So glad you have added the 3 Pro and 3 Plus to your reviews. I totally agree that Elegoo has done an amazing job. I started with a 3 but quickly shifted to a 3 Pro and have not looked back. Hello. I have an Ender 3S1 and I'm thinking of buying another printer, I'm thinking of something equal or better than my Ender on a tight budget, would you recommend an Ender pro or Elegoo 3 pro? I'm also thinking about the Sovol SV06 Plus.
Look who is growing up! You're getting bigger lady! I hope you are considering a job as a news anchor or something you would be great and these videos are excellent experience. Great channel guys.
Great review. I ordered the Plus over a month ago which should hopefully ship any day now and the Max on Monday when they were back in preorder stock. For the price and features these can’t be beat. I like how they are based on the STM chipset so they can be added to the Sonic Pad easily which I have hooked up to my E3P. I was considering getting the SV06 Plus also but the build quality on Elegoo seems better.
Well done, I tried to grab a Neptune 3 Max once they became available. Unfortunately, I was just a bit late even after getting the notification they were available! Good review looks like decent printers. I've not seen that fume extractor before. I mainly print, PLA, PETG, and carbon nylon. I'm investigating ASA and ABS next so fume control will be more important. Thanks for a great video!
That nylon test is really fascinating...I've shied away from printing nylon because I've felt that even a small area where the filament is exposed to atmosphere would be enough to cause moisture problems. You've got a couple feet of the filament path open to air and that wrench prints beautifully. I might need to dust off the various nylon samples I've accumulated over the years and give them a closer look. Anyway, I can see why so many people are raving about the Neptune 3 Pro - it seems to be the complete package, particularly for people who are on a budget and don't want to spend a lot of time tinkering or troubleshooting. The value of the Plus really stands out, too, as I felt like I got my Artillery Sidewinder X1 for an absolute steal from Gearbest in August 2020 for $359 and the Plus looks to be superior to the X1 in most ways...and sells for $30 less than what I paid for the X1, which was $60 less than what the X1's going rate was on Amazon back then and a whopping $130 less than what the SWX2 is selling for right now. I also love your auxiliary cooling fan setup. I wonder if these kinds of fans will become more popular among modders or in new printers released over the next year or two, given the success of the aux cooling fan on the Bambu Lab printers. And every video I see with the Creality Sonic Pad makes me want to get one more. Creality's dominance in the budget printer market is certainly being threatened with solid offerings from Sovol and Elegoo, but as long as printer manufacturers shy away from Klipper they will have a chance at getting their products into even more homes and businesses with how easy and powerful the Sonic Pad is. Great review, as always!
Hello. Please tell me, at 13:00 you insert a flash drive with firmware into the printer. The message "Update Firmware " appears on the screen. Tell me, should the loading bar reach the end? This process takes me a very long time. Is it possible then, in the clipper’s web interface, to understand that the firmware for the printer has been successfully installed? P.S. Sorry for my English )
Do you have or would you consider a video dedicated to setting up the sonic pad on the Neptune 3 max? I’m unfortunately not able to entirely understand the instruction in this video. Thanks.
Thanks for the help. I just picked one of these up yesterday after I just couldn't get a Raspberry Pi up and running. I used your files and it connected. It worked a few times and then the extruder started to go to the back right side of the bed after it laid the first line on the left side of the bed. I don't understand the codes at all. I figured the printer.cfg file was telling the extruder that it need to go there. I looked into the file and finally noticed the measurements were 235, 235, and 280. I fixed it to 225, 225, and 280, which seemed to work. I updated the Sonic pad; this could have been the cause, but I think it was happening before. I can not seem to get the camera to capture video/time lapses. The camera seems to work fine to monitor the printer but I an hoping to figure this out too. Again thanks for the help.
Excellent review! I stumbled across your channel while looking for information on a different printer a few months ago and I've been a happy subscriber ever since! That said, question about your experience with the Neptune 3 Pro. I just picked one up a few weeks ago and absolutely love it but I've been unsure about what nozzles to use when it comes to a 0.6mm or a 8.mm size. Would you mind sharing what nozzles you successfully used? Thank you and keep up the awesome work!
I appreciate your work Aurora - but was wondering how did you increase the speeds so much without a nozzle change / hot end swap? I am testing my hotend volumetric flow rate with PETG and it seems to be around 7.2mm^3 /s which limits my perimeter print speed to 40/45mm/s
I can't decide between the Neptune 3 Plus and the Artillery Sidewinder X2... Both videos were great, with great examples, points, summary of pros and cons... I think you make these videos too well :P top tier content.
You can, if you look around a bit, find a discount code for Artillery x2 which gives you a machine for $245(EU), this and the fact that Artillery can actually be bought makes the choice easier perhaps?
