- Cruising Home from the Spring Fling with the camera running. 1958 Plymouth Josephine and 59 Dodge, Still nameless.
"Josephine" was sold this year (2018) to a guy from Sweden.
He has a Classic Car Museum in Florida USA, and the car will be there.
The car has a 318 engine, with dual four barrel carburetors.
Gary
Wow, the '58 Fury looks just as awesome in reality as it did in the film
One of the most beautiful cars ever
say that again
Which one bro
@@shouldercrow_8825the fury obviously
Now these cars ARE real highway cruiser. It's just awesome. Thanks for uploading!
I love the old 58 Plymouth. Very nice.
Attention Please!
Christine is a Killer Car!!!
Love this Car!!!
i wish i had a plymouth fury from 1958
So do i
Unfortunatley that plymouth happens to be the prettiest car on that highway in this day and age. Most of the other vehicles are not cars but bland boring pods.
matrox Unless it’s a Dodge Challenger.
@@monsterjambrony then it's a box....
London Ghoul Channel No it’s not.
We need old style cars to come back
yes. the 1958 Plymouth Fury was a damn Beautiful Beast at the time.
two of my dreamcars! these to (and of course the 59 eldorado) has the most agressive looks on any car from any decade! I envy you both, you are two lucky owners! :)
2 of my favorite cars from the 50's!
OO===V===OO Christine!!!
Haha nice lights and grille
Body by Plymouth, soul by Satan.
@@NateCraven318 Body by Trabant, soul by Stalin.
DAMN,..a 58 fury still is (and always will be) the most awsome car EVER
Nice video. Looks like a good day. That 58 looks amazing
Minus the other 'poor excuses' for vehicles, it would have been neat to witness those two classic beauties going along the highway together...like stepping back to the late 1950's! Glad you recorded this, Gary! :D
Damn I want that 58 fury so bad😍
never ever will those cars with fins stop to attract me. It is so beautiful, i would die for the looks. Greets from germany.
0:17 I could listen to this all day!
Every so often, I'll circle back to this video... I love it!
The beautiful sound of a 4 barrell carburator :)
I just turned 40 in 2022 and I wish I could get Christine... legends never die.
To the owners of both of these cars: It is GREAT to see these machines out on the highway ~ thank you! Yes, it is nice to look at them close up at a show, but to see them in action on the interstate is mezmorizing and a special treat for fellow motorists. Drivers in their hybrid-techo-buckets are thinking twice about what they are in when they see these cars.
I’d love to own ether a 58 dodge and a 58 Plymouth and seeing both! That’s awesome.
Christine really is such a sexy car
Bo Moran I don't think that word is necessary for just a vintage car!
So jealous. I want to have a go at driving her!
There is no way, no freaking way ANY modern car will ever last as long as these classics have. Impossible.
@1959CustomRoyal I have a 58 and the transmission leaked where the shifter cable enters the transmission housing. It has a rubber "O" ring on it that disintegrates over time and fluid leaks out of the shifter cable . Replace the 'O" ring and you'll be good to go !
Great video, Thanks for posting.
I love the tailights on the 59 Dodges, and man dont even get me started on how MEAN the freaken front end looks! Looks like its gone eat you! Great choice:)
Both are really cool cars!
Hey Iontc12, I drive a 1955 dodge custom royal every single day, its a 40 mile round trip commute and she doesn't give me any trouble, no seat belts or any other safety devices for that matter and I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world!!
Noiceeee! I own a condition 2 1958 Fury. I approve!
1958 Plymouth... That was when American car companies were at its PEAK in creation, safety and distinction. Late 50s and early early 1960s styling. Look at the beautiful lines of that Plymouth going down the highway. That's when they made real cars. Right there. Those are real cars. Real iron!! Note the duals, I bet those sure sound great out of that 318.
@SpinMaster08 '58 Fury was also available with a 350 CID version of the "B" series wedge V8 (related to 361 and 383 CID "B" V8s). With dual quads, the 350 CID was rated at 305 HP (compared to 290 HP for the dual quad/hot cam 318 V8).
this is zhe most beauty car that i have erver seen!
i love the plymouth fury always have but its time to see it in a different color
What a great clip! Had me grinning ear 2 ear!
