Seen them 3 times. Best live show on the planet. When Rammstein come to town, everyone is immediately fluent in German. Also, they sell out MSG in 30 minutes
This is band that probably doesn’t even crack my top 20 favorite musical artists but hands down the greatest live performance I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure if this is the last song/encore of the set but I can tell you that the entire set is near this level (or above it) as far as stage production. As their guitarist once said, most of their fans don’t understand the lyrics so they try to go above and beyond to put on a good show
Every time they tour in the states, they sell out the venue. They still consistently sell out at Madison Square Garden and have for nearly 30years now 😮 you talk about being surprised they made it to American radio, let's not forget that this concert was in Paris and that whole crowd knew all the words 😂 They are the definition of maximum effort ❤
Yep. I know some words from various songs...but a friend of mine knows every effing word. He even studied german for a bit! 😅 Can't blame him, I'm an Epica fan, they sing in English, latin and in a song or another, some arabic is also there and I'm on duolingo trying to learn dutch just to show them my skills next time we meet! 😂😂😂😂
This is an ordinary red paint. Before the song "Du hast", there is "Mein teil", where Til Lindeman is doused with it from head to toe for a stage image.
@@АлексГуденко-ц5ъ one is paint. the other is flame retardant. they are covered all with it. because the main singer is also a master of explosives.and each member of the group has a special duty to ensure that it is safe.
Hi, 1. when they started their shows it was alsways a mixture of coffee and water. They keyborder later tryed decaf coffeepowder because having coffee on your skin for a few hours makes you veeery hyper^^ (I read 2 books written by the keyborder and one by Tills father) 2. it is done intentionally that the words have multiple meanings. du hasst (you hate) and du hast (you have) sound exactly the same in German. As long as he says "du has(s)t, du has(s)t, du ha(s)t mich" it can mean both. But as he continues: "Du hast mich gefragt, du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt" The meaning "you have asked me and I said nothing" becomes clear. 3. The marriage vow "bis der Tod euch scheide" means "until death separates you" (the verb seperates translates to the verb "scheiden" in German). But "die Scheide" also means "vagina" in German.
Yeah, it says something special about the quality of the music here that it loses a lot in translation, but it's still that fuckawesome even without the layers of meaning in the original.
Dude! You’ve gotta react to more Rammstein! Especially with your background in writing lyrics. Till’s an incredible poet and he does so much with so little. A lot of German words have double meanings…this song could be taken as “you have” or “you hate” depending on the diction. Having that in mind makes the song/meaning a lot more complex. Here’s a couple you absolutely HAVE TO REACT TO: Engel-live from Madison Square Garden Ich Tu Dir Weh-live from Madison Square Garden Mien Herz Brennt-piano version Deutschland Zeit Angst Kiene Lust Adieu Rammstein are fucking legends. I saw them in Sept. 2022 in San Antonio. Amazing energy, the heat was crazy from all the fire. Top 3 concerts I've seen. I love Till's Ich Hasse Kinder, the story, the cinematic and song!! All of their videos/songs are great from serious to hilarious, so many songs to suggest, @Arno Nyhm below did a great job in his comments below.
I saw them last year in Texas. It was an absolute fire concert,, literally fire LOL $200 best show. I've ever seen and I'm over 60 Till today is almost 60or just over. LOL.. great reaction,,badass song.
Come on man. This is an epic song that has been around forever. You don’t know much about music if you’re not turning the volume clear up and blasting this song 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of my friends saw Rammstein in Germany while visiting family many, many years ago. He told me that there were so much pyrotechnics going off (including flamethrowers) that you could easily have a weenie roast in there if you wanted. Lucky bastard actually got to meet the whole band and got them to sign his vinyl copy of "Rosenraught" (which he has framed on his wall to this day).
Rammstein is both figuratively and literally fire. I saw them for the first time back in the early 2000s. They had flamethrowers inside. It was amazing 🔥
Oh Rammstein ❤ I can't wait to see them live on the 26th. Fire, fire, fire and pyrotechnics everywhere! Till's amazing voice... Wow Till is a professional licensed pirotechnician, he wanted to be sure the shows were safe for everyone! And german is a beautiful language.
While the members of the band DO use flame retardant to protect themselves; they also use various forms of stage makeup. The "blood" in question is left over from the song "Mein Teil" (another good one for a reaction) which occurred 3 songs earlier in the set list and has lead singer Till very much covered in "blood".
Hey Cliff, thought you might appreciate thay the song is a double. The German words "du hast" means "you have", whereas "du hasst" means "you hate". This gives an extra meaning to the wedding vows you pointed out.
