I also want to add that this is a beautiful example and it's good of you to preserve a piece of history like this. These are truly beautiful cars from a bygone era. Thanks for the video. It made my night!
My god,ive loved this car since i was 16 yrs old,now im in my 60s and fallen in love again..Never owned one,but always dreamed of it..Were never a lot around in my country..sydney..australia..and now to even see one here is such a rare occasion..thanks for sharing..
No Car today will ever have the class or beauty that has and has brought since Christine movie was made Beautiful car! All that chrome and metal Awesome! Thanks for posting this !
Maybe it's not perfect---but it's close enough. Yeah, the plates aren't quite right, and it clearly says "Belvedere" on the rear fenders...but you know what? I'm still giving the owner credit for a damn fine effort. If the owner reads this, then I say---Mister, you should be damn proud. Fine piece of vintage rolling stock ya got there. The critics can suck it. For those of you who AREN'T vintage Mopar lovers like me, the Belvedere was the low-end model. Then you moved up to the Satellite, and then the Fury (which is what "Christine" was supposed to be). The side trim was slightly different across the versions while the basic body lines remained the same. Love, love, LOVE that V-8 sound! This was a car built back when Detroit actually knew how to build cars, and was actually considered a great place to be---as opposed to the horrible social experiment gone wrong that it is today.
+Warhorse500 Totally agree, it may not be completely accurate, but close enough. The original 1958 Fury was actually only available in Sandstone white, but for the movie, Christine took on a 1982 red paint from an "82 IROC Camaro. I really want to build this car.
'58 Fury is sex on wheels! THANK YOU, John Carpenter & Steven King! Just think: the car in King's original book version was a 4-door . If they'd gone that route, I just don't think it would have had quite the same impact.
Think about when Chrysler intro'd "cab-forward" design and the LH sedans back in 1992. If you're a Mopar fan think about how you felt when the Intrepid and siblings hit the road for the first time. Now you know the feeling when Christine's design hit the road in '57! It was their version of cab-fwd. As far as I'm concerned, it still drops jaws 52 years later.
Well. I'm not 30 until February but I'll say I'm sure that back when this baby was built, it was built by good, hard working and honest men who actually cared about doing the job right, and not just about getting paid. Those boys lived in a time when most people were good Christians who cared about family and had strong moral values. Maybe that's why cars like this are still around today? Regardless it's a beautiful car and I'm envious of you, sir!
My dad had a 58 New Yorker w/a 392 Hemi & pushbutton transmission.... they used it to tow their BB/GD w/a blown 392 Hemi. The old Mopars were beautiful IMO, & drove really nice too.
Gads that is gorgeous. I remember when chrysler wowed the automotive world with the new low slung look in 57. My uncle worked for a GM plant and he bought a brand new 57 chevy. He had to admit that chrysler had definitely beat the other car companies to the punch. I was 11 by then and taking big notice of cars. I remember drooling over this body style. My first car was a 1957 Belvedere four door. Not as cool as the 2 door but I got it cheap and it was mine.
Hi Arnie! I thought you died, but you and your Christine are still alive! Kidding aside. I think you got one of the nicest "Christines" all over the world.
@mikeys316 What is good about what King did was bring to everyone's attention this beautiful car, and it's because of him that many Plymouth's were saved and lovingly restored. I know...I've owned two of them.
It said "Belvedere" on the side. As far as I know, a Fury is the performance version, and shouldn't have that other name on it. I think this car is a repro. That's not surprising considering they are extremely rare.
Christine was a Belvedere. Fury's were all sedans. The Belvedere was the coupe. They took the plates off for the movie. FYI: None of those cars (Fury's or Belvedere's) came from Chrysler in red.
Christine Plymouth well in the book, it was a '57 4 door fury with door lock knobs and a transmission shift arm. obviously, he wasn't that familiar with the models and just like the name I guess.
I kept the carbs gold, which was the original color, although they were chromed in the movie, correct. The mufflers are Flowmasters with dual exhaust and H-pipe.
