Incredible job Rick! I so wish I had a place like yours and take my time to put in these amazing angles. You feel really invested in this detail! Thank you for sharing this project and keep up doing what you love!
Despite what it may look like, the owner really loves and cares for this car. The problem is, unless you have a garage that is decked out as your own detailing studio, there's not a lot people can do in this city to maintain their cars year-round. Plus, the average person has no idea what products to buy or how to use them because there are just soooo many out there. So, I completely sympathize with people and I feel like I can give their cars a new lease on life and I am happy to do it.
Hey Rick. I appreciated how you said/wrote “ 12 hrs invested”. I’ve done many many exterior wash/dry complete with an extensive interior detail that have taken me 12 hrs as well. I’ve bumped into other detailers that have darn near mocked me for taking so long for something that they say should only take 4 hrs. I’ve been tempted to reply with a snide remark but I just reply with “I didn’t get paid to clean it I got paid to detail it”. I’ve been in your garage and your set up is absolutely astounding. I would expect nothing less than a “WOW” from your customers and/or buddies. Who cares how long it takes as long as the customer appreciates a “JOB WELL DONE”
I appreciate your comment Chris. Yes, it could be done faster, but fast is not my priority. If I were a pro, my entire approach would change and I don't think I would enjoy it nearly as much. With two full days of "garage time" invested, I was able to take my time and approach each and every step carefully and methodically. I wish I had more time to film the work that went into the interior details such as the all-season floor mats for instance. I was picking tiny rocks out of the grooves with a toothpick! I washed them with Adam's Rubber Mat & Liner Cleaner then finished with 1Z Einszett Deep Plastic Cleaner (need to add that to the product list!). The mats alone took me an hour. That's how I do it and that's why I have people requesting for me to work on their cars.
@@RADGarage i actually think it's amazing all the work that was completed in 12hrs (basically 1 whole day). Full exterior and interior detail, with meticulous attention to things like the floor mats, exterior was not so bad but interior was filthy (for a Porsche). my new favourite channel!
@@socalguy829 Thanks for acknowledging how projects like this are more complex and time consuming than some people realize. It truly is a labour of love.
...and that's exactly what it should be. A detail should be done right and to a high standard. Anyone can vacuum and wipe some product over the exterior and interior. The specialist care and precision is what makes the difference.
What a transformation! You could practically hear the Porsche go "Ahhh, that's better!" That was a lot of work in just 12 hours. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the great work!
