The author wants to say that the Italian team is special, unique by quoting the title of the song "Siamo solo noi" by Vasco Rossi. Also, "Noi" is pronounced "Nohy" not "Nwah", it is not French. XD

Well done Italy. You deserved the win. We just switched off after 20 mins into the game. England are no way ready to be crowned champions. We had the easiest run to the final other than Germany. All our games other than one was played on home soil. We had such an advantage. However Italy were just a different class…. Italy was England’s first real test in the euros and no way was Italy going to lose.
Italy’s comments on England are spot on. We’re a long way to even think about getting to that level.

I'm Italian and I really feel the need to thank you. Yours is the first honest, rational and pragmatic analysis of your team's journey I ever heard coming from an Englishman, weather a paid pundit or a normal lad writing on social media. Since I feel like I'm communicating with a reasonable person I also would like to tell you that outside your beloved island the approach you guys had towards your opponents was unanimously perceived as, let's say, cocky and presumptuous. I mean you guys started celebrating days before and literally established a national holiday before even entering the pitch if I heard correctly. Anyway, good luck for the world cup you have massive individual talent in your squad, I think is just a matter of giving a collective soul, a proper sense of togetherness.

As an Englishman who was devastated to see us lose on penalties during a European championship final I have to say Italy deserved to win. Way more adventurous, played with more passion, belief, and most importantly they played better football. Italy deservedly won this tournament. 🏴🇮🇹❤️

The funny thing is that if, on the contrary, you look at players' scores from English newspapers or outlets (take even Skynews for example) you'll get magnificent scores for English players and horrible scores for the Italian ones. It's almost like England has won, like they believe it was only bad luck, and that Italy wasn't dominating the match after the first 20 minutes.
I understand giving a high score to your players because there's no need to be jerks to players who are already heartbroken on top of that, but giving super low scores to the team who beated you and played a better football than you did for the majority of the match seems a bit of a stretch to me.

maybe Spain, maybe Danemark, maybe England, it isn't important what's the "euro champion country", the real winner is Luis Enrique, a man who showed what it means to be a great person. Too many England's supporters were pedantic and disrespectful, for this reason all countries are really happy that Italy is the European Champion, a squadra, without champions, but a group of young boys that are simply happy to play together.

We won on penalties. Honestly, we have lost so many times on penalties before that you’d think we would know the pain of losing and not be so exuberant . I felt more joy when we beat Belgium and Spain, as a footballing challenge , those games were our hardest. England were strange, they went 1-0 up and then proceeded to switch off. How much of that was our players adjusting and how much of that was England’s in ability to keep the ball, I’m not sure.
I like your humility when talking about your celebrations. To your last point, I'll give you my thoughts. First, Italy adjusted at half time absolutely brilliantly, which I really expected. Mancini showed his ability to do just that against Spain so why wouldn't he have the intelligence to do it against England? No surprise to me. England failed to respond at all. To get to half time still 1-0, England should have taken full advantage in the dressing room and identified the way Italy got hold of the game in the last 10 minutes or so of the first half, and addressed the problem but there was no tactical or personnel change at all. Chiesa showed a flash of lethal danger in the first half. England responded by giving him even more time and space in the 2nd half - an absolute terrible oversight, and he was playing more on the side (Italy left, England right) with a defensive right sided player in front of Kyle Walker (Trippier) so he definitely should have been completely controlled by England, but somehow the opposite happened. In addition to the brilliant Chiesa, England forgot their courage and composure. Every player including Kane retreated so whenever England won back possession, there was no out-ball and we saw a number of times the ball kicked long and out of play. This wasn't a rugby tactic. England left nobody up to relieve any pressure so there was no other way to buy some time to breathe. For this, England and Gareth Southgate will have the deepest regret of all. England's respect for Italy became fear, and that was the basis of their downfall. After Italy scored, it seemed to me they actually showed England a bit of mercy by not being so intense to attack, almost to be content with drifting to penalties. I know that isn't true, but there was a definite easing off after the equaliser and both sides had penalty area scrambles in extra time that could have fallen kindly to finish things before the last whistle. Italy would have had big regrets if England had somehow scored here. My over-riding feeling is for the memory of the horrific images from the beginning of the virus in Italy in April and May 2020, far worse than England suffered from it, and I'm happy that not only a very, very good and entertaining group of players take the trophy, but to a nation of people most in need of lifting up (alongside Spain, re: covid). As you say, it was only penalties, which is some consolation for England that they didn't get blown off the pitch, while Italy can rightly claim that penalties aside, they proved they were ready, more ready for this moment than England.

For the first 20 or 25 minutes. England backed by massive home support were winning the match. However then Italy's nerves settled down and they started playing the kind of beautiful artistic football that they are world famous for. At that point I knew Italy is going to win the match. Because England has not got anyone as talented or artistic as the Italians. Then Italy started mounting wave after wave of attacks on the English defence and it was only a matter of time before the would Strike. They did a just reward for frightening the English for about 30 or 35 minutes with the way they played reminds of the Serie A of the 1990s. At that point you can even feel watcing the match on TV the terrifying fear of the English crowd with the way Italy was playing. Really Italy should have won in normal time easy after that. But England valiantly kept it to 1-1 throughout extra time and penalties Then it went to penalties rest is history. I think people in England will be seeing nightmares of Italian players mounting wave after wave on a desperate and increasingly struggling English defence at Wembley between half time to full time for the rest of their lives. Nothing has scared the whole of England more than the way the gallant Italians played Wembley. Truly heroic stuff. If this was in Ancient Rome or Greece the poets would be writing plays about this event.

I would say better team won . Italy was the better one , dominated most of the game barring just first 15-20 min . After that 1st goal England were very over defensive rather
having attacking players . Just 2 shots on target . G.Southgate tactics were very defensive which is super negative thinking as per me . You just can't be so defensive & just sit on 1 goal lead against a side like Italy in finals . You got to play attacking and positive game and try to double your lead especially when u are 1-0 up infirst two minutes .

Italy have one against Spain but still they showed mental strength and bravery in that game which proved to more inportant than skill in that particular game in the end ,they didn't panicked then too like England did in this game .