Nice, looks like a slightly more polished anycubic vyper, but essentially the same without any bed leveling nobs, a dual gear exruder, same 2 peice assembly. Wouldnt be surprised if they sourced parts from the same manufacturer, the PEI sheet looks the same too. Whats wierd is i get the same layer line artifcats under the hull near the back like the benchy shown here doing 120m/s... thats so weird. I also saw a guy reviewing an anycubic kobra ax with with the same artifacts but thought i was imagining it until i seen it agiain here. Is this a gcode thing? could be a certain set of moves producdes this? Strange, they actually seem to disappear in the higher speeds like 150 mm/s and 200 shown here... hmm or that could be the lighting hiding it. Wonder if theres a common underlying issue spaning 3 different printers maybe? would be cool if someone could crack that case. Anyway it was easy to assemble like this one here athough i sort of wish it came more disassmebled (my vyper) because when i went to take apart my hot end to fix a jam i decided to rotatemy rods for fun but didnt really know how to put them back correctly. After watching some videos on similar style printers i figured it out ant it prints even better then factory, so it would be nice if they gave instructions how to tune everything properly, correct order of assembly, really let the printer print as best as it can because as good as it can come out of the factory, it will need a tighten eventually, my bed took like a week before it stopped having play after tightening, i had to keep doing it for a while as it settled in. Things like that wiill prevent it from ever being perfect from factory so some tuning advice/instruction would be nice.
I am wondering too. I'll be building a farm soon with printers big and small. Same price = anycbc kobra or vyper or elegoo np3 pro Smae pirce anycbc max and np3 max I have a kobra and ı love it. I can use standrt machine and 80 -100 mm/s Np3 whats the speed and whats your favorite for the farm
I have the Max and love it, I am adding the sonic pad to and some other upgrades also, I am wanting to go bigger on the nozzle size but can’t find anything for PETG on cura , any help would be appreciated and you do an awesome job
For PETG, you can use the same settings; just duplicate the PLA profile, change the temperature to 235°C and 85°C for the bed, and adjust the cooling to 40% maximum or completely turn it off depending on what you print. These settings have worked fine for Eryone, Sunlu, Prusa, and many other different PETG filaments I have used.
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial video. My question: Is there anything piece of code/configuration I need to remove from the printer.cfg file if I am not using Sonic Pad?
Hello, great video. I've had the Neptune 3 Max for a week and I can't find the settings for TPU. Could you share yours with me? And if you could give me some advice on TPU, I would be immensely grateful
Aurora, I just got the sonic pad setup and I followed your video pretty much as I could until the slicer settings. Prefer Prusa, is there a video where u setup a profile for klipper? Also when I started a print, the purge line was off the bed, and then the printer went to the far top right corner and paused right after and I had to hit resume. any idea what would cause that? this is on a elegoo neptune 3 pro btw
@@luizgustavoguimaraes381 For me the solution was changing the config file of the printer, in the aurora config the filament_sensor is used as a motion sensor i just changed the code for a switch sensor the code is something like this: [filament_switch_sensor filament_sensor] pause_on_runout: true switch_pin: PB4 instead of the aurora one, that is this one: [filament_motion_sensor filament_sensor] extruder: extruder pause_on_runout: true switch_pin: PB4

Merci pour cette vidéo je viens de commander la max je la reçois en Avril

You guys always do a Great job !!!
I was told you had a video for a profile of the Neptune 4 but cannot seem to find it.
Amazing source of info thanks a lot :)
Can you also create a printer config for the Elegoo Neptune 3 Max? I can't manage that but I would like to use it with the Sonic Pad.
wow, this is awesome. I jsut got my elegoo pro and it prints awesome but it's SLOW. if I can up the speed and keep the quality sign me up!
Just regular MK8 nozzles that you can get a box of 24 for less than $10 on amazon:

I appreciate your work Aurora - but was wondering how did you increase the speeds so much without a nozzle change / hot end swap? I am testing my hotend volumetric flow rate with PETG and it seems to be around 7.2mm^3 /s which limits my perimeter print speed to 40/45mm/s
Great in-depth review! Would you recommend the Neptune 3 pro or the Sovol Sv06?
Onde posso obter o stl para suporte ao ventilador adicional?
Where can I get the stl for the support for the additional fan?
I can't decide between the Neptune 3 Plus and the Artillery Sidewinder X2... Both videos were great, with great examples, points, summary of pros and cons... I think you make these videos too well :P top tier content.
IMO, Neptune 3 Plus is the best in the same range.
@@AuroraTech Thank you so much for your advice, that's that then :)
Same price = anycbc kobra or vyper or elegoo np3 pro
Smae pirce anycbc max and np3 max
I have a kobra and ı love it. I can use standrt machine and 80 -100 mm/s
Np3 whats the speed and whats your favorite for the farm
How do I best tune the belts and wheels - how should it feel or move like when done correctly?
Elegoo killing it lately!
What was the acceleration that klipper suggested for X and the Y after the input shaping calibration? BTW, amazing thorough review, congrats!
Hi, would you by any chance have a printer cfg file for the max? or would i just need to change the size in the file? Thanks
I need it too! did you find it?
Well done I must say. Can you use the PrusaSlice with these units?
