It's crazy how some cars can leave such a strong impression on our your minds. My equivalent would be the gold Porsche 944 I got a ride in when I was about 10 or 11. It made me the car lover I am today.
Ha! I think the $999 price you see on the Carzilla website is just due to the fact that it is a product only offered to pro installers. How I got my hands on it is beyond me! 🤷♂️
He is the one that truly sees and recognizes the outcome on this one. The "before" footage didn't quite showcase just how in need of love the paint was.
The title says it all " Giving this Bavarian the detail of its life" And you definitely did that. As always, your work is second to none. Job well done
Hello Rick, another fantastic project, respect for this BMW is a year older than me 😄and it's in good shape, and after passing through your hands it was top pity the vacation is over 👍🇵🇹
I know the owner is going back and forth with what to do with the bumpers. The popular thing is to pull them off, so maybe it's cool and unique to leave them be? 🤷♂️
This one has been modified in an attempt to enhance its overall performance and experience, and I have to say, it is highly successful in achieving that goal!
Hi Rick, The finsih looks perfect...but when you zoom in close its better than perfect. In my opinion this has to be your best video ever. From the production of the video to the work you did on this fantastice 2002. Really magnificent. Almost speechless. Awesome. Oh yes. I love the way you show the products you are using and that you can easily find the different steps by the hash marks on the video itself. The interview with your friend was the iceing on the cake. Thanks for everything.
I thought I was over the moon when I first saw the car post detail… the paint has never been so smooth, deep and rich looking…but after driving it… the windows have never been this clear… most are original to the car and have 45 year of scratch’s etc… they look new! The front window is so slick that a bug hit it and honestly just glanced off… best detail of its life is no exaggeration…

Absolutely gorgeous Rick. I'm jealous. I'd almost be willing to pay someone to work on such a beautiful car. I seen your post and kids are starting back to school is a huge reason in drop in views. Also not to sound bad but with the absolute crap ton of content available to everyone you almost always have to be innovating constantly to stay relevant. I would like to see your wash and talks come back! I know I'm only one viewer but you will always have me watching, you do amazing work. Edit: also the song in this is absolute 🔥
I do the occasional "Wash & Chat" but that may be something I have to consider if I want to remain relevant! At any rate, the channel was designed to showcase what I do, not dictate what I do. That said, I do like the attention! LOL
@@RADGarage haha. I agree with you sir. I think you have a great niche in the youtube detailing scene. It's just getting your channel in front of the right eyes.
Beautiful car I love the colour another awesome job. That’s what you call detailing thanks for taking me along on your journey totally enjoyed it. 👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
Thanks for the positive feedback, Ken. The owner texted me and said his car was a show stopper at the local BMW club BBQ this past weekend. That made me feel great to hear.
Excellent presentation Rick ,your presentation and ability to tell the story through your editing skills is great. Enjoy the content and the car came out looking phenomenal.
Thank you kindly. There was a lot of time and effort put into the detail as well as capturing it on video, so it is nice to have that recognized by viewers like you. Especially the ones that actually know what goes into a detail! 🤘
Great video Rick. I know you say you don't do it for the views and I understand that 100% but it also still feels good to have the appreciation for your work. The algorithm is something of a mystery isn't it. I have heard it helps to post consistently and at the same time each week fortnight etc. Good luck with getting to where you should be!
Yeah, I try not to be a slave to the algorithm, but I’ve noticed the video performance is going well for the first day or so and then WHAM! the views just stop. That’s what has me confused. I just want to reach as many viewers as possible who will appreciate the level of quality I try to include in my work, but it seems UA-cam thinks otherwise. However, I am incredibly fortunate to have a strong and loyal base of viewers who always show interest in and support. for what I do. 🙏🤘
I appreciate that! I love having all the time in the world to do it my way. Now that work is starting back up, I will not have as much free time, but I am hopeful I can sneak a few projects in, here and there. 🙏
I have to tell you...... I have recently switched to Artdeshine as my go to company for Coatings, Shampoos, and most detail needs based primarily off the performance I'm seeing as cars come back for maintenance jobs. I still enjoy using IGL Kenzo and Gtechniq Ultra from time to time but if I had to pick a single product line, Artdeshine would be it! Not sure who your rep is up in Canada but down here in the states its Christian Tran...... That guy is just a pleasure to deal with. Great video keep them coming!
I appreciate your thoughts. I have to agree regarding the NGC. It was tremendously satisfying to work with and the results were jaw dropping. I was fortunate to deal directly with Christian and I hope to continue the relationship. I look forward to hearing back from the car owner as to how the coating performed after its first wash.