As much as this is a Belvedere and not a Fury (which are exactly the fucking same except for the Fury having a bigger block), I LOVE your car! GREAT job keeping it in such pristine, or well.. "Christine" condition in this case. (oh I'm bad at puns lol). I'd love to own one~
@CrumpKid2k I believe the steerring wheel was done that way for the movie. I believe you can have it done that way but I'm sure it was painted that color
Search. It took me 15 years to find mine. You cant just open an auto trader and buy one. Lots of wanted ads and internet searches. Lots of calling people and lots of dead ends.
@CherylKimberleylover Not sure, as I'm not terribly familiar with trim levels for Chryslers of that era. AFAIK, when S. King originally wrote the story he made a slight goof in making the car a 4-door, as he didn't know that the "Fury" was a 2-dr-only model, so they changed it for the movie.
You are correct, Furys only came in Buckskin Beige however this car is a Belvedere, which came in all colors. The red is the most striking color is it not?
This car not Christine , Christine didn't have the Belvedere on the back on each side . And Christine's engines , air filter top covers where chrome not a goldish metallic color . And one more thing the seats were completely red leather .
+Ken Johnson Really? What kind of car was the movie car then? The rear fender "Belvedere" was actually on the car, but not in the movie, so it's the movie car that's not correct.
Yeah you're right, the original Christine had a fully chrome engine, different interior designs and no "Belvedere" written on the rear fenders. Also, her actual number was CQB 241, she was registered as that number and it wasn't not a sticker. But this car have the original license plate CQB 241 only in front, in back it have its own different plate which ruin the look of the car. BTW, its a closest replica of Christine, a few mistakes but okay, good job to the owner!
@LeilaSweden well thank you very much Leila, 20 years ago I would take you up on that offer, but I'm married now with a son. Keep on Mopar-ring in CA !!
Well, after reading all the comments about different models Ect of the supposed "Christine" car....only 2 had the same plate number. The one in the move and this one....not sure of the plate naming procedures in California, however as far as i`m concerned, until more proof is found, this one wins. Check the movie, CQB-241 wins.... well done. EDIT: Apparently I was wrong....It appears you can buy "replica" Christine plates as this person`s rear plate reads "58 Evil" so no win!
Of course! I do like most of Stephen King`s movies, including this one....I have a lost hope, waiting for the "Dark Tower" series of movies.....a pipe dream though. BTW, greets from Canada.
It was a 1958 Plymouth Fury for sure. Only someone like Jay Leno would ever own one of these without telling the public. CQB 241 was indeed the license plate number that was used in that movie. Here's a 1958 Chrysler sales brochure paintref.com/cgi-bin/brochuredisplay.cgi?year=1958&manuf=Chrysler&model=Plymouth
@mocus1 in the book it was also a 4door, and unfortunately Stephen King had forgot to do his research about the car and talks about putting the shifter lever down into drive ... you know and I know they didnt have shifter lever's unless they were the manual, and pushbutton automatics
In the book, it was a Fury, but it also refered to Christine having four doors. Fury's never had four doors. They were two-door coupe's. The book describes a Belvedere. I don't think Stephen King put too much research into the car when he wrote the novel. Who cares...a GREAT book anyway!
some of the finest cars came out of Detroit in the 1950's and 1960's all thanks to one amazing car stylist and designer Virgil Exner , he was bold and brilliant ,it was a time when Detroit was known as Motor City hence the name Mowtown of Mowtown Music love these old Cars 1957 chrysler 300e and c 1958 Plymouths Cadillacs all nice and amazing cars im british but have had the opportunity to sit in these cars to me they are amazing and would honestly own one!
i see seat belts they where never fitted with them or even on the movie plus Autumn Red was what the movie used? Nice car though i wish i could drive and get one.
I think you should crome the carbs give it a more original look of the film... Im pretty sure they never made plymouths fury's in red, i think the original colours were a baige or brown... But a beautiful car all the same. p.s. has she got cherry bomb mufflers?
