@TeddyGreyOS I once shadowed a pyrotechnician for an evening, he spoke about touring with many world famous acts and happily cancelling their pyro packages when they didn't show up to pyro rehearsals. Simply put, if you don't show up and study your marks for some of this kit you can easily be severely injured. According to him Rammstein NEVER missed a pyro rehearsal, always took it seriously and thus he was happy to work with them on blowing as much stuff up as possible!
9:00 they actually take safety very seriously! the frontman is a licensed pyrotechnician, and the band members will often be slathered in a flame-resistant gel so they won't accidentally catch fire (that's why they look "dirty" here, iirc.) they're also rather limited in the venues they can play with their full stage show, mostly doing outside shows for safety reasons. their shows look insane, but each pyrotechnic element is carefully planned.

I believe Flake said in an interview that he only plays a few notes in some songs, and needed something to keep in beat, so the treadmill was introduced in the 2000's and was a great hit!
Interesting fact... The weird requests in riders was actually intended to prove that the contract had been adhered to. If a band showed up at a venue and they didn't have their skittles separated into bowls by colour they knew they had to check all their technical requirements on stage because if something simple like that hadn't been done other things probably hadn't been done either. These weird requests were usually scattered throughout the rider so it HAD to be read. I think it's probably just become a way to have a laugh these days, but that's how it was for a lot of bands between probably the 50s and 90s.
Rammstein is a theatrical act as much as it is a concert. Most of their music is simple and easy to move your body to, and some of their lyrics are just really funny. They are a good time, and have been around for multiple decades.

If you ever have the chance, make sure you go to one of their concerts, they're amazing. They once opened for Kiss, that was the worst thing Kiss could do, as they said themselves. Rammstein were so blatant that everything Kiss did afterwards just seemed like kibble shit. The audience was so enthusiastic about Rammstein that the actual main act was only second-rate. Just letting you know, the first three rows are called Hot Seats and you get what you paid for. Fire real real close. That's why the band are all covered in flame-resistant gel. He's on a treadmill, cause he can't stay still and he's tripped his bandmates before. Also, would you believe me if I told you the singer is stage fright? And yes. He did blow up the stage.

I saw them live at Racing stadium in Buenos Aires, like 12 years ago. You know Argentinian crowds are super passionate, right? So, before the show started I was standing 50 meters away from the stage. By half of the second song I was pushed and smashed all the way to almost front row. Best live concert of my life.

Til Lindemann, lead vocalist, worked as a basket weaver before Rammstein. He was also super shy and couldn't look at anyone in the audience when they first started performing live. Richard Kruspe, lead guitars and backing vocals, started the band in 1993 with bass player, Ollie Riedel, and drummer, Christoph Schneider. The official group complete with guitarist and backing vocals Paul Landers and keyboardist (and occasionally accordion) Christian "Flake" Lorenz came together in 1994. All of the original members are still in the band 30 years later. Flake walks on a treadmill during the concerts because he has a hard time staying in one place and needs to be moving. Both Richard and Til have side projects. Richard's is an English speaking band called Emigrate. Til's project is called Lindemann and I believe might also be in English. Richard's daughter's last name is Lindemann but has zero relation to Til. Rammstein has one doing entirely in Spanish. Til's girlfriend taught him Spanish. Most of these are things I learned YEARS ago through interviews and articles.

Du Hast is their most popular single - at least in the US - but probably the one I think is the least interesting. Rammstein are still my favorite live performance of all time. I saw them around 2001 and then again in 2022. Their pyro game was amazing the first time but was INSANE the second time. The keyboardist goes by Flake.

I watched them in 2016 at the Hurricane festival. It was very rainy and cold. There were lightning in the sky during the gig. After the performance from Rammstein my clothes were dry and warm 😄 loved every second of it
Around the 2006 2007 period, Du Haste and Sonne kind of made a circuit around my network of folks. Lttle bit popular, thought it was kind of odd, but I didn't turn down the free access to new things. Maybe it cultured me, I don't know, I still don't speak German but I know how to say pain/joy now and I know why a cat in a box can matter.

They played Cardiff arena a few years ago and used so many pyrotechnics the local fire station received dozens of calls from residents thinking the place was literally on fire. Check out any recent live videos of the song "Sonne" and you'll see what I mean.
Look up the stage prep for their shows. Its amazing. The amount of time and effort they put into their shows is wild. Look up how much they spend on pyrotechnics...insane. lol

If you ever have the chance, make sure you go to one of their concerts, they're amazing. They once opened for Kiss, that was the worst thing Kiss could do, as they said themselves. Rammstein were so blatant that everything Kiss did afterwards just seemed like kibble shit. The audience was so enthusiastic about Rammstein that the actual main act was only second-rate. This band is provocative, but they are so cool. If you think this is violent, then I'd recommend the song "Mein Teil" from Live in Paris, then you'll know why they're not PG.😁🤘🏻🔥

I saw them live at Racing stadium in Buenos Aires, like 12 years ago. You know Argentinian crowds are super passionate, right? So, before the show started I was standing 50 meters away from the stage. By half of the second song I was pushed and smashed all the way to almost front row. Best live concert of my life.
The fireworks that goes over peoples heads runs safely on wires. So I believe that Paris Council had a very small amount of paperwork. Their rider says : "No pyro - no show" by the way :)

Til Lindemann, lead vocalist, worked as a basket weaver before Rammstein. He was also super shy and couldn't look at anyone in the audience when they first started performing live.
Richard Kruspe, lead guitars and backing vocals, started the band in 1993 with bass player, Ollie Riedel, and drummer, Christoph Schneider. The official group complete with guitarist and backing vocals Paul Landers and keyboardist (and occasionally accordion) Christian "Flake" Lorenz came together in 1994. All of the original members are still in the band 30 years later.
Flake walks on a treadmill during the concerts because he has a hard time staying in one place and needs to be moving.
Both Richard and Til have side projects. Richard's is an English speaking band called Emigrate. Til's project is called Lindemann and I believe might also be in English.
Richard's daughter's last name is Lindemann but has zero relation to Til.
Rammstein has one doing entirely in Spanish. Til's girlfriend taught him Spanish.
Most of these are things I learned YEARS ago through interviews and articles.

The lead singer is Till, and he is the master pyrotechnician . The dude with the keyboard and treadmill, he is pretty eclectic and is very active. He didn’t like just standing during the shows, he certainly the treadmill.
Finally, I thought the whole group/presentation was different, but I appreciated and loved the refreshing difference. Rammstein is from Berlin. Their shows are full of pyrotechnics and lyrics laced with double entendres. Please do more!

Du Hast is their most popular single - at least in the US - but probably the one I think is the least interesting. Rammstein are still my favorite live performance of all time. I saw them around 2001 and then again in 2022. Their pyro game was amazing the first time but was INSANE the second time. The keyboardist goes by Flake.