I have the Max and love it, I am adding the sonic pad to and some other upgrades also, I am wanting to go bigger on the nozzle size but can’t find anything for PETG on cura , any help would be appreciated and you do an awesome job
For PETG, you can use the same settings; just duplicate the PLA profile, change the temperature to 235°C and 85°C for the bed, and adjust the cooling to 40% maximum or completely turn it off depending on what you print. These settings have worked fine for Eryone, Sunlu, Prusa, and many other different PETG filaments I have used.
have you got the .cfg file eaven for the neptune 3 max?
please really need it! can't find it anywere!
It's under the video description.
@@AuroraTech not the max one
@@AuroraTech i mean the one for the 3 max, i used yours but the bed size is different
@@nik00lo I need it too! did you find it?
Aurora, maybe you could give your recommendation for a printer in each price class? Like $200-$300, $300-$500, $500-$800, etc?
love your informative reviews.
Hi Aurora, great video, do you have any Cura or Prusa Slicer profiles for the Neptune 3 pro and Sonic Pad?
Much better review great value for the money
You just won an S! printer on the Creality give away on 3/28/2023. I was watching live
Is it even worth waiting for the Neptune 4 Plus model if one ever comes ?
Have you done some on mimaki or hp full color 3d printer review..that will be cool
You print things really hot. I usually go with 210°C for PLA and 230°C for ABS.
I use 220C for PLA when printing at high speed, for regular speed I use 200-205C.
I love when she says....."Theeen...." ☺
What a great deep review!!! Than you very much. But i want to test ASA filament, so i must to canghe hotend? Any help please...
So you just turn on the fan or do you have to program it?
It would be so cool if you could review the Neptune 4/Pro
Aurora, I just got the sonic pad setup and I followed your video pretty much as I could until the slicer settings. Prefer Prusa, is there a video where u setup a profile for klipper? Also when I started a print, the purge line was off the bed, and then the printer went to the far top right corner and paused right after and I had to hit resume. any idea what would cause that? this is on a elegoo neptune 3 pro btw
Did you figure out how fix this problem?
@@luizgustavoguimaraes381 For me the solution was changing the config file of the printer, in the aurora config the filament_sensor is used as a motion sensor i just changed the code for a switch sensor the code is something like this:
[filament_switch_sensor filament_sensor]
pause_on_runout: true
switch_pin: PB4
instead of the aurora one, that is this one:
[filament_motion_sensor filament_sensor]
extruder: extruder
pause_on_runout: true
switch_pin: PB4
Hello, I have a Neptune 3 Max and I just purchased the Creality Sonic Pad. Could you share the cura maker profiles so I can have that speed base and test them?
do you have a prusa profile for this printer like you do for the EN4M?
I really like your reviews. It's to the point with no fluff.
Just a quick one on this, as I'm looking to get my first printer, am I right to say that klipper can be installed directly without the need of a Pi like some of the older printers? Thanks
Does the sensor need to remain in the printer?
No, after the calibration is done, you can remove it.
How does the Plus compare to the Sovol Sv06 Plus and Sv06 Plus?
What retraction settings did you use please ?
Ok ,please review the privacy policies that go along with these 3d printers, especially the ip, and browser information the companies share with third parties and governments(apon request). Connection to your cell phone also means that you are being tracked.
Your reviews are wonderfully thorough, a criticle review of the "fine print" should also be done on these printers.
Tks.
Great Video, will try it. One question, how you bring the printer back to stock firmware? Only flashing the newest firmware from github?
Just download the latest Marlin firmware from Elegoo if you want to switch back.
Great video as always
I was wondering if one could use the USB port to attach a multi-reader which would accept a USB thumb drive. That way no micro SD card required.
What about the Sovol SV06 and SV06 Plus?
The SV06 is good, but this Neptune 3 Pro is even better, I have also reviewed the SV06 and will review the SV06 Plus soon.
@@AuroraTech Sovol had the sense to put a higher flow nozzle on their Plus version. They then used a proprietary nozzle only available in 0.4 mm. So frustrating.
what do we do for the Max version?
Hello, I watched several of your videos and am very impressed with how well you let us know the ins and outs. My question: I am new to 3d printing. I am torn between the Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro and the Ender-3 S1. They both look like great printers but just not sure. Can you recommend one for this newbie? Thank you
The best printer in the same class is the AnyCubic Kobra 2 Pro:

For other machines I recommended, please visit auroratechchannel.com/
@@AuroraTech Thank you. I'll check it out. Keep up the good work.
@@AuroraTech Being a newbie to 3D printing and not owning one yet, although the AnyCubic Kobra 2 Pro looks nice, I don't have the room as the filament sits off to the side. It won't fit where I need it to go. I am back to square one. There are so many out there it is hard to pick. Any other ideas? Thanks for all your videos and your channel. Very impressive.
Great review. I've been looking at the Neptune 3 Plus & Max as I need a larger print size than my Ender 3 S1 Pro. You have sold me on the Neptune 3 Plus. I have also been thinking about using the Sonic Pad with my printers, I'll give that a try too. Thanks for the review. I was wondering, did you try the Plus at 250mm/s? If so, how did it perform? Also, do these faster speeds work well with PET-G using the Sonic Pad. Anyways, great review. You've given me lots to think about. Thanks
