Scientifically this wouldn’t even be possible because the Earth’s gravity would rip the moon to shreds before it even penetrated the atmosphere. After the moon is shredded, the remnants would form a ring around Earth, making it a mini Saturn

And that was his biggest mistake
Clearly there’s a better way of doing this. First you go to the top of Clock Tower at the end of the third day and take back your Ocarina from the Skull Kid. You then play the Song of Time and rewind time back to the first day. After that, talk to the happy mask salesman and he’ll teach you the Song of Healing which will turn you back into a Hylian. You then exit Clock Town and go to the Southern Swamp and work through the Deku Kingdom and the Windfall Temple. With that you awaken one of the four giants that will help you stop the moon. Once your done with that, head to Snowhead Mountain and play the Song of Healing mentioned earlier to Darmani III. That will sooth his sorrows and grant you the Goron Mask. Learn the Goron Lullaby to get access to Snowhead Temple and awaken the second giant. Rewind time to the first day so that you can get the horse required to get to the Great Bay. There you will find a dying Zora and be tasked to retrieve his friends eggs from the Gerudo Pirates. Play the Song of Healing when he dies to obtain the Zora Mask. With this you get to take back the eggs from the Gerudo Pirates and take them to the Marine Research Lab where they hatch into Zora and teach you the New Wave Bossa Nova. With that, you play that to the Great Turtle in Great Bay, he’ll bring you to the Great Bay Temple where you will awaken the third giant. You then go to Gorman Track and beat the Gorman Brothers in a horse race to get Garo’s mask so you can get to the Sone Tower in Ikana Canyon to learn the Elegy of Emptiness. With this, you are able to go to the Stone Tower Temple and awaken the fourth giant.
With all four giants awoken, you go back to Clock Tower on the final day and play the Oath of Order to summon the giants and have them hold the moon in place. This is where Majora’s Mask comes off of Skull Kid and acends into the moon. You go with him and get a final battle with Majora’s Mask.
And as you return to Termina, saving the whole world. You say to yourself “ I guess that was my Legend of Zelda：Majora’s Mask.”

So let me get this straight, this mega structure that is still functioning, repaired and fixed their ship in the blink of an eye, also upgraded their bomb. And you're telling me, those guys couldn't just strap some bombs to a dude and killed that thing?
The technology needed to destroy the swarm was only known by the moons A.S.I. Its very likely traditional weapons would have no effect on the swarm since its technology is light years ahead of Earth.

@@nafinbong9222 I feel like a regular nuke could definitely destroy or at least damage it. Nuclear radiation is ionizing and really messes with electronics, which I would assume this AI monster is made from.
If the nanites were capable of being EMP'd then every time there was a particularly large solar flare the entire moon would fail. I'm assuming these gigantic ships and structures we're being presented had modern day anti-electronic devices if not more. Also, how would the swarm even be capable of disabling the ships electronics if it weren't immune to its own effect?

This brings me back to "Don't Escape 4" which had the same premise of the Moon falling towards Earth do to a catastrophe.
Basically just body hop to a point in time where it doesn't happen.
A small but important detail of Asimov's laws you left out is that the second law only applies when it doesn't contradict with the first, and the third law only applies when it doesn't contracict either the first or second.
Basically this means (in theory) that robots can't be ordered to harm people nor can they harm people in self defence.
Not to mention that Asimov's Three Laws Of Robotics ain't a surefire safeguard against AI risin' up against mankind. A significantly advanced AI, given enough time, will decide that humanity must be preserved over an individual life.

Ultimately, Asimov was well into the writing point of his career, and made something that was reasonable, yet still breakable. Something that was plausible for a society to create but, due to narrative needs, could still go awry.

Honestly though. They go over it a bit in the Netflix Show The Umbrella Academy. The way 5 talks about the apocalypse in it and the aftermath it sounds like a hell scape and he said he was the only survivor, which is very likely accurate as he time traveled after the moon fell and got stuck.
Just read the book world war Z. The aftermath of the apocalypse was worse than the apocalypse itself. The movie literally just stole the books name without putting any of the actual book content into it. The world was so bleak after the apocalypse that people were just dying in their sleep. Plus, there was no cure like the movie portrayed. It was a bleak future with nothing to really look forward to. That’s truly what the aftermath of a modern day apocalypse would be like. You’re better off just dying in the first wave, than surviving for a future full of nothingness with no hope.