What a relaxing way to spend my Sunday morning. Breakfast, coffee and RAD videos when everyone else is still in bed. Rick, the quality of your videos and work is impeccable! I can’t wait until the 110° + summer is done here in Arizona so I can get outside and do some of my own work.
Thanks Derek. I am happy to enhance the mornings of my viewers! Have a good time detailing your ride once the weather begins calming down in your area!
This was an amazing video to watch as the car is amazing and your attention to detail was amazing too. I an envious of your NV products. Thank you for such a great video.
Time really is the key element in what I can achieve. I'm sure someone will chime in at some point and say they could have accomplished this detail in 3 hours, but I don't care. There is no substitute for taking your time.
Rick, wonderful job. The last few videos don’t show the engine bay. Are you doing the engine but just not showing it? I would like to see how you clean the engine. Thanks as always for your attention to detail.
Engines have been pretty tidy on recent projects. For the GT3, I just wiped down the underside of the "hood" and around the edges and the Golf Rallye was impeccable under there. I may be doing a thorough wash of my own car's engine bay here in the next few weeks, but engine bays are something I approach with caution and trepidation.
Good morning Rick, another outstanding Rad Production. Beautiful car, and still, the paintwork for a vehicle resprayed in the ’80s still looked fantastic. I am a fan of Artdeshine shine as I did my 2022 BMW M4, their products also. Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your Sunday.
Thank you for the kind comment William. The car, the products, the overall timeframe all came together to result in a highly highly satisfying outcome. I really enjoyed this one.
Absolutely fantastic! Loved this videos "theme" of music and sound effects. Even the polish on the pad shot was perfect. Looked like mini Hershey kiss!
What a great presentation, Rick! Love the old classics, even more so when they are actually driven and not put in a glass case to only be looked at on sunny days! It may have taken 4 days, but I'd say it was definitely worth it! Amazing work both in front of and behind the camera, as always; the owner's story is an added touch that I really enjoy. Such a great way to spend a Sunday morning, coffee and Rad Garage!
Glad you enjoyed it. I know these projects are long and there's a lot of people that just don't have the patience to watch the entire thing, but for those that do have the patience, I am happy to share the overall story.
Yep, thats a really really good one man…My new favorite! The polishing step is insane , love it ! Those wheels look pretty fun to coat with all these little spoke 😂 !
Hey Rick! Another great video. But you got me exhausted watching you do that wash! 😂😂 As an after thought, I bought a new Rupes 5” polisher and while I use it and like the feel, I still do most of my polishing with my Rupes 3”. You have to work the 3” a little more, but as a kinda buyer’s remorse, I probably should have invested in an iBrid.
Having the LHR15, 75E and Nano is all I need to do what I need to do. I think you'll appreciate the LHR15 more as you use it. It has really grown on me. Some people get frustrated with its stalling out under more pressure, but I think you get into a rhythm with it the more you use it.
What an incredible video. I’m an enthusiast detailer and up until recently felt intimidated by machine polishing my car. However, I’m ready now to dive head first into it. I want to purchase a DA polisher. Which one would you recommend as being versatile for a beginner like me?I really like Rupes
Thanks for the comment, Jeffrey. I was also quite intimidated by the polishing/correction process, but with a lot of UA-cam tutorials and just plain old trial and error on my own cars, I quickly gained the confidence to tackle jobs for others. I started out with two Griot's machines that were awesome but then made the investment in a trio of Rupes polishers. I can only speak from my own experience, but I really like the Rupes machines. I know others speak highly of other brands, but I am very happy with my decision to purchase the LHR15 MKII, LHR75E and iBrid Nano micro polisher. They have all performed well to date.
You know I have been looking forward to this one. And you did not disapoint in any way. I was right back to my youth. There are noting I have not been taking apart and playing around with in theese cars. I was hoping to get a glimpse under the hood and I loved that the owner took to explain what was done to the car. My father had a 2002 Tii with the kügelfischer injection and it was also modified with slightly higher compression- A little bit milder cam was fitted, it was a Schrick 284. It was a nice register in that engine and around 140hp. I was about to ask if it was the 5 speed from the turbo, the dogleg, but I guess those are unicorns now. The transission from E21 is a really good choice but if I remember correctly you needed to modify the tunnel slightly? Or was it the clutch mechanism that differed? I might be wrong. It was many years ago now. I will not bore you with any more BMW stories from my past. Once again fantastic work, Rick! I love the fact that I got the chance to hang out in your garage with this car. Send my best to the owner. I would like to meet him but it is quite a journey to go to Canada to view at old BMWs and Ricks RAD Garage :) Take care!
