So Cool!!! So good to see the Legendary 78 year old Lloyd! Great memories from Canada to tide me over the Australian winter :)
Looks like a fun time!
Congratulations on your find.. My husband and I loved gold panning. Unfortunately, he recently passed away.. I miss it and I miss him 😢
I'm sorry for your loss
Deepest Sympathy to you and your family.
Sending my love and understanding.
Paranormal?
He never went away. If you're paranormal that is.
At ER waiting for a scan (cancer complications) and catching the première! Thanks you so much Dan ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I hope all goes well for ya. 🤗
Hope all goes well! 🙏
Well wishes🙏🏻
Sending well wishes!💛
Best wishes!! Fuck cancer
As a Dutch guy, and rock/mineral enthousiast, I just gotta say I'm quite jealous of the wonders a mountainous terrain can give you! It must be fantastic to have access to places like the Fraser. Even just all the different coloured pebbles you get in your pan are quite beautiful to me. We dont have anything that comes close to mountains/rivers like this here in the Netherlands!
So much bright gold just brightens my day,
Together with your positive energy ofcourse!
Thanks for sharing this Dan, and keep it up!
That is very kind of you. Cheers!
What kind of Stones do you have there?
I’m with you 100%! Such a beautiful place to prospect!
Come visit! British Columbia is full of Dutch folk the emigrated here!
If you're ever out in north central California, I'll gladly take you out detecting for nuggets and panning / sluicing for gold. You too Dsn.
What a positive personality.
Sunday afternoons are made for watching Dan Hurd videos. Look forward to it every week. Looks like some great gold you got there today!
Dan, great video as always, I found an easy way to remove black sands from your pan and I'd like to share it. Take a small neodymium magnet in a plastic bag and roll it across the pan it will suck it up and look like a sea anemone put it into a secondary pan because some of the goods will pull in because of the force but it really seems to speed up the clean up process. Hope this is useful thanks for the video.
I absolutely love this method. We have a lot of black sand here in Oregon, and my finer golds take forever to separate from it pan only.
Mmmm I do this too, I don’t get much black sand where I’m at but this helps remove those last few pesky pieces!
You could do the same thing with a pill bottle as well and let the magnet fall to the other side to get it to release the sand. If you got really fancy, you could attach a rod and ring to the magnet in a pill bottle and extend the rod through the bottle lid and attach the ring there, and the other side to the magnet. As you move the bottle through the sand, stuff sticks, then you pull the ring to retract the magnet and release the sand. Big floor magnets for picking up nails and screws use aluminum bodies with this method.
It was soo nice to finally meet you ❤ I absolutely love the pieces we purchased from you at the BC rock and gem show 💌 Thank you for the amazing videos you post for us all to enjoy, aswell as all the hard work you put into everything you do. Also, a very happy Mother's Day to your beautiful wife, Dayna 💌💐
Dan, as always, your enthusiasm and pure joy at what you're doing shines through and makes watching these vieos a high point in my day. Thanks so much!
I once sluiced all day for as many specs as you were getting in each pan haha.
Wow! Lots of gold! And yes I enjoy the slow motion!
Thank you!
I really enjoy your respect for nature, your fellow prospectors and your compliance with the rules (even if some are a bit silly). Enjoyable and informative.
It's neat seeing garnets, agates, etc. in with your gold cons. Thanks!
Dan Hurd should be on a coin or a stamp, the face and character of the gold miners of yesteryear embodied in a wonderful modern day man. Thank you for all of the wonderful educational and fun videos throughout the years, I have learned so much from you.
I love your videos. Your enthusiasm for nature and geology really shine through the content. I really enjoy your very positive attitude and outlook. Your personality really makes these videos something special. Such positivity seems a rare thing these days online. Greetings from Switzerland.
These folk seem to have all the right practical tools and be organized. Cool!. Enjoy your adventures always.
That one pan is more than I get doing a 8 hour day at the public fossiking area on the east coast of nz
That second pan you showed was AMAZING !
Thanks Dan for another great fun filled video...i can practically hear 🎵 The Ecstasy Of Gold playing in the background 🎶🎵 👍
My boys ( thanks for the pictures on Friday) are interested in panning now. My youngest just turned 7. He binge watched your shorts Friday night. Even my wife watched this video. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing Dan! I hope you had a great weekend celebrating Mothers Day with your awesome family.

