  • A lot has been going on in Metal world over the last couple of months. And tomorrow we will have another reason to be excited because KORN will drop their 13th studio album "THE NOTHING". So I wanted to talk about where KORN, NU METAL and METAL overall are in 2019.

THE NOTHING is their best since UNTOUCHABLES! The more you listen to it, the better it gets. It reminds me of UNTOUCHABLES which is my fave Korn album. I myself get very excited every time they come out with an album 🤘🏾

I really did enjoy "Untitled", one of most the experimental albums by the band. And I think experimental is synonymous with KORN.

One band I suggest you check out is Cane Hill, they are pushing the Nu Metal sound really fucking well, creatively and have a variety of flavours. Also My Ticket Home, who with each album seem to catalogue the progression of early nu metal through to the end of what it became. Two quality bands.
The Nothing gave me goosebumps all the way through. As you know I am an old school, diehard Korn fan, and it is phenomenal album. Hope you enjoy it. Peace brother.

To this day Korn is the best live show I’ve ever seen back in 2000 ,they just killed it live!!

Seen them twice! But never with original lineup. You are lucky. I saw them when David and Head were out. But Joey Jordison was on the drums at one of the shows that was sweet and guitarist from Sevendust!

Good evening don’t have a lot of time so I can’t listen to all of your reviews so far I have liked what you have said with the exception that KoRn is still around and as you said is not afraid to experiment. Jonathan has enough music as a solo artist if he chose to and he does as well as head with love and death etc.
Big fan of Chino though can’t say too much anymore --KoRn has stood the test of time regardless ;I will listen to the rest of your broadcast and review and I will reply again my friend.

Rock and Metal are far from dead. As long as there are people and kids that feel disenfranchised and alienated from everyone else, there will always be rock and metal. I'm so sick of people saying rock and metal are dead. As far as I am concerned, rap and pop are dead because most of the artists who get big in those genres (with a few exceptions) become has beens within a couple of years. Most pop and rap artists have no staying power. All the rock and metal bands that have been around for decades have substance and huge followings. Even some newer bands that have popped up are slowly building their followings and will be around for decades like their predecessors. Yeah, there are some bad rock and metal bands but, we don't hear much from them anymore or are mostly hated.

Well, that’s true for those who care about music and seek it out. But rock/metal music has not been very well exposed or represented in recent years, but I feel like that is changing now. You know for teenagers these days rap really acts as that safe heaven that was always a rock music part... now rap artists that grew up on Emo and bands like Linkin park bring those influences into rap... I am still not sure how I feel about it, but I guess it’s better than gangster rap and stuff like that from 10 years ago or so... but women are still usually treated like trash in rap music today. I mean in their lyrics

Good evening not able to listen to the entire review when I get back .comparison between a catalog of Metallica versus KoRn
Is right on since Jonathan has a ton of unpublished music for solo purposes as well as for the group I will leave you with that be back on later.✌️

    Korns first 2 albums aren't nu-metal.
Nu-Metal metal really started in 1997/1998 but became established in 1999, lost popularity in 2003 and died in 2005.

That simple huh? To me as I said Korn is Korn. But it is for the first time I hear someone say that first 2 Korn albums aren’t Nu metal. If you think about it first 2 albums of Deftones are widely regarded as Nu Metal and I think for a good reason. So how does that compute if it wasn’t a thing in 94-95 and was NOT pioneered by Korn according to you. Just because the title Nu metal was not applied in the early days does not mean that certain bands don’t belong to it. When metal music happened i bet no one knew how to call it but it doesn’t mean that Black Sabbath’s first album isn’t metal. That being said my position on labelling bands is clear in the video here however it is sometimes necessary to label so we could understand what we are talking about. I think it is only over time a band can establish if they are just trend followers or trend setters. In case of Korn I think the latter is true. Long topic, I have plenty of videos on this maybe you’d be interested to check them out. Peace