That was 2008.
The 59 Had a low compression Chrysler 400 Engine but had a hot
cam and "Freeway Gears" (276) so it didn't have a "Lotta Trouble"
with Christine, alto She runs very nicely with the 318 and dual Fours
and a hot cam.
The 59 Dodge now "Sports" a built 440 acutally 446 CI, aluminum heads,
Dual Fours, 9.8 to 1 Compression,--- etc etc. It dynoed out at 476 HP and 530 FtLb or Torque, all on 87 Octane gas,
Both cars are fun to drive and fun to ride in.
Gary, March 2011
WOW 2.. THIS IS SO GREAT !!! THIS WILL BE SO GREAT SOMEONE SAID...TWO CHRISTINES WHERE DO SEE THAT ??? BUT YOURS A CONVERTABLE YA!!! DIFFERNT.. GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
See, today, most of the cars are Boooorrrrriiiinnnnggggg!
I have the biggest grin on me right now
Christine forever...........
That Fury needs a bit wider tires, some suspension upgrades and a big block.
I’m building mine as a resto-mod. It looks stock but doesn’t behave stock....lol.
"Close", actually two ,4r barrel carburetors, in both cars!
Gary
It's not every day you get to race Christine and live to talk about it :)
I'm planning on buying a Christine car!
Amazing day! Amazing coincidence!
You go christine show them who's boss ❤ & the most beautiful too.❤
looks like I'm watching myself ;)
@SpinMaster08 Yes the car is a Belvedere, as was Christine. This car's name is "Josephine". She indeeds runs a 318 with a hot cam and 2 , four barrels.
Gary
I Love It-great video!!!!!
You want to jump start the US economy and bring back our auto manufacturing world dominance? Start cranking out classic car designs again (with modern safety features). I would snatch up a reproduction '57 Bel Air or '58 Plymouth before the paint could dry! Vehicles today all look like the same generic crap, year after year. Zzzzzz.
Molasar you just gave me an idea buddy im making a new car manufacture and im bring back the old and making it the new
exactly what I say. Right on mai dude
Mine as well 57 bel air or 58 fury
@@Dat_boi_Eli_ shut up and take my money haha
Agree I can't tell Honda Civic from a normal Honda car there generic but a 58 Plymouth like Christine is my type of car
Incredible!
Probably the only thing "Meaner Looking" than a 58 Plymouth is a 59 Dodge?
Thanks for the comment!
Gary
@WhiteSilverKusanagi
I never read the book, but 2 of my friends that have these cars, including the car you see if the video told me
the car was a belvedere, I will have to ask them if they read the book. Thanks
The car is a belvedere, as was Christine.
318 , special cam and 2 four barrels.
Gary
@1959CustomRoyal Christine was a Fury
@jadeandblackkittys
Yes, I live in the LA area. We will be at the Spring Fling in Van Nuys CA, in a couple of weeks. The fellow that ownes Christine is more than likely bringing a 300 C convertible (1957).
Hope to see you there!!!
Gary
@1959CustomRoyal
I'm sorry but you're mistaken. Christine was a Fury. In the movie adaption of the novel they sometimes used stunt double Belvedere's which is why some people were mistaken. If you read Stephen king novels (like I do) you'd know that christine was indeed a '58 Fury.
@SpinMaster08 actually you could get a 350ci commando engine in the belvedere or the fury, and being that it was a "Christine" clone its hard to say which car was used to actually make it there was like three models that works for it ... a savoy, the fury and the belvedere I believe.
My parents had a 60 sport fury 60 to 68.Oh my dad did'nt let anybody push around. No seat belts back then i stood on the floor in the back looking out the windshield. One time road rage my dad ramed pushed a 64 mustang from like 50 past 100
when there is not one but TWO christine's rolling down the highway
Unsettled tom meme
@SpinMaster08 your wrong, it was a 318 V-8 engine! it had the V on the grill
That was so fun
@starladear002
I removed the AC, pulleys etc, when I had the new engine installed. Even had the compressor rebuilt, but since the top is almost always down, I never used the AC. I have it stored away in my garage in a safe place.
