I knew better than to put this car on a lift... I didn't want to see how bad it was 😂
LOL
I bought this model Diamante from my father who had it since new and it was in pristine condition. I can’t remember what issue it developed after driving it for years but I traded it in at a Mitsu dealer and they were going nuts about how it looked brand new inside and out. I felt very luxurious driving that thing around 🙌🏼
It's definitely been a great first car for me. 200k miles and its held up well.
I’m a huge fan of the Diamante!!! This has always been one of my favorites! I hope to see more content on it! Maybe I’ll get to own it one day! 💪🏼
I hope that whomever used your shop isn't allowed to use it again. That's a serious lack of respect. If they do that, you know that whatever they were working on was done half assed.
You’re correct on all counts.
You should've asked for your money back.
Sir your rent felt like telling adults not to act like children; relatable !
I love cross over video’s. Mike and JR. Nice to see the UA-cam community are all pals.
I love seeing you guys interact. Its like Law & Order crossover episodes lol.
That Diamante is excellent!!! Used to want one so bad
I have one of these in Australia. Well looked after they are very comfortable cars to drive. We call them a Verada. Fuel is an issue, but you guys have much cheaper fuel. If it is not rusty it would be a great project car for $400. At this sort of mileage, valve cover leaks are very common, and not hard to change. Older transmissions may have an external filter on top of trans, newers do not. flush brakes, transmission and steering system, change timing belt and water pump etc. as you do not know its history. Change fuel filter and all air filters. These are a mechanically sound car if looked after properly.
Great video, won't take much to get the Diamante back into shape. I see you still have the Avant, love that wagon.
It would be great to see you do one of your old school type videos with this Mitsubishi.
I don't think it will happen
I like it, Make her a safe driver for someone!
I hope the video does well, this poor abandoned critter should get one more chance
I really hope this video does well, these cars are actually very special too me, my grandmother had one (2001 Magna V6 Si, pretty rare model, funnily enough it was the same colour too, just didn't have a beige or a leather interior) for about 13-14 years, and the thing never broke from what I remember, in 2015 she traded it in on a brand new Corolla hatchback which is what she drives today. Once fixed up, this will make a very good car for somebody for many years to come, these 6G74's are pretty hard to break!
I hope someone restores this car, the Diamantés are staring to gain popularity again
Honestly, the entire time watching this video I had a smile on my face 😊
Seen this on i think Instagram. I haven’t seen one of these in quite awhile. Good deal for 400. Hopefully the video does well wanna see you fix it up!
I hope you can fix it up decent! I would like to see that 👍
Auto auctions doesn't rebuild anything 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I choked on my lunch
Should be called Auto Auction Carwasher
Go for it, Randy! Do some wrenchin' on that Diamante!
Bring'er back to driveability!
Easy to get parts here in australia as its a australian made car isa a magna verry relable
I love those old Saturn's 😍
Someone has a serious lack of respect for your shop hate to see laziness in folks doing a job! Anyway I'm rooting for a decent rebuild be well Randy!
Love to see someone work on an older crx
Hhm... interesting question. Can a bunch of tubers each putting a couple of hundred bucs into a has been car and passing it on to the next tuber revive a car to a somewhat pristine condition and ultimately donate it to a charitable cause ? Will it make it to Barret Jackson ?
Nice work Randy absolutely love all your videos of all your content I always hit the thumbs up button and I always share your videos you are a great is great producer of UA-cam content
The Western European equivalent of the Diamante was sold as 'Sigma'. Fairly popular and luxurious model in the mid-nineties actually. Downside was the degree of depreciation compared to German cars of that period of time. Second hand these were great value for money.
I still regret not buying a Sigma station wagon 4wd when I had the chance..
Put stuff back the way you found it. I’m so with you on that one.
My mum had a 1999 Mitsubishi Verada Xi. Lovely car and she sold it for $500 after spending $2500 on new tires and cats. I would have bought it if I knew she was getting rid of it. All it needed was a new headliner and had only 102,000 k's on it. I didn't know it was a timing belt, so that was due.
I had an ‘01 Diamante and I loved it. Wish I still had it. It jumped time and wasn’t worth it to fix. Interior was in tip top shape and the exterior had two rust holes above both rear wheels. Wish I would’ve taken the time and money to get it running and fix those two rust holes. Great car!
Same here I had a 01 also . I kept it for long distance driving , I stacked 120,000 in 2 years , I sold it 2 years ago an have regretted it ever since . My new long distance car is not no where near as awesome has that bishi.