@mocus1 Thank´s, Yes sorry, could been a CA wife,, hope to gone there again some time, Loove it soo, been there 1995 and that,s my place,Love all about US, all the wonderful people, natur, food,, all,, never forget my US trip,,But CA was the most vonderful place on the earth,, Love it soo,, Hugs Leila
difference is this car has a soul.... some old antique cars have souls no offence but a Honda civic doesn't.. trust me I have a 2000 Malibu and a chevy nova and the nova just seems alive, same with my dads 76 caddy Eldorado... while the Malibu is just a car
I also want to add that this is a beautiful example and it's good of you to preserve a piece of history like this. These are truly beautiful cars from a bygone era. Thanks for the video. It made my night!
That is a lovely looking car. I have wanted one ever since i saw the movie.
Especially one that can repair itself.
Simply AWESOME !!!!
Elle est magnifique, c'est pas une voiture, mais une oeuvre d'art !
My god,ive loved this car since i was 16 yrs old,now im in my 60s and fallen in love again..Never owned one,but always dreamed of it..Were never a lot around in my country..sydney..australia..and now to even see one here is such a rare occasion..thanks for sharing..
Beautiful ! A lot of work well done I am proud! Paul
Simplesmente é o carro mais bonito de todos os tempos...I love Christine!!! From: Brazil.
What a beauty.
No Car today will ever have the class or beauty that has and has brought since Christine movie was made Beautiful car! All that chrome and metal Awesome! Thanks for posting this !
Love the Sound of the Old V8's

Actually, I think it goes for '57 (low end first) Plaza, Savoy, Belvedere, Fury and for '58 Savoy, Belvedere, Fury.
+Warhorse500 Thank you, yeah all the sour grapes from the losers tastes great !
Exactly, like the guy who corrected me for calling a Galaxie 500,a LTD.
It's supposed to say "Belvedere" on the rear fenders, the movie car was not correct.
'58 Fury is sex on wheels! THANK YOU, John Carpenter & Steven King!

nice car man i wish they still made those kind of cars

no shitters allowed,i just loved this song in the movie!
Negatore on the shittters !
Hi Arnie! I thought you died, but you and your Christine are still alive!
Kidding aside. I think you got one of the nicest "Christines" all over the world.
Oh wow I can't believe that's Christine, OK show me!
Dear beautiful Christine your manufacturer really does need to see your light and make more of you the same again just with better rust resistance ❤
@mocus1 sweet sign nice to see some one appreciate old cars like that.
I agree with the person below who says the music is too loud...cannot hear what you are saying...sorry...
Just banter and small talk, nothing important man, just chill.
OO=====V=====OO
Very clever.
@mikeys316 What is good about what King did was bring to everyone's attention this beautiful car, and it's because of him that many Plymouth's were saved and lovingly restored. I know...I've owned two of them.
I'm feelin that rock n roll.
Good luck in finding one, besides, they are virtually priceless. The owner can pick his price. They are that rare.
🥰CHRISTINE🥰
LISTEN to that ENGINE!!!! WOOOOOH YEAH!!!! :P
very very beautuful car " Plymouth Fury 1958 Belvedere " Thank you for your video !!!!!!! I like Christine !!!!!
I heard from word of mouth that this car was what inspired Cadillac. The Cadillac people saw it in a warehouse before it was to be debuted.
It's a beauty
yes!!!
It said "Belvedere" on the side. As far as I know, a Fury is the performance version, and shouldn't have that other name on it. I think this car is a repro. That's not surprising considering they are extremely rare.
Hopefully no shitters made an appearance.
Indeed, shitters can appear at any time and make the future grim indeed .
Christine was a Belvedere. Fury's were all sedans. The Belvedere was the coupe. They took the plates off for the movie.
FYI: None of those cars (Fury's or Belvedere's) came from Chrysler in red.
nohbody85 the '56, '57 and '58 Furys were all 2 door hardtops in ermine white. the Belvedere was available in red.
+chieftp Actually the base fury color was buckskin beige for 57 and 58
Labmaba 76
let's just call it eggshell
+nohbody85 Correct, the movie car is actually incorrect, the real car has "Belvedere" on the rear fenders.
Christine Plymouth
well in the book, it was a '57 4 door fury with door lock knobs and a transmission shift arm. obviously, he wasn't that familiar with the models and just like the name I guess.
the red is hot and the car is better looking than anything is making today. talk about style!
scary but gorgeous car
"Toreador Red" and the roof is "Iceberg White"
Belo carro você
Belo carro você tem quisera eu tivesse um igual na minha garagem mas infelizmente
i want a car like that.
