There’s nothing like sitting down to a cup of coffee in the morning and watching Rick do his magic. Your story is very familiar as I had the same situation. A few weeks back, I was doing my yearly ceramic coating on my wife’s weekend drive and had the garage door open, and the UPS driver comes down the driveway and gets out of the truck to deliver some detailing supplies. He asked me what I was doing and explained yearly ceramic coating maintenance to protect the vehicle from the elements. We continue talking, and he’s looking at the banners hanging up, and he asked me if I do other people’s cars, yes, and explained that I was booked through August, and I am only detailing on the weekends, including Friday. Well, he just bought a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and he is dropping it off next weekend for complete interior, exterior detail, including ceramic coat, which he asked for Apex coating after I asked him to watch a few videos of different detailers coating cars.
It's funny how things work out. I enjoy the fact that I seem to attract people that truly love and care for their vehicles. I enjoy the odd "Disaster Detail" project now and again, but my bread and butter is helping car lover's put the finishing touches on their cherished rides!
Coming home after the late shift. My plans were to go to sleep as quick as possible beacuse I need to get up early in the morning. Oooohhh! New vid from Rick and RAD Garage means new plans. Watching you wash and polish the car is real fun This car was one of the first in the world the 2000s Especially with us in Algeria, it was one of the most luxurious and beautiful cars Most of the Algerians were buying it
Rick, good to see an R32 in your garage that wasn't battered through winters as a work vehicle 😂 Amazing work as always man. Hope you and your loved ones are doing well.
Thanks for stopping by, Arjun. I have super fond memories of your old R32 from last summer. What a fun and unique project that one was. I still get comments as recent as yesterday on that project. I hope you are enjoying life with that RS3 of yours!

That foam!!!! Once again RAD Productions at its finest. I just put out a couple video using TOPPER as well. Can't beat the gloss it leaves behind and very easy to work with. Thanks as always for the great video.
When a guy says he wants to see some gloss on his car, I think Topper is a great choice. It is obviously no replacement for a traditional ceramic liquid coating, but not everyone wants the hassle of that. This is an easy "go to" for those that just want to have a shiny ride.
Thanks. It means a lot coming from someone with such close connections to these cars! This one was in really good shape, I just helped bring it to the next level.

Thanks for the nice comment. That was a very satisfying project from a few years ago. The owner has since sold that car, but the video will live on forever!
How do you clean and keep that CarPro mitt clean Rick? I just got one of those but haven't used it yet and was wondering the best way to clean it and keep it in good condition? I never plan on using it on anything but fairly clean paint. I keep my car pretty clean at all times and have separate tools/bucket for the wheels.
Great video I have has a MK3 through to seven Golf GTi and I wish I had had a MK5 R32. I have just placed a pre-order on an RS3 and now debating what professional grade coating to have applied?
You are one dedicated VAG driver! I wouldn't sweat your ceramic coating choice too much. I have used a dozen different brands and they are all pretty good. The real trick is in the prep. If I had to choose my current favourites, it is a toss up between Fireball Devil's Blood or NV EVO. Good luck!
@@RADGarage yeah! And a lot of compagny sell some pretty nice polisher holder too… but having Rupes gear with Rupes holder is kind of satisfying to watch hahaa Would like to try the Gear driven one day! but ordered their DA MKIII yesterday from Chris so… !