The car turned out absolutely amazing!! Sorry it’s taken so long to reply here. The car was fitted with a Getrag 245 5 speed, it’s the overdrive transmission from the E21 320i. I may have a Getrag 235/5 sitting on the shelf for a race car build that is underway… maybe we can talk Rick into showcasing it when it’s all done… The Getrag 245 fits in to the 2002 with the slightest indent of the trans tunnel close to where the gas pedal sits… but it doesn’t take more than half an inch and she is in with enough clearance, just need to shorten the driveshaft. The cars are so fun to play with although some of the popular parts are getting harder to find. If you end up in Calgary I’m sure we can find a few vintage BMWs that are sure to satisfy.
@@FastFurious-xe6cr Thank you for the reply! Then I remembered correctly about the tunnel. It would be something special to visit Canada and the US. Who knows, some day it might happen. There has been quite a lot of BMWs in our family. If I include my grand father, my father, my brother and me there has been one 1500, one 1800, three 2002s, one 2002 Tii, one 1802, one 1602, one 518 E12, one 318i E21, two 323i E21, two 320i E30, one 325i Coupé E36, one 523i E39, one 320i E46 and now my father is the only one of us that owns a BMW. He has a 325i E90. There you have our entire family history, haha!
Hi great vid and amazing car! I love the old shapes. Hey regarding your comment on lower than normal views, is it due to YT releasing that crazy shorts tab? Maybe you have to do a little dance or something? 🤣
Awesome results Rick, as per usual! Do you dilute the Adams Wheel & Tire cleaner in your pump sprayer? If so, what dilution ratio do you find works well?
@@RADGarage Thanks Rick. I don't have a pump sprayer yet, so I was using it at full strength using the crummy trigger sprayer it came in. Darn thing self-destructed after pulling the trigger less than a dozen times. The product seems thicker than what I was used to using (P&S Brake Buster) so thought perhaps I'd have an easier time using it (and make the sprayer last longer) if I diluted it. It likely was just a cheap sprayer. One of these days I'll pick up a nice pump sprayer and put these junk trigger sprayers behind me.
With a pump sprayer, I really like Adam's over the P&S. Watching that Adam's AIO Wheel & Tire Cleaner instantly draw dirt out of tires is one of the most satisfying sites when I'm doing a wash.
Nothing too fancy. I use a little remote mobile camera dolly with my Sony a6100. I think I am going to pick up a second camera shortly. I have been eyeing the a6400. Thanks for the support!
Is that sprayer you use for the wheel cleaner the IK Foam or the IK Multi? Also, is it worth using a sprayer like the IK sprayers to apply wheel cleaner opposed to a spray bottle? I’m asking because I was using a foam sprayer but I would go through product fairly quickly. I love your videos, your camera work is beautiful, thanks!
It’s the multi with a tip off the foaming sprayer. I like the way the cleaner activates quicker and easier than straight out of the regular bottle. Plus, it just looks so damn cool!
All of those shampoos you listed are in my upper echelon. I love them all and enjoy working with all of them. The NV duo of Snow and Snow+ lead the pack imo.
Hi Rick ! Back from the seaside and just finished watching your last video. Buddy, that is hell of a car 🤘🤘🤘 ! Nearly my age but the lady is still looking pristine 👌! Wish I could soon pamper mine but unfortunately this week we are facing kind of a heat wave and temperature is reaching 40°C. Hopefully, she will soon go to my best friend's workshop to get a full wash, decon and a full ceramic coating. Talk to you soon ! 🤘 🆂 🆃 🅰 🆈 🆁 🅰 🅳 🤘
I will assume you had a great time at the seaside. We are heading into a hot weekend, but overall, I can feel the weather cooling down here. Thanks for taking time to relax with this classic BMW.
@@RADGarage Indeed spending time with my family is priceless. Though I only had one week leave, it still helps to release some stressfull time at work. I might go for another week middle of september to enjoy our French riviera when my wife will have a day-off. Since we still have nice weather until autumn and less tourists, sea side in back season is even better !
Hey Rick, Wonder if you can help my confused brain! You made a video ages ago and used music with a guys voice who has a very soothing voice who speaks wisdom! I can’t for the live of me remember his name, You don’t happen to know it do you? 🤣

Glad you enjoyed it. There was a lot of time and effort put into this one. Maybe my most comprehensive detail and video to date.
@@RADGarage It's a pleasure to see real passion like that 👍
really dope. thanks for sharing wave with everyone
Thanks for allowing me to feature your music! 🤘🙏
@@RADGarage how did you get such a bubbly consistency to come out of your foamer (on the wheels)?