How do you figure it wasn't worth it to fix?
I was told that the entire engine would need to be removed to fix it and that there would be more money in labor hours and parts than the car was worth. Hindsight….I should’ve just done it.
@@kevinthompson3776 I understand mechanics like to tell customer that crap, but what you spent on your car, a car you know, still would be cheaper than buying another car you don't know and that could blow up the next day. The throw away society that is the US just amazes me.
A transmission goes out, junk it. A blown head gasket, junk it. Fix what you have and you know it is a good car.
Whoa! Who are you to judge? Your comment should’ve been kept to yourself. Another problem with society…. People that judge others even though they don’t know them and hide behind a keyboard thinking they can say whatever they want. Go away.
10:02. Take it to Copart I guess. All the hard works been done right ? 😆😆
Honestly these cars a great cars if you take care of em and if your first time driver I got mine at 230k miles for 650$ and I drove it for a year without alot of maintenance and it still held up for me transmission was great the whole time except for the time I forgot to add more to it 🤦♂️🤦♂️but when I really started to pay attention to my vehicle and care for it the cars was really really great I wish I still had it today I sold it with 264k miles and got additional profit of it as well but I say that to tell you don't give up on the car the 3.2 v6 in the diamente was the same in my galant and it has 195 hp with 215 ft lb torque that's why it hits like that and honestly I had a lot of bragging rights when I raced a couple of newer vehicles and I actually beat them stock was just mind blowing but those are really great cars
Some people should be banned permanently from owning cars.
-Randy of AAR (2022)
That’s called our Mitsubishi verada here in Australia 🇦🇺 back in the day lol
There is a specific way to fill the transmission. There is some information online about them (most likely on the Mitsubishi Magna forums)
Great one and car😀
These were built in my state in australia [south Australia] its called a mitsubishi magna Verada here
Classic🔥
What happens if you press both buttons on the centre console lid?
We used to put pump up air shocks on our towing vehicles. Just an idea that may be a cheaper option.
My thought exactly. Much cheaper option.
I was looking at my local wreaking yards and I see there is a 98 Diamante at TearAPart in Ogden UT. It's about 40 miles away from me so I have no idea what good parts it still has. If there is anything you can't find, I'd be willing to head up there and check it out. They may have some of the parts I need for an HHR I'm fixing up too.
Built as Magna/ verarda
Yes definitely put helper air bags on it. I have the same truck an man it is amazing an easy to install .
What a neat little car I've never seen one myself that I know of.. hope u can fix the power steering idk if it's worth that much tho. Money iz money
Hi Randy!
I love to see this car on your channel. Have been following the Diamante on Watchjrgo's channel too.
I think it deserves to be put back on the road. These are very rare cars and at the time they were new they were far ahead of their time and competitors.
In fact the Diamante doesn't need that much. A few flex pipes, à new brakefluid resevoir cap, some new tires, a good clean and new valvecover gaskets as well as à tune up. I bet you won't recognize it again after this work.
Also, put a used powersteering pump on it as well as a powersteering fluid flush. I bet the powersteering system will perfectly work again.
Thanks for bringing thé Diamante to your channel.
Greetings from Holland👌❤️💖
Hi Randy there known to do time belts.water pump runs off.i had one in Australia they call magna I see did belt first thing happy new year
Agree. Daily driver. Not worth non essential cosmetic stuff. Could be a decent transportation car for someone.
Love these. Have always thought they were cool and quite comfortable. I remember seeing them when they were new. Can't wait for more videos on this Randy.👍👍
AAR are you going to do the timing belt?
Now this is the content I missed
I got jelous last year when you got your lift so I had to have one, I love my lift, I just got to finish getting better. I been doing good Randy since leaving the hospital, I am able to do things now, I hope this weekend I start wrenching on my red Nissan, and I get that runnning there 4 more Nissan Sentras that need repairs. I think you got an awesome deal on the Mitsubishi, I would love to own that ole girl. I dig these older Jananese cars. I share your page on my facebook and talk about you on my UA-cam channel. I hope my mechanic comes to help me then I be in business again, YouTubin! You and WAtchJRgo are my favorite of all. PLEASE SAVE THE MITSUBISHI OR SELL IT TO ME, THAN i WILL SAVE HER.
Hope the views come. I love seeing projects like this being done.
