
Those (flare like things) are Real.
No CGI here !! My kids say you can actually
Feel the heat as they go over head !!
Amazing !!! Thank you Polo. 💞
Anything live from RAMMSTEIN is awesome.Mein Herz Brennt ,Engel, Reise Reise,Donaukinder, Es tut mir Weh, and the piano version of Mein Herz Brennt is incredible.
Saw them first time 1994 and also this summer 2022. Both great concerts.
First time something new and now a perfection in music and pyrotechnics 🔥
Canada here ! Rammstein is my fave band! Their recent Deutschland video is incredible & essentially goes through Germanys history. I recommend checking out the entire rammstein Paris live show !
My eldest son played this for me for Mother's Day about 20yrs ago - i absolutely loved it 🇬🇧
Seen them in Bologna (Italy) in 2013 and it was in a closed sports palace.
Ramstein is easily in my top 5 live shows i have been to, and I have been to well over 100. Amazing.
One of the best live bands ever!
"You hate me too say and I did not obey".
Subscribed! 🤘
Got the chance to see them for the first time back in August here in Philadelphia and it was absolutely unbelievable. Incredible show.
Essential Rammstein songs for beginner listeners (imo)
- Engel
- Sonne
- Ich Will
- Mein Teil
- Deutschland
- Angst
All of them have sick music videos and/or stage performances, 10/10, though personally I like the music videos for the last two best!
"My man is walking on a treadmill while playing."
I saw them live at a concert in Houston almost a decade ago (my first big date with my now-wife), and he didn't just walk, he basically break-danced on the treadmill while it ran and he played.
Some Germans are really into physical fitness and refuse to miss a workout. 🤭
Its ALL REAL ❤❤❤ NO OTHER BAND COMPARES ❤❤❤❤❤