I do a lot of parades with the car, where I may be going 3 to 5 mph, and while the old 400 engine didn't mind that, I suspects the 440 might put up a fuss, so just didnt want to take a chance, and so far the parades, I've been in, I have not had any heating problems .
Dodge was to Plymouth as Mercury was to Ford....a class difference. Yet both had that left-over Virgnal Exner styling....yrs ahead of GM!
One of my favorite videos on you tube! Wish I could see more footage. I just got a '58 Belvedere in Canyon Gold with an Ice burg white top. I am the new owner of the Belvedere that was once owned by Mike Sutherland. I saw both of your names on The forward look site. My user name is Plymouth Twins. My twin brother and I own it together. Are you a California native? I live in Los Angeles (Los Feliz). Can't wait to drive it, I have a bad transmission leak.
Yeah it is, but overall the Plymouth is a much better looking car.
We wouldn´t read a book or watch a movie where you go: ´sure, run that weird looking monster over`.
The Plymouth is so beautiful.....
Now if Christine "lost" it would be curtains for that Dodge.
Awesome cAR
Hell yeah !!! Gasoline glouglou power
Кристина крутая и неплохо обогнала Додж.
first off the Fury was never made as a 4 door an her grille was chrome as her inserts an trim. She camin Beige white. the 57 belvedere an 58 fury are nearly identicle. an also it says in the book Christine was a custom order Fire engine red and white with interior to match
Umm, (Sir/Ma’am)☝️just 1 more thing 🤔.
C’mon man! Kick them secondaries in! 💪
Elephants in love.
Well, at least they aren't "Jelly Beans" that all look alike!!!!!
Gary
Christine Baby!!!
You should move to this one.
Nice
Just another Christine, out in the wild
@1959CustomRoyal Yeah Christine was Fury with a 318 wich never made sense to me as all the researcxh shows that the 58 Fury's had a 35 cid fuelie v8 in them, and before you tell me thats a chevy motor remember that I am and will always be MOPAR or no car and I am just as confused about that size of that one
OMG YOU FOUND CHRISTINE!!!!!! HOW?
+Frank Ramirez "Josephine" belongs to a friend of mine, He calls her "Josephine" as he says "There can ONLY be One Christine. She is for sale, if interested leave a msg here.Gary
I am interested
+Frank Ramirez OK I will call him and see how much He wants for it and get back to you We are in California, (near Disneyland), Where are You?Gary
Um I am at home
+Frank Ramirez , Well I was wondering if you are close enough to come see the car, anyway He wants $30,000 which I think is an excellent price. He said the car has a new engine and tranny in it, a 318 with 2, 4 barrels carbs and a pushbutton torqueflite transmission.CAr is in excellent shape, interior and exterior and mechanicals.Gary
When America was America
I'd be afraid that the two cars would kill each other
@SpinMaster08 but the beleverde wasnt RED just the Fury !
What is amazing to me, the Dodge is a convertible AND is equipped with factory air conditioning. An almost unheard of combination back then.
just the sound of that sounds counterproductive! the only feasible situation to use AC in a convertible is if its raining and hot!
+I really dont care. I don't think you've spent summers in Phoenix, Az. They have two seasons, summer and January 15th.
Cool
@226dino they could make the same bodystyle and everything using fiberglass/plastic ect ect I would be happy
the dodge kicked his ass
Cars now are like throw away appliances.
Which car? the Plymouth or the Dodge?
Gary
You would have kicked my car's ass any day. I have a 1959 Cadillac sedan...
My god very nice............... XD
Christine on the highway with her new owner
That's Josephine. Same species as Christine but not evil like her, hopefully.
wolderfullllllll
0:41 - the end of the video , that's power only plymouth fury's/belvederes have!
thats a belvedere not a fury the fury has the distinct V in the grill.. that car a 318 in it at most ... but its still a beautiful car...
how much u wanna bet that black chevy was undercover HP
don't think that hat is gonna fly off
now you watch this!!!!!.....*foot to floor*
CHICKENSH******TTTT ! LOL
this poor car will never hear the end of that movie
(OO===V===OO)
was this 2006?
