Thanks mate! I’m so torn on starting a new legion: I’ve tried so much but everything gets painted silver in the end… will still have the weaters that rich has let me borrow for your viewing please though (maybe I’ll get em in as a cameo with my IW as some moline breakers)
I met Ed at a Warzone Scotland heresy event last year - a really lovely, warm person - and really fun to see him here (and then delve into the @SectorWargaming backcatalogue). Both your channels are fab, sorry to hear about the loss of Ed's studio.
Thanks to your two channels, I'm the proud owner or 5 badly painted mkvi space marines. First miniatures I've bought since 3rd edition 40k (about 2007)
5 is almost a warband! I’d definitely recommend checking out the victory is vengeance campaign from book 2 or 3 if you fancied some smaller skirmishes (it’s a great system and no reason it wouldn’t work in H2 still)
Thanks for the kind words mate! Ed is a top bloke, we all deffo need to mither him enough to sort the new studio so he can get it running again! Is that James og or word bearers James? We can gloss over what you thought of him haha
Awesome game, hate to think how long this must have taken to film but been thoroughly enjoyable viewing. Seeing Russ gunned down by Solar appeals to the t.sons fan in me! Just a couple of rules I spotted whilst watching to help for future games; 1) sweeping advance, you just need the match or beat to sweep, not just beat 2) heavy can sweep. Its cataphractii armour specifically that stops you 3) heart of the legion wouldn't trigger on this mission. They have to be on an objective and the sectors don't count as objectives
Hey hey: Definately a win that should’ve been done by the prospering spire guard! On the mistakes first two definately need to remember them, the equal or beat is so easy to fall into with being so used to it I’ve sent you the Screenshot of the book page which seems to say that any area of the battlefield that has an objective for it is counted as an objective (p307 in my epub)
@Bearfoot Miniatures cheers Max! The humble auxilia I think we're being directed by a shard of magnus but didn't know it ;) Good point on the HOTL rule. I just thinks that's not how it's intended as it effectively become board wide for those units on this mission. I really want to see some of the mission packs from events to see how they develop from the rulebook ones. Thanks again for the awesome batrep!
@@BearfootMiniatures unfortunately max the faq clarifies that when a rule like heart of the legion says 'within x" of an objective', it means an objective marker not an objective zone. So no heart of the legion unless the mission has objective markers
Hey mate: I really want to, I know your interested in that on the zone board aswell (if I remember correctly) At the moment my times stretching to break point with trying to get ahead enough to be able to take the time off for recording the more time consuming terrain builds etc but I’m getting there (all life is now counted in “games ahead of release”)
Sorry was painting but did the Iron Circle get swept? Automita key word means fearless.... Great game tho guys....a some one who is having to deal with Russ a lot its good to see him get spanked!
Hey mate: I didnt take Iron circle in this game Do you mean the dominators (who may have been swept as theyre stubborn), the Praevians unit I think was given the old murderous strike by russ and exaporated!
Iron Warriors Turn 3 had no movement but the lasrifles squad on the left side had to move back into coherency (page 164 of rules). Not sure on the range but it looks like that move would have been within 12" of Russ and allowed his Advanced Reaction. He could have charged and not had to weather all the shooting. Loved the bat-rep but felt bad seeing Russ take a pummelling needlessly!
Hey mate! Glad you enjoyed it! For the squad they would’ve ended out of 12” (the nearest base was outside 6 of him so could’ve moved to out of the 12 for the charge) but the squad was actually pinned (or we thought it was pinned by a dread) so couldn’t move He wouldn’t have taken that squads lasfire if it was unpinned but by the time we re-realised dread explosions don’t pin we were well on with the game
Several bookeeping errors; you can't take heart of the legion FNP on this mission because there arent any objective tokens to be within 6"; scoring just checks if you are in deployment zone at end of game. Second; you cant take damage mitigation rolls against Dangerous terrain. Third; Dread explosions dont cause Pinning. You point this out early in the video and then take several pinning checks when the dread line blows up.
Hey mate! Chris has already mentioned the first one (in my epub it’s on p307) Will have to remember on the others, luckily didn’t effect the game toooo much! Thanks for watching! And hope you enjoyed the game anyway!
amazing cross over - Ed - please come back and sort out more gaming! (I know max will continue... I'm in enough local chats and see him enough knowing that he will...)
I was sort of worried seeing the line of av14 at the start but as we went through…. I’m coming to think missile launchers should have sunder instead of las, cos we never see missiles (or I don’t) and it would give them the reason to be taken over las
@@BearfootMiniaturesThat’s a good idea, also imo vehicles would be fixed if they could just react like everyone else can surely. Also if dreadnoughts were BS and WS 4, maybe could be upgraded to an ancient / old veteran to get the BS and WS 5

That's far too many minis on one table. Everyone's on top of one another. Though, with the dropping of overall points values and the increase in standard points values across all GW's games it's been an issue for a long time.
100% agree mate but it’s sometimes good to have a big game (I do prefer 8x6 as a table size for that though, heresy 1 I actually think worked better on the 8x6 weirdly! More room to avoid heavy weapons and glaives!)
@@BearfootMiniatures realise I came across as a bit of a prick there reading it back. But bigger is better when it comes to HH.