NGC is definitely my favorite coating on the market these days.
It is glossy gooey goodness in a bottle!
@@RADGarage got that right! Great video..can’t wait for more. Your videos are my favorite pure detailing

@@jayd6068 Thanks. That means a lot to hear.
@@RADGarage Well, I certainly don't think they are too long, I enjoy every minute! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Clint. You may notice a slow-down in my uploads now that my teaching job is starting back up next week. 😢
Outstanding job! Great video again
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was a RAD azz show..... great job like always and the reverse bubbles
Thanks Mike. I got to keep the viewers happy!

2nd - with coffee this time!
Perfect combo!
Yep, thats a really really good one man…My new favorite! The polishing step is insane , love it ! Those wheels look pretty fun to coat with all these little spoke 😂 !
Thanks for watching. Yes, those wheels exhausted my fingers and my patience!
Great work again 👌🏻. Would love to own a radgarage plate 😮💨

@@RADGarage seems like I have to steal it when I’ll be in Calgary once 😉
@@janipod I’ll have one ready for you! 🤘
@@RADGarage the flight is on my bucket list and also a bag of money to snap of the detailing shops
@@RADGarage Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate your opinion.
Precioso !!!
Gracias 🙏
I would like to meet him but it is quite a journey to go to Canada to view at old BMWs and Ricks RAD Garage :)
Take care!
Hopefully, Thomas will chime in and you guys can chat about all the internals. I just know how to make them look good.
The car turned out absolutely amazing!! Sorry it’s taken so long to reply here. The car was fitted with a Getrag 245 5 speed, it’s the overdrive transmission from the E21 320i.
I may have a Getrag 235/5 sitting on the shelf for a race car build that is underway… maybe we can talk Rick into showcasing it when it’s all done…
The Getrag 245 fits in to the 2002 with the slightest indent of the trans tunnel close to where the gas pedal sits… but it doesn’t take more than half an inch and she is in with enough clearance, just need to shorten the driveshaft.
Thanks for responding to my favourite Swedish viewer!
Hi great vid and amazing car! I love the old shapes. Hey regarding your comment on lower than normal views, is it due to YT releasing that crazy shorts tab? Maybe you have to do a little dance or something? 🤣
Yeah, I probably have to become a Tiki's-Tok'er now to survive in this online environment!
@@RADGarage 30s car detail? Hope not.
Don't worry. I will always do things my tasteful way!
Awesome video Rick. What's your process to get rid of the bugs?
These were fresh insect remains so the foam and follow up rinse was all it took. I do have a few insect removers I’ll use on really baked remains.
Very nice labor of love. Just curious on the plating costs vs buying new parts.(when available).
Enjoy!
OOOPS commenting on the wrong video - sorry
Haha. I was a bit confused. Thanks for watching though! 🤘
Awesome results Rick, as per usual! Do you dilute the Adams Wheel & Tire cleaner in your pump sprayer? If so, what dilution ratio do you find works well?
I previously diluted it, but I much prefer using it full strength. It’s not a particularly aggressive cleaner from my experience. It’s just right.
What’s your camera/lens setup & slider? Quality work! Definitely subscribed!
Nothing too fancy. I use a little remote mobile camera dolly with my Sony a6100. I think I am going to pick up a second camera shortly. I have been eyeing the a6400. Thanks for the support!
Lovely. How did you enjoy the Onyx, did you enjoy the scent?
He loves that stuff lol.
Yes, I do love it. It’s like the expensive hand cream my wife insists on buying, but for tires.
@@RADGarage Right with you man its very satisfying to see the foaming action.
Nice job, but dang, you use a ton of pressure. Foam pads looked flat.
Those Rupes Yellow pads go soft very quickly. I use very little pressure actually.
What do you think of Nv Snow and Snow+? And how do you think they compare to something like carpro reset, koch chemie gsf, or gyeon bathe?
All of those shampoos you listed are in my upper echelon. I love them all and enjoy working with all of them. The NV duo of Snow and Snow+ lead the pack imo.

My favorite BMW
What do you do to clean and maintain your lambs wool wash kit?
I just thorough rinse it clean, fluff it quickly with my hand and let it air dry.
What did you think of the foam?
Snow+ is in my Top 3. Great stuff.
What is the good color for BMW e30??
I love them in white!
What’s speed do you run the polisher at for cutting and polishing?
For cutting I'm around a 4 and I like to boost it up to 5 when I am doing the polish.
Thank you so much for the reply
Always a pleasure to connect with viewers.