I love this song!!! Yup when you were a kid cause my kids are almost 40 and my son got me listening to these guys and Korn and I was already a metal head. 🖖🏻🇨🇦
@Cliff Beats, Rammstein are absolutely Legendary when it comes to the metal/rock scene (and a couple other genre's they ventured into) and personally as someone who is a Rock/Metal Head at heart Rammstein (Ramm - Stuh - ine) are wayyyy up there on my list, Definitely Top 10 if not Top 5. I've had the pleasure of working alongside (Security during UK/EU Tours) them and Till Lindermann along with the rest of the gang are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I could actually speak German before I could speak English, Weird little fact although I've lost the vast majority of the language now because I don't use it often enough but it deffinitely helped when I first discovered Rammstein to fully immerse myself in their brilliance. These guys are truly legendary when it comes to not only homophones because of the German language quite often having double meanings but masters of the stage production also. Till Lindermann (lead singer) is also a master in explosives and pyrotechnics (fully qualified, legally speaking) and this is one of the reasons the performances absolutely pop off. You deffinitely have to sink your teeth into more Rammstein, I gurantee you will not be dissapointed
it probably wast rattling the stage, but what was probably rattling the stage was their show in england that was heard within 11 miles it was that loud
In German it is the German Wedding Vows, when translated to English it is: You Hate, You Hate...You HATE me to Say That I will NOT Obey! The Lyrics have 2 meanings. Till is covered in a Fire Retardant due to the shows Pyro effects and the guy on the treadmill is said to walk about 30 MILES per night.
Yep...I guess the treadmill keeps him that slim! He's been walking on it for years and years... I wonder how many times he walked the earth's circumference! 🤔🤔🤔😅
@@EvaMetalhankle well 30 miles per show and 3 shows per stop with about 48 stops per year for 30 years...should be about 2 1/4 Earth Circumference give or take. That is Still ALOT OF WALKING !!!! I Need a Soft Couch just thinking about all that walking.
that is a mistranslation. It is a widely spread bit of misinformation about the title. It is Du Hast, NOT Du Hasst. - FYI, I speak German, Czech, English fluently. Even Til Lindemann has said categorically that is wrong. Also he does about 30 kilometres per show...not 30 miles.
sometimes it is flame retardant and sometimes it actually is blood, or both it depends on the show or song or situation. Sometimes Till does bleed because he hits himself on things, but mostly it’s flame retardant. And he also sometimes covers himself in ash like stuff or makeup or coffee, depending on what show you are watching from what decade. If you react to Lindemann, he will probably be covered in white stuff. The fire is because he has stage fright and severe anxiety and used fire to distract from his face and then it escalated into more and more fire over time.
I was in early high school when it came out and working my first job at a restaurant. On my break, a buddy came by with a sick sound system and I sat in the back seat while this song played. Needless to say, I'm deaf now. ;-)
Cheers from Germany😊. Rammstein has the biggest Live Show ("Stadion Tour") on Earth since around 2021 and they Tour actual around Europe. I dont Tell its the best Band or something like that. But all of their live Shows are the most epic in the world and no one have seen them will ever forget this Event in lifetime. Now since nearly 30years❤
Yes. He's on a treadmill, because he has to keep moving. He can't be still and actually tripped his fellow band members before. The treadmill is the safest option. Why does Till have blood on him? Well, he doesn't mind pain. If you see blood, don't pay it any mind. What you'll also notice is that he has a fire-protective gel on. The first three rows are called Hot Seats for a reason. Also the fact that French people are singing in German is a BIG DEAL, especially if you know about all the events of WWII. Yes, you saw that correctly. Fireworks blew up the stage. Wait till you see them blow fire in Feuer Frei.
Greetz Cliff. Watch it as often as you like and it will still never get old nor stop raising the hairs on the back of your neck... Said it before and I will say it again, if you EVER EVER get the chance to see Rammstein ( pronounced Ramm sht eye nn... ) then do whatever it takes. Because you will have a memory for life ! = ) Hope your health is improving matey. all best.
ThanxX for this great reaction. Rammstein plays with the same phonetic sound of the word “hast”. Firstly it means you have me and secondly it means you hate me. We German fans love that. It's great that the French are so excited about a German text.
Du hast mich (you have me) and Du hasst mich (you hate me). It's a double and changes the meaning of the song. "Du Hast explores the detriments of marriage, and the developing separation and resentment drawn from a long-term relationship."
Continuing with Rammstein? I have a "few" suggestions. If you want to see their (incredible) live performances I would suggest Rammlied (live from Madison Square Garden) Engel (live from Madison Square Garden) Sonne (live at Rock im Park 2017) Links 2 3 4 (live from Madison Square Garden) Ich will (live from Hurricane Festival 2016) Ich tu dir weh (live from Madison Square Garden) (don't take the lyrics too serious) Mein Teil (live at Hurricane Festival 2013) Amazing official videos Sonne (Sun) heavy, screwed up fairy-tale Links 2 3 4 (left) partly heavy march Ich will (I want) heavy, simple, way to celebrity Spring! (Jump!) (fan-made animated version with english subtitles) slow, partly heavy, very dark sarcasm! Radio (Radio) catchy song (with serious background) Keine Lust (not in the mood) heavy, funny, slidely sad Mein Herz brennt (My heart burns) scary, nightmarish, very special Amerika (America) catchy, not a love song Mein Land (My land), sounds & looks like easy living (unless you look at the slightly developing of the lyrics) Newest official videos from their last album "Zeit" in sequence of the tracks on the album: Zeit (Time) slow, dark, melancholic, emotional Zick Zack (Snip Snap) catchy song, sarcastic, funny Angst (Fear) very Rammstein, scary, credits at the end are helpful to understand the message Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) heavy (most of the time), catchy, funny, credits are funny too (my view) Adieu (Goodbye) dark, sometimes heavy, emotional Last but not least the great (but not nice) video "Deutschland" which has a lot of references to (mostly unpleasent) parts of German history. Video, lyrics, and sound are great (my view) and work very well together. For many of Rammstein's videos there are English subtitles available. To find a lot of them, you may search on UA-cam for: "educated marine rammstein" + songname For live videos of Rammstein songs, www.youtube.com/@Bucksttabu/playlists is a good source. In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of "Du hast".) I wish you to enjoy your Rammstein journey.
