- Historic Documents point towards some significant gold at Cerro Gordo. After doing some research and finding some clues, Jason, Brent and I set off to see if we can find any evidence of the MASSIVE amount of gold they supposedly found back in the day at Cerro Gordo.

Yeah but Dan's channel seems like he's still connected to his viewers. Brent however is entirely focused on turning CG into a profit machine.

@@MickH60 how is it rubbish when you literally just said what I did in a different way? Don't get it twisted, I love both groups. There is something to be said about someone who is business oriented, and something different to be said about being people oriented.

The gold is on the east side of the mountain. Down for the ridge to the bottom. I think four gold mines. Good gold!
I managed 8 miles on my old GT, ended up going along with a bunch of strangers on bikes cruseing along. Love it😂

I went gold prospecting once, all I found was rubbish and foil. Mainly because the disused gold mines were next to a rubbish dump.
That wasn't surprising. Theres been quite a few attempts to find gold up there. Its just not a gold producer. But the silver content is worth extracting the lead.

They did have some epic rains not too long ago, so it may have been washed downstream.
A good place to find gold ore is the omega tunnel dump.
My son and I are now planning on staying at that hotel. I wonder how much missed gold/silver is left in those tailings?

The medal ring Dan found is most defiantly a saddle ring. Now all you need is a saddle in need of repair and a mule.
MRDS shows gold listed as tertiary for almost every single mine in that area which isn't a soapstone or talc mine. No question lead was first with a bit of silver, zinc, and copper too. I'll bet the gold is running with the lead and you need to cupel the lead away to find it.
It would certainly be an interesting video, testing some of the gallina for gold.

@ 9:15 , Look right above the gelina , to the right. Zoom in. That's a speck of gold showing on the surface , next to a yellowish spot inside the rock. I suspect that is the nugget setting off the detector.
Dan. That's the biggest drawback on detecting old mines. It's just littered with trash. AND. 1800s to WW2 cobblers used shoe nails. And I have dug deep only to recover a lead bullet. Virgin ground is hard to find. None the less. Great video. And yes your gonna dig trash. ❤

Maybe that country is so arid it's limited to smaller and fewer weather events capable of moving gold downhill. What if you prospected higher up, or was that the highest bedrock you could locate in the wash?

Brent needs to buy a table from Jason and set up a crusher ahead, with a shaker table with panning area! To just work that material instead of shipping the shit to Jason’s house!
When you say, look for any gold that made it to the top, there are a couple of ways gold can make it to the top. 1. Geologically, pushed up by geothermal activity (I am a layman so it may be called something else). 2. Weather, when the the ground stopped moving up, the weather wore it down exposing gold bearing rock. 3. Human activity, old miners digging and mining for gold could have left some gold in their tailings or discard.
Am I close? I'm trying to learn from you guys. I'm am going to see if I can open a claim in WA state, just a river claim, and a small operation, not looking to rip up trees and all that. I will look for ancient river runs, if I can find them, and do some sampling then figure out what to do from there.

If you have a pan with crushed material in it that still has gold in it as well as crushed that doesn’t have gold in it. Will the parts that have gold in it get to the bottom of the pan while the other stuff stays on the top ?
Im not sure my question makes sense… if not then too bad 😂😅
