I find using the kinesiology tape has been helpful too! There’s plenty of videos on how to apply it on the web, though they vary some. I’ve experimented to find which works best for me.
I had a bunion on my right foot and Taylor bunions on on both feet. I was able to reduce them to almost nonexistent by stretching and strengthening my hips, which changed the way I walk.
My right foot is bit more turned out than left foot. Right foot has the bunion. I think the pressure is from position of hip joint. Don't know of hip exercise to try correct. Maybe in soles to correct foot? No idea as I'm now 61. Anyone got advice. Thx
@@karlenecowan4694 I'm sorry if this is unsolicited advice but switching to minimalist shoes was the best thing I did this year. Those shoes have enough space for your toes which means that your feet have the space to realign to their natural bunion free position. They also have a flexible sole and zero drop so they help you keep a correct posture.

Thank you for this informative video, I have developed a bunion on my right foot, and needed to know what caused it,as well as what to do for some relief. I don't think it runs in my family, but I wore high heels for years. (I am 4'9" tall, &it felt(feels)at times like being 'in the land of the giants'!) So, yes I wore them often. I have seldom wore heels in past 5 years, however, but during the past 3yrs, I've had quite a bump appear beside my big R toe. Boy it smarts at times, and the whole area where bump has formed, burns deeply, feeling like, what I would imagine, stepping on a hot coal! I was happy to learn that I may be able to do exercise, and perhaps even help mold or shift the bows there to improve. Yes, sensible footwear is imperative, thanks again for the tips! anyone living with bunions, I'd recommend getting lapiplasty surgery, the best bunion surgery out there in my opinion. I recently just got this procedure and am making update videos if anyone's interested in getting the surgery.

Well the only solution for me was to have foot surgery on my 2 feet with no regrets. I love the way my feet turned out great doctor as well it’s was painful and a slow recovery but worth it

I had bunion surgery on both feet years ago. Biggest mistake of my life! Now, the toe next to the big one can't straighten out, and is painful (both feet); and the big toe of the right foot climbs over the toe next to it. Painful and unsightly! Please do your research before having surgery!

As a podiatrist, I can’t agree with most of this advice! Once bunions developed and you are genetically prone it won’t really reverse but you can do things to help with the pain. Having a bunion doesn’t meant you need surgery however. That is only reserved for people with pain and that is the main thing being treated. Shoe wear makes a difference yes. Weight loss won’t really make a difference. I’m not sure how effective these exercises really are. Bunion pads are great! Again main indication for surgery is pain

You are in the field, you should come up with something for feet without surgeries, and make lots of money. Start with educating designers not to design weird toe shaped shoes for women.

I just noticed that I have one forming. I have large fee t, and when I was growing up, there weren't any fashionable shoes for me to wear. I always had room in my shoes for my toes to move. My P.A. told me that sometimes bunions are hereditary. Yay :/

I noticed a bunion on my right foot a few months ago. Incredible as it may seem, it was not because of wearing narrow shoes, but because I wore a boot a size bigger. As I live on a farm with very uneven terrain, I was forcing my support leg, mainly on the slopes, and that is how I hurt my right foot. I feel no pain and it is not swollen, but it is sad to see my foot slightly deformed. I'm using bunions pads and toe separators, and doing the exercises, I hope it gets better.

I used to wear toe spacers all the time. They shrank the bunion and it stopped developing. Now I just wear them at night and have no further problems.

Going barefoot as often as possible helped me a lot. It makes your feet stronger.
So true! Bunions run in my family. My daughter developed them at 8😪!. I noticed that they got better during the pandemic while we're home.

Surgery was not easy, still painful. My foot is still very wide and I had to get rid of all my old shoes.

Placing rubber bands around your two big toes together, then stretching them apart works. I'm doing that now. Thanks for other options.
