i got the tronxy x5sa a little over a year ago and having such a large build volume is so amazing. sure most of the things ive made would fit on a normal sized i3 (and many on a voron 0.1), but those moments when you really just want something massive, not having to slice it into pieces and try to glue it is amazing

When dealing with large nozzle prints, you (very) quickly run into the maximum amount of plastic the hot-end can melt (Referred to as volumetric flow). CNC kitchen has lots of in depth videos on how to understand this and deal with it, and how to overcome it.
That said, even 50 mmps print speed (25 cubic mm/second) with 0.4mm layers is faster than I'd ever print. I normally target around 12-15 cubic mm/second with normal hot-ends.

Yes, big nozzles require a big heater too, what's that heater rated for? I do 0.8 nozzles on my machines and you definitely print a bit slower with those big beads! But, the advantage is you can greatly reduce print times with less perimeters needed. For armor and such, I use a 0.25 layer resolution. Also, why type of nozzles does the Neptune use? E3D style?

I was getting the same clogging issue and found that greatly reducing the length of retraction and increasing the speed helped immensely. With a full bowden setup I'm using 2.2mm of retraction speed set at 60mm/s. on top of that make sure the firmware is set up to the correct nozzle size (at least in klipper this is a thing).

Can you make a settings video for the .6 nozzle? I have no ideas what supports to use and such on mine

what slicing software would you use for the Elegoo Neptune 3 Max

What slicer are you using for the Max and Plus? And I heard that it was difficult to change filament mid print.

Nozzle speeds should be dictated by flow rate. For a hotend like that, you want to limit to 12-15 mm3/s which will be much slower than you think for a 0.8mm nozzle. You CAN up your temp but if the printer does slow down it can be problematic.
That printer is MASSIVE and really glad to see your thoughts on it!

I was getting my Neptune 3 Pro up to 20 mm3/s with a standard 0.6 nozzle. Using an AliExpress 0.6 CHT nozzle I was getting 28 mm3/s

@@oneillam1990 You can definitely push it if needed, and those CHT nozzles help A TON.

Probably one could change heat block and nozzle to Volcano (as in Ender 3 and clones, I did for a clone), though it would require new part cooling ducts and probe mount 😉

What’s the fastest speed you’ve been able to get it, you got the plus to 150 and it looked great, can this run at that speed and still look good?

I would love to add one of these to my print slowly growing farm. Thing is, like you I don't really have the space for it. The Nep 3+ is as large as I can go and thats after retiring an Nep 2S for the space.

I am going to wait until it hits and we get some more reviews then hopefully this is going to be added to my farm just for the sheer size and possibilities.

Question on the bed of this. Does the heater cover the full bed? Have a CR10S currently and the bed heater doesn’t cover the full bed, it’s like 1cm short on all sides. So just wanted to make sure it’s good cause I’m HEAVILY considering getting this and selling my 10S

I'm looking to print 1/4 scale F1 cars and then paint them. How does the print quality of this compare to a large format resin printer? What do you recommend?
