Could you help me? I have a simple 3D plane I want to add a metallic texture but when I bake it turns out black, even with 0 value :(

@@SpowlStreams you have to bake the diffuse map first with the metallic value set to 0 on all materials. you can also add an rgb node into the metallic value of the principle bdsf material output to control which textures you want to diffuse by setting to either 0 or 1. Next after hopefully getting all of your diffused colors onto your map you will then need to export a metallic map. Blender doesnt have this by default so you have to use emit in the bake settings. Make sure all colors that dont have metallic values are set to zero and all colors that do use metallic settings are set to 1. Also do not bake with direct or indirect lighting on.

unfortunately baking the texture with combined on included scene lighting into your back if you want to import the object into another project it wil have the lighting from your modeling file baked in. you have to use diffuse to get straight up color with no lighting baked in.

Im havin the same poblem, metallic to zero and tried many things. when i try to select the new image(where im going to bake) and the object a message prompts telling me those arent valid objects.

add a image texture to every material on your object do not connect it simply select the default image with the convetion you named diffuse map. If you do not add an image texture to every material on your object you can get this error also make sure you did not select "Selected to active". Select active is for cage bakes and baking to low poly meshes. If you are just simply making a bake for a model export you need to make sure the selected to active box right under influence field is deselected.

also make sure you have selected the image texture you created to bake your diffuse map to. If you do not do that you can also get an error or no result. Each materail must have an image texture and each materials image texture output needs to be selected before baking.
