The english fans were really horrible in and out of the stadium, spitting and burning our flag, they started the party too early and got punished for this and then they waited our fans at the airport and punched, kicked, shouted against them, really the most unsportsman like in the tournament. Coming back to this video, as much as I feel the pain for the defeat, we didn’t play anywhere near as good as they did in the other games. Even though they lost they still reignited my love for football. One of the best times of my life. Honestly, we completely deserved this. We were absolutely shocking. Italy deserved to beat us by 2 or three goals in normal time, penalties should've never even been a factor. Our fanbase is utterly shit, yet we always talk about hooligans from other countries. We have an incredibly toxic football culture, and have a tendency to be incredibly delusional about how good we are. Everyone else across Europe wanted us to crash and burn, and I honestly can't blame them.
Well done to Italy, they played the best football out of any team throughout this tournament, and deserved this win a lot more than we did. Donnaruma was immense all the way through, and seems to have cemented himself as the guy who will dominate the footballing world as a goalkeeper for many years.
