England bottled it. They reverted to type, absolutely terrified of taking risks with the ball and booting it down the field to nobody constantly. Scared of making a mistake and becoming the villain.

We allowed Italy to build momentum, and invited huge pressure. Their goal was worse than schoolboy defending, both Stones and Mount getting caught on the wrong side of the man.