Once again, great content Dan! 4:15 there is such a cool banded rock, not sure what it is, but man is it pretty! The colors stand out among all the other rocks.
Thanks for the post very interesting, informative, just love watching with every wave more GOLD show over blacksand
Stuck in Pennsylvania watching you. It drives me crazy living in such a no gold state. Great video
Nice Gold Dan.. Cheers from Ontario Canada all the best Cheers!🍁🍁👍👍
I recognize that spot !!! , that's the spot that you made todays video at , no ? 😂.
All I can think of (for background music is) rock & roll when you move big rocks out of the way!
Thanks Dan for always sharing your teachings with us, I love to learn with you and appreciate also taking us with you to so many places -- hand shake from Costa Rica
@Dan Hurd Enjoying your videos. Something that you might not be aware of with old Lead. When Lead is mined - or exposed to the elements, it gives off a set amount of alpha radiation. The older that the Lead is, the lower it emits this alpha radiation. When they pull Lead ingots out of old ship wrecks, they will typically send some ingots for testing. If the Lead is old enough, the alpha radiation is low enough to be used in semi-conductors. This make the Lead much more valuable.
What a great day Dan , Hi to ur friends ☺️ .... 💌😇
another great video coming up
Hi Dan, thank you so very much for all the Channel content and the hard work that is involved. I have been wondering if you might cover on some possible future content the process that you use for selling all the gold that you find. Seems like a very interesting subject with all the unknown information to some of us viewers. Thank you again for everything.
Have a shot every time he says “Fraser River,” 😂
DAN, RESPECT to you for NOT showing where you're at!!!
I would love to see a video of the lady behind the curtain, Dana, and all that she does to assist you in your family to make your business successful. I know it's a team effort, and I truly look forward to this channel, and a few others, each week.
Meanwhile, you need a road trip to Michigan and especially the UP Copper Range area. Michigan has a great span in geology, especially mining.
Noted!
Thank you Dan.
That looks mighty fine
I love your enthusiasm! Great video!
Love your vids, ever back in Washington would love to meet ya, get some recreational panning tips. Any ways, take care and enjoy the good wheather
Amazing, good job
Your gold panning videos are the absolute best

Wow that's a shiny pan Dan!! Great videos brother.
Thank you Dan
Get that man a Gold Hog sticker! Stat!
I enjoy the slo mo
Dan, when you are showing the macro-camera close up "money shot" of the fine gold pieces have you ever considered putting a penny or some other recognizable object in the shot next to the gold for visual context? Just a thought
Eagerly awaiting every installment, and like I've stated before, the shiny is awesome, but it's the follow along on your adventures that brings the heart rate up!
Thank you my brother!
Hey, Dan, could you make a video on the prospectors etiquette when working on a claim
Nice work and nice gold and video
Good stuff
Nice video! We like learning new stuff." Collecting black sands"
Thanks for another fun informative video Dan. I have an opportunity to pan a claim on the Fraser later this summer.
Dan Hurd, it was an excellent video, loved seeing you move around and doing pan's at different parts of the Fraser. Thar one pan that you wanted counted, I lost count at 456 pieces lol. Hope to see more.
Hey Dan I love the content just ordered a pendant from you the other day really love everything keep up the great work!
Right on Dan thanks Brother nice looking Gold I love it 😀
there's dan loading his pan again lol
Jealous of this life. Would be so wonderful to prospect/mine like this all day
More fun in the sun..., and cold water. Wish I was there.
Hope you get an awesome year for finding gold all year 😂
Nice gold Dan!
love the slow motion :D
Let’s go. See some shiny gold!!!
Hey Dan! I love your enthusiasm for life! How do you get rid of the mercury once it’s all over your gold in the snuffer bottle?
Awesome gold hunt well done sir thank you for sharing this six stars
Wow. Congratulations on the good panful. Makes up for a lot of skimpy ones, huh?
I would have jug lines or bottom fish lines in while I am panning. Might as well eat good while you're there.

Thank you Dan for sharing your fun.
They are always one step away from causing trouble ❤❤❤❤
Saw the title and thought you most be on the Frazier River.
Great video Dan. I love the mix of stuff. I assume you make a living with UA-cam not gold yes? I sure would like to get into UA-cam… I am big in adventure and gold. Sure would be cool.
Great stuff as always. Question? Do you ever find agates or an other semi precious gems there when panning?
I think I know that spot. It's in BC along the Fraser River.
So if a person were inclined, would stacking boulders at the edge of the river like riffles make them act as continuous gold traps similar to how the way the people that dive for gold with vacuum dredges operate? If it did work, it would only be easily accessible for a couple of weeks per year.
The Pickerton Peanut 😆
Dan is the Man
Dan is the man with a gold pan
Also please how do you correctly take care of the mercury covered gold? Thankyou you for your teaching
Good
Thanks for the geology lesson bud
Greetings from the BIG SKY
This kind of material you had in that last pan, that's what those spiral concentrators are made for right? The really fine stuff?
Hey! I know that spot: it’s…
The Frazier River. [ba dum tss] 🤣
I was too late for the premiere today, but it was a great video, Dan!
We’re good with that
When are you going to visit New Zealand, like Pauli Has, =I expect he has no regrets,
If you find Greenstone in the South Island Rivers, you can keep it,
Thats a Honeymoon theme Topic?
Our currency rate is Very Low.
You ever found a big nugget Dan? Like 10 plus grams?
You commented a couple of times on the mercury... You've never done a video on what you do with your mercury amalgam... Could we get one?
Dan, you’re scaring the fish away.
Hi! Are you having any problems with fires? I heard on the news that there is a fire in BC, I dont know where,
You've got to respect the claim owner's privacy and thank them for allowing you to tag along and prospect their claim. I wouldn't want the public knowing exactly where either.
I am just getting started prospecting/panning. How do you remove the Mercury from the gold?
Id love to poke around there just to go rock hounding.