Excellent video Rick! Just a quick question regarding your walls and floor. On the bottom of my drywall, there is a small gap between the concrete, I'd say about 1 cm width. Should I fill that with a sealant so water doesn't get trapped if I'm washing in the garage? From the floor to the drywall has about 5 cm of concrete vertical lip.
Yeah, you're going to need to do whatever you can so water doesn't wick its way up your drywall. It's hard to say without seeing a pic. Send me a photo to radgarageyyc@gmail.com some time and we can chat.
I've run out of words to describe my satisfaction for your videos so I'll go with fantastic today. Loved the rinsing stage footage. The last track by The Ambientalist is one of my faves- recognized it right away. I'd like to know your thoughts on the Griots Creams.
I wish the camera could have somehow communicated how hot and stuffy the garage was this past weekend. We have been in the grips of a brutal heat wave, but I got 'er done!
Hi Rick ! Awesome Goenized cure for that nice car. Indeed, gloss might be seen from International Space Ship 😂😂😂😂! I don't know if you are keen on waxes but Gyeon Wax seems to be absolutely stunning in terms of gloss, water beading and sheeting. And easy to apply and buff off... Would be nice to give it a try. Greg
Thanks Greg. I did use Gyeon Wax to finish off the blue AMG I did in the early Spring. It was good, but I always struggle with removing wax residue from tight panel gaps.
Hi Rick from Melbourne Australia. Great video you knocked it out of the park with your attention to detail. I have a mk5 Golf with a dirty headliner. What method would you recommend to clean it. Mainly greasy finger marks and a couple of water stains from previous owners lack of maintenance on sunroof drains. I don't want the headliner to sag after I've cleaned it.
Great to connect with you from Down Under! I don't have a tonne of experience with headliners. I would start with an interior cleaner spray and work it into the stains lightly with a medium bristle brush and then use a damp cloth to pull out the cleaner/dirt. Apart from that, you'd need to grab a Tornador pneumatic gun like I have (but have used only once in 10 years!).
@@RADGarage Ok thanks for the tip. I'll give interior cleaner/damp cloth method a shot and see how it goes. I'll let you know the result. Thanks again.
Nice...RAD little Car. My son sez it's time to do up (polish) his GTI. We are struggling with the HOT weather lately and don't want to start long sessions like this. I'm only getting from first light till 11am. maybe 12 noon to tinker...
Another great video! Great result. What do you use for all you nice cinematic sideways shots. I've noticed what looks like a remote in your hand sometimes. Do you have a camera tripod slider setup or something?
Love that shade of grey, especially with the mirror-like finish at the end! One question, when you do the pillars, what speed do you set your polisher at? Appreciate all the work both in front of and behind the camera, as always; what a great way to start the long weekend!
Those pillars threw me for a bit of a loop. I'm used to just going at whatever speed with whatever pad/compound polish and they turn out great, but these were a real pain. I don't think the high temperature and humidity level in the garage was helping. To answer your questions, I'm usually hovering around the "3" mark.
Hi Rick, I heard it’s pretty hot right now out west, hope you’re staying cool. Question: what do you use to clean the inside fabric top liners? I just discovered my 6 year dirty boot prints up there. I figured I’ll clean the seats too. Thanks, and as always keep up the great videos, it’s always a treat to watch. 👌
It's great idea to clean the area where Glass sits on doors when window is closed all the way. I just detail spray. U be surprised amount of dirt collect over the year.
Awesome job! Just curious, what pressure washer do you use? Was thinking to get one for myself but been getting mixed reviews of every product out there. TIA
Hey Rick you as a OG Carpro user and big Snow foam guy would you mind trying out the new Carpro Lift? Really would like to see it in one of your videos
Those Boss creams are amazing. I used the MF pad with the Correcting cream and the softer foam pads with the Perfecting and it was so easy I thought I had done it wrong!
I bet there's people out there that use these spray sealants on glass, but I am a glass purist. I just clean the glass and leave it alone. I have had too many frustrations with "glass coatings" that simply don't perform, make things worse, or just wear away quickly.
I may have mentioned it in a video, but I kind of use my Instagram to keep viewers up to date on new developments. I received a huge amount of Gyeon products back in the early-Spring and have been loving each and every one of them!
Know the seasonal allergies all too well myself. Think I need prescription allergy meds. Brutal. Otherwise great vid and nice to see these R32s being cared for.
I've been keeping them in check with a little white pill each day, but they do flare up at times. They used to be really bad when I lived overseas. They have calmed down a lot since I have been back in Canada.
Awesome job Rick i am so glad i bumped into you that time at Carzilla. Absolutely love the car finish and video💙