@Mizz1Joker yes, in the movie they were chrome, but in the original factory colors they were gold
I kept the carbs gold, which was the original color, although they were chromed in the movie, correct. The mufflers are Flowmasters with dual exhaust and H-pipe.
personally i think a 58 fury and a 59 caddy are the best looking cars of all time i would give a kidney to have either one of them in that condition
SPOOKY !!!
@bottle2lip The blue car next to Christine is a '70-'72 Plymouth Duster, not a '68 Dodge Charger.
Sweetass car man. I'd like to have one done up in Jet black... Call her Elvira. hehehe
Why the factory gold aircleaners?? In the movie had chrome?
Hey Cunningham,You aint mad are you?
You're right about Furys never coming in red from the factory.
However, as per the book, Christine was a custom paint job.
@CrumpKid2k I believe the steerring wheel was done that way for the movie. I believe you can have it done that way but I'm sure it was painted that color
i"d love one of these where can i purchase one?
Search. It took me 15 years to find mine. You cant just open an auto trader and buy one. Lots of wanted ads and internet searches. Lots of calling people and lots of dead ends.
the 330 did have the optional 2 four barrels.
Dalton Jones 350
both 318 and 350 did, the "Dual Fury" engine option
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@mocus1 Not the 3 speed TorqueFlite? From my understanding teh Powerflite was in Tower Sixes and the base model 318s in Savoys and what have you.
Dude, I wouldn't dare to get near that car
@CherylKimberleylover Not sure, as I'm not terribly familiar with trim levels for Chryslers of that era. AFAIK, when S. King originally wrote the story he made a slight goof in making the car a 4-door, as he didn't know that the "Fury" was a 2-dr-only model, so they changed it for the movie.
You are correct, Furys only came in Buckskin Beige however this car is a Belvedere, which came in all colors. The red is the most striking color is it not?
@67bowtieguy the only upper option was the 3-spd Torqueflite automatic trans.
I used mid 50's tri-5 Chevy seatbelts, although seatbelts are not original on this car, I added them for safety reasons.
Interior is wrong from the movie. Christine never had white inserts inside
same for the seats
yes it did
Correct, the movie has the dark red cloth seat inserts, he did a peppermint red and white cause he does whatever the fock he wants.
This car not Christine , Christine didn't have the Belvedere on the back on each side . And Christine's engines , air filter top covers where chrome not a goldish metallic color . And one more thing the seats were completely red leather .
The seats were red and black... but, yeah. This ain't a movie car. The uploader is just driving views to his video with his fictitious title.
He meant Christine the movie, not it's an actual movie car dumbass !
Christine Plymouth
I wish!
+Ken Johnson Really? What kind of car was the movie car then? The rear fender "Belvedere" was actually on the car, but not in the movie, so it's the movie car that's not correct.

The fury was available in 4-door configuration in 1960. Stephen King admitted to getting a lot wrong in the book. He barely knows cars.
Could you say the exact date of event, and how much do you want for this car?
Those Camaros over to the left better not get too close. She has a test for them I think.
Don't let NO SHITTER come between you and the one you love!
yeah, only 2 doors like Kaffyboy said, and ALL furys was painted in a Pearl White and Gold
@reddsun1 then it would be a Belvedere sport sedan or something?

You can see the colour change from where they repaired it ? Lol.
2:29...very nice Sound
What music is playing?
um christine was a red plymouth fury wasnt it not , im looking at the movie case now so
i see seat belts they where never fitted with them or even on the movie
plus Autumn Red was what the movie used?
Nice car though i wish i could drive and get one.
No seat belts in the movie car Christine?
I reckon that's why Arnie went through the windshield. I'm guessing mocus1 has no wish to do a re-enactment.

I think you should crome the carbs give it a more original look of the film... Im pretty sure they never made plymouths fury's in red, i think the original colours were a baige or brown... But a beautiful car all the same. p.s. has she got cherry bomb mufflers?
