  • This is part two of making the new dining table for my parents. In this video, it's all about making the table base with traditional wooden joinery. I wanted to make this table base to be massive, good looking and very comfortable to sit at. Most modern designed table bases have at least one spot where it's just impossible or uncomfortable to sit. That's not the case with this design.
Not all of my current tools were up to the task though. So I asked Bosch to help me out with a circular saw and a track for it.
They equipped me with the circular saw 65 GCE Professional and matching tracks.
    Check out Bosch Professional:

I plan to make a video with additional information about this table as well as a Q&A. So if you have questions about this tabletop leave them under my comment. The video about the tabletop has a similar comment.

Did you select maple, cherry, beech and walnut only for aesthetic reasons? Using 4 different types of wood for one table propably isn't very common

    Panie Mariuszu,
szczerze podziwiam i zachwycam się pańską pracą. Stanowi ona fantastyczny balans pomiędzy użyciem nowoczesnych maszyn a najbardziej tradycyjnymi (w tym najlepszym sensie) technikami rzetelnego rzemiosła stolarskiego. Gdzie można radykalnie przyśpiesza pan pracę za pomocą maszyn jednak ostatni dotyk ręki mistrza to zwykłe dłuto (choć świetnie naostrzone) albo ręczny strug.
Zadziwia mnie poziom pańskich umiejętności: dogłębna znajomość właściwości drewna, dawnych metod stolarskich, artystyczna wizja i wyczucie przestrzenne.
