  • Big Gold is almost always found on bedrock, and usually in crevices. The deeper the better. In this video I take @mbmmllcJason from Mount Baker Mining and Metals @mbmmllc to gold pan the Fraser river at one of my best bedrock claims. Great Gold and Great fun was had by all.

Dan: The double stitched knee pockets of your trousers...Cut a piece of rubber floor padding, fold/compress and feed it in the bott vent...expand it out flat....built in knee pads.. I don't notice them while walking, but nice for kneeling...Try it! I can cut you some if you want..or sent you pic.s of how to! OHH YA...Pam washes my trousers with the pads in, no problem!

I was shingle roofing when I married my first wife. she took bath towels cut up and folded abut four layers thick and sewed them into the area just below the knees of my Levi jeans. Could not see them from outside but man did they feel good for working without the straps of regular knee pads cutting into the back of the leg. As the jean material wore though she would sew a patch to the outside. Did not look fancy but got a lot more life out of them while still being as comfortable as anything else I had used. Working piecework I made a lot of money that way.

They were finding fist size pieces of gold, one of which was +/- 75 ounces. Just thought of that and hoping that someday you'll get such a large nugget on your Pickerton claim. I really enjoy and look forward to each one of your video's and also the one's with Jason.

Hey dan, maybe a dumb suggestion but how about making a long tube so you can reach out into the water and try sucking from random cracks/etc while standing on dry ground? Might take a bit of thinking on how to get enough vacuum power from a milwaukee battery setup or something but maybe something to try. Maybe a lift pump setup with foot valves internally then you could just pull and push to pump on it like a yaggi but you dont have to pull it out every time.

Haven't really started my day, despite being up a couple of hours. But I get to watching videos and forget to eat or take meds. Yesterday I went out to a brewery and did a reunion of my high school. The whole school. There were probably 40 people tops. I mean, I'm 70 and I was probably the youngest person there... I'm in Texas and we had a cold front yesterday, the warmest it got was 71, and that was about mid-morning. It was a blowing 60 something, then the rain came. We had one hard cloud burst during the reunion, but we were in a covered area. When I drove home - a 30 mile trip - I did hit a couple of light rains. Then, about 9:30 the sky opened up. I was glad I was home. I brought the old dog (15) in.
Right now it is 60. I know, I hear you "But 60 isn't cold!" Lets remember in Texas we have already hit a low 90s! (I'll try to figure out the centigrade. 60 F =15 C 90 F =32 C)