Hey Cliff - Lead singer Till Lindemann is a certified Pyrotechnics specialist, plans every one of their down to a millisecond and plots out all their shows. They all look "oiled" up because they are coated from head to tow in flame resistant gel due to the intense heat and flame
Buckstaboo just does the captions. They need the treadmill or they'll blow the entire Paris grid with the stage lights. As you watch more Rammstein, you'll quickly learn their primary motifs are blood and fire.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Tom Traubert's Blues (4 Sheets to the Wind in Copenhagen)" by Tom Waits (Also known as "Waltzing Matilda"). His voice is so unique that one critic once described it as though "it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside & run over with a car"! He's a well-regarded & respected songwriter from within the "Rock" genre from the 70's & 80's. I'd LOVE to hear your take on his signature song. Link Here: ua-cam.com/video/hW2vyytxCGM/v-deo.html

Great reaction! You have to watch Rammstein live songs like Sonne, Feueir Frei, Mutter, Ich Will, Engel🤘

Ich will (I want) heavy, simple, way to celebrity
Spring! (Jump!) (fan-made animated version with english subtitles) slow, partly heavy, very dark sarcasm!
Radio (Radio) catchy song (with serious background)
Keine Lust (not in the mood) heavy, funny, slidely sad
Mein Herz brennt (My heart burns) scary, nightmarish, very special
Amerika (America) catchy, not a love song
Mein Land (My land), sounds & looks like easy living (unless you look at the slightly developing of the lyrics)
Newest official videos from their last album "Zeit" in sequence of the tracks on the album:
Zeit (Time) slow, dark, melancholic, emotional
Zick Zack (Snip Snap) catchy song, sarcastic, funny
Angst (Fear) very Rammstein, scary, credits at the end are helpful to understand the message
Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) heavy (most of the time), catchy, funny, credits are funny too (my view)
Adieu (Goodbye) dark, sometimes heavy, emotional
Last but not least the great (but not nice) video "Deutschland" which has a lot of references to (mostly unpleasent) parts of German history. Video, lyrics, and sound are great (my view) and work very well together.

In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of "Du hast".)
I wish you to enjoy your Rammstein journey.
Great job on the list. Don't forget Till's solo projects
The list needs Pussy. Cliff would literally die.
They're doing a tour next year in europe
Definitely need more Rammstein.
You might want to actually research what the songs are about before because some songs are about some crazy stuff.
If you do Mein Teil from Rammstein I recommend the 2013 Hurricane festival version of it
Your facial expression when the rockets come back 👌🤣😂
Fun fact: This video is one of their CLEANEST videos. (Not the right word, but as close as I can get. Lol)
JEFF was HERE 👇🏆👀
Hey Cliff - Lead singer Till Lindemann is a certified Pyrotechnics specialist, plans every one of their down to a millisecond and plots out all their shows. They all look "oiled" up because they are coated from head to tow in flame resistant gel due to the intense heat and flame
Awesome getting into Rammstein!
Of topic could you react to Patience from Nas and Damian Marley
Ok from the reactions that i have seen from others there is a common denominator in all of them for this song...
IS THAT A TREADMILL
I first heard Du Hast on the soundtrack for The Matrix.
Buckstaboo just does the captions.
They need the treadmill or they'll blow the entire Paris grid with the stage lights.
As you watch more Rammstein, you'll quickly learn their primary motifs are blood and fire.
My first exposure to this song was in CKY2K...sigh... the good old days.
You need to check out "mein tiel" live from this show
* here for the treadmill reaction
Lil Dicky - Too High
Eminem & Redman - Off the Wall
Eminem - Remember Me
The 2001 movie “How High” with Method man and Redman used this song so if you’ve ever watched that movie you have heard it
Bro, How does someone time a perfectly timed sub even when he's not streaming?! XD
my absolute #1 band of all time, best live performances always, they really make it worth going to a concert.
It was my sons first live concert (Coventry 2022) mindblown! 😅
Till has his LICENCE IN PYROTECHNICS... IT MEAN'S YOU HATE ME IN GERMAN WEDDING VOWS...❤❤❤✌
it is a fire retardent for the flames
More rammstein reactions
your face was priceless dude...
Every reaction…. Hit play and then comes … Is he on a treadmill… lol 😆
if you really want to blow your mind, search "Play That Funky Music Rammstein". Great Mashup