I want to see more with this car
I'd love to see this thing brought up to spec. I'm new to your channel and love your stuff. Keep up the good work.

Love that Detroit Diesel blue on the Fiat/MG whatever’s engine!
I'm here to help boost views lol. I'm excited about the mustang videos coming up.. I actually just bought a 93.
Oh yea I have definitely have had some beaters one I usto hafto push start it because the starter went 😅
Noice been waiting for this
The Mitsubishi diamante is my childhood. My grandmother owned one.
Your rant was great ;treat people's things with respect
Purple head liner😎
I put an interstate battery back then in 2001 also 😂
Too funny. Mitsu 3000GT engine cradle. Lancer rear suspension bits. Eclipse switchgear. It's a rolling monument to Mitsu suppliers of the 90's. An Evo passed me today and I thought of this. Good luck! Still wondering why it had to go to AAR via Derby KS and from OKC. Do you live in Wakita or something?
Your videos are always so crisp and clear. What camera are you using? Love the content
Just a GoPro 10
Eric Thank You! 👍😃
Hey Randy , whats up my Dude , I love this diamante man lovely thing , I indeed one or two years ago I was about to buy this but a 2004 somethin' model , and I really did fall in love with it at first sight , seeing all the options and how sleek and long it was gave a small mercedes type experience you know after using small cars but anyways I really loved it so I loved this beauty of yours as well awesome for the price I would just get it as close to OEM as possible they're pretty tough tanks man , no joke mitsubishi has always built some reliable , hey I now have 2007 Lancer GL and I pretty MUCH didn't know it was low on on transmission fluid , like really dangerously low!!! almost non-existent and the the guy who was servicing it was surpised how it even survived and so I always stand by Mitsubishi's man they are a Good Automobile manufacturer . Stay safe man , Hope you turn this into a beauty , Go for the paint it deserves it , can't wait for the Mustang episodes and the mods and work you goin' for on it , TC , God bless!!
A good buy...
Fix power steering, replace raggity heat shield on hood, replace valve cover gaskets, power wash under car, replace tail light and grill, replace brake fluid and gasket. If you plan on selling at auction, I wouldn't replace tires.
Restore the car, I hardly see any on the road anymore. Can you try to find a 1975 - 1977 Ford Granada? My great aunt use to own one and I always wanted to see one fully restored.
Kinda funny how in Australia those old magnas and veradas (Diamantes) are completely worthless. They leak, the burn out, blow piston rings, gearboxs crap them self. Just all round cheap junky cars!
stay safe from Rensselaer Indiana
Na key ring?
Try to get that headliner clean. That would be interesting.
I’d like to see you fix this car and make it a good daily driver for someone.
Hey Randy nice change of pace! Still hoping for a daily double. Thanks
Randy, i forgot to comment about the people you had working and they left your garage a mess, when that happens to me and it usually my brother, throwing crap all over or leaving tools out, i get pissed off like no bodys business, nothing worse than to spend 2-4 hopurs looking for missing tools or they like kicked to the side. I dont tolarat that one bit, and I wouldnt let them back in your garage again, you worked so hard so you can be somebody that reaches thousands of people and your garage is your stage bro, you cant have that going on. I know the feeling. or touching your stuff and leaving it open another petpev also.
Where is the Mitsubishi made ?
Built in South Australia Australia
I hope you picked the keys up off the trailer fender before you left~!
I like this new car, really fun I wanna see more so bad, its just a Japanese junky that needs more love and itll run nicely I know for sure.
Mitsubishi diamanté they only made a few of those vehicles they are very hard to fine if you can get one in good shape they still have to be maintenance.
Been waiting for this video so bad!!! Bring this car back to Beauty please🖤🤘
A Tune Up, Valve Cover Gaskets, Tires and i would drive the hell out of that Car.
Undercarriage cleaning will do the trick to get rid of all old oil and grease.
Huh. Wonder if this is the collab that’ll skyrocket your subs
Hi how are you ? In what state does he live and also the cars that he is seeing what is the problem that they have I do not drink a blow
Good morning randy went is the mustang video coming.
Nice content 👌. Let's get fixing
Thats a Damm good battery don't be so hard on yourself its people are jurks sometimes its not on you they have other things going on and they take it out on you.

Please do. It will be fun.
Cool 😀
My best friends brother has a black version of this car just sitting abandoned in their yard now it’s sat all summer it’s the newer one with the split hood grill. Its beat to shit tho 😂😂