I wish the camera could have somehow communicated how hot and stuffy the garage was this past weekend. We have been in the grips of a brutal heat wave, but I got 'er done!
Nice job! Love the VR6! Owned a:
1997 Passat 12V VR6
2001 GTI 12V VR6
2004 DEEP BLUE PEARL R32 😢 wish I still had.
@@landroverSV Those emotions are common with owners of these amazing cars. Thanks for the comment. Lots more VAG projects featured on my channel! 🤘
@@RADGarage
Ok thanks for the tip.
It’s too hot to work in my garage this weekend. 31 degrees Celsius in there at the moment. 🥵
Great vid, how much would it cost for something like this?
Depends on how good I'm feeling that day. 😉
Another great video! Great result. What do you use for all you nice cinematic sideways shots. I've noticed what looks like a remote in your hand sometimes. Do you have a camera tripod slider setup or something?
Yes, I have a remote controlled camera dolly. It’s a great little gadget. Google “Neewer camera dolly”.
@@RADGarage it works a treat. Looks great!
Some guy gave me crap for it and TOLD me that I needed to take static shots. I love it when random people tell me how to do what I do! 🤷♂️😂
@@RADGarage haha. Some people. Feel justified in saying "Hey I don't know you but this is how you should do your hobby ."
Exactly. It boggles my mind.
Watching this again since my kids kept me from zen earlier.
It’s a better experience without kids crawling all over you. So I have heard. 😂
@@RADGarage viewing must be times right I've learned
Nice vid man, greetings from Russia 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for tuning in, friend!
Thanks man. Give me some more details about the boot marks. Where are they?
Question for the P21s. Do you wet the sponge first before tipping it in the product?
Yes. Just a bit.
It's a masterpiece
You're too kind!
It's great idea to clean the area where Glass sits on doors when window is closed all the way. I just detail spray. U be surprised amount of dirt collect over the year.
I completely agree!
Awesome job! Just curious, what pressure washer do you use? Was thinking to get one for myself but been getting mixed reviews of every product out there. TIA
I got everything you need right here: www.radgarage.ca/pressure-washer.html
@@RADGarage thank you so much for this. Keep it up with the great content! ❤️
You bet!
Hey Rick you as a OG Carpro user and big Snow foam guy would you mind trying out the new Carpro Lift? Really would like to see it in one of your videos
I don't need any more foams, but I will buy a bottle of Lift next trip up to Carzilla! That's what a dedicated UA-cam content creator I am! 😉
Enjoyed this one Rick!!! what are your thoughts on the BOSS creams?
Those Boss creams are amazing. I used the MF pad with the Correcting cream and the softer foam pads with the Perfecting and it was so easy I thought I had done it wrong!
Do you know how much durability you're getting out of Topper yet?
No idea. I’ll have to check in with the Wookie owner in a month or so. He’s going to use it after every wash which is what I suggested he do.
Can you use that solution finish(topper) to glass? Or in just the paint?
I bet there's people out there that use these spray sealants on glass, but I am a glass purist. I just clean the glass and leave it alone. I have had too many frustrations with "glass coatings" that simply don't perform, make things worse, or just wear away quickly.
@@RADGarage Thanks for replying and more power 🚘❤️
@@jaysoncarlos8651 I have couple videos of TOPPER being used on glass. Haven't had any issues with it yet so far!
Inevitably, some Topper gets on the glass when I'm finishing off a project, and I have never had any issues as well. Thanks for chiming in D&D. 🙏
Excellent
Thanks
what kind of green glass towels are those?
I prefer to use Detail Popo "Minty Weave" towels. They are awesome.
Did I miss a video where you show your Gyeon Products?
I may have mentioned it in a video, but I kind of use my Instagram to keep viewers up to date on new developments. I received a huge amount of Gyeon products back in the early-Spring and have been loving each and every one of them!
Car pro clarify glass cleaner, is it worth it?
It's among my favourite glass cleaners to work with. I enjoy:
- Gyeon Q2M Glass
- CarPro Clarify
- Koch Chemie GC
- Adam's Glass Cleaner
@@RADGarage Thanks for replying I really appreciate it 🚗❤️

Know the seasonal allergies all too well myself. Think I need prescription allergy meds. Brutal. Otherwise great vid and nice to see these R32s being cared for.
I've been keeping them in check with a little white pill each day, but they do flare up at times. They used to be really bad when I lived overseas. They have calmed down a lot since I have been back in Canada.
first, you need to detail my mk4 golf
Well, I am certainly learning my way around the VW Golf family of vehicles! Bring it! 🤘