True. But if there are still people around we can rebuild a better world...Together. Find valuable resources and shelter, use the time we have to reflect on ourselves and make the most out of it like finding hobbies and stuff, and do things to make time fly by. It's better to do something with our lives, not lose hope even in the darkest of days rather than to waste time, If I were the last person alive on earth I would do exactly what I just typed earlier but go out of my way in the wildlife see if there are any animals or even pets like dogs and cats around the cities and befriend them so I don't feel so lonely anymore. it may not be the same as having a human friend, but it's better to have someone accompany you throughout your journey, helping you survive against other predators, and so much more that I can't explain because I don't want my comment to be too long. A sidekick if you would.

My biggest issue with this movie (which wasn't horrible for this genre) is that it is based on a Type 2 civilization not understanding how to use an EMP. If an EMP designed by modern humans is enough to take out one of these swarms, the EMPs of this ancient civilization should have done it easily. Beyond that, the moon is a massive conductive sphere, and they could easily have run power through lines in the exterior to basically turn the entire thing into a celestial-level electromagnetic coil that instantly kills any nanite in the swarm that gets too close.

How to beat: "here is what you should do, the mistakes you should avoid, and how to survive"
That probably would be pretty survivable, A black hole that big would have tidal effects that are neglectable until you're deep inside it. It would probably take far longer then your life before something bad happens. Maybe even far longer then the lifetime of the sun, so it's not that much of a problem for the time being. Like we are far more likely to go extinct because of some other reason before we go extinct from the BBH.
I would simply put it on a diet

The movie writers completely forgot about the human body having its own electrical system, our brain use electrons to send signals that help with our ability to function (like a computer)
The nano monster wouldn't retreat when devices stop, it would've continued after sensing the shuttle crew had electric currents in their system

22:21 The explosion is still likely to fry the monster, both from the force being applied to each individual nanite, and additionally, nuke's going off form EMPs, which would likely hurt it too. You even mention that setting off a nuke in space created an EMP in the past.
The only problem with that is that this is clearly exceedingly advanced technology, and given that the smallest particles of the creature we see it split off are still visible and in fact easily spotted means that there's got to be something taking up that space. It could be thrusters but even that wouldn't take up nearly as much space as we're seeing. I'd bet that every single nanite of that swarm is EMP-proof.
@@glitchwolf1384 All the nanites would have to be covered with a Faraday cage to not be affected by an EMP, but the nanites wouldn't be able to communicate, so that invalidates the possibility of it being EMP-proof.
It would 100% fry the monster because nukes vaporize things close enough to it.

Watched this with family a few days ago. My grandma thinks I hated it bc I called it dumb. Unironically it's one of my favorite movies now for being so nonsensical and wild!
This is like the amv “shelter”. It’s a short story about earth colliding with another planet. Some guy builds a small spaceship for his daughter to be the only human survivor to live in a lonely but beautiful artificially made dream world. Truly heartbreaking if you understand the story.

I was a little disappointed by my favorite actors in this movie. Bogaert quit as soon as he got overwhelmed and Sutherland had all of 2 minutes of screen time. Overall, I enjoyed this movie and it did a lot to cheer me up when I started freaking out about my health when I woke up with a fever after a pretty bad year of getting sick. Also, I like how this movie basically gave science the finger and established its own set of rules, but then threw them out for cheap tension in the rocket launch scene. You would think they would get boosted by the moon if it was lifting the ocean, but in Hollywood, everything has to almost kill you.
I mean… almost anything CAN kill you

I shut the movie off after I saw Casey just standing there looking at the water even though he had plenty of time for his "deer in the headlights" immobility to wear off. I realized it was going to be one of those movies where most of the problems the characters face will be caused by their own stupidity to introduce drama. Also, may I reiterate how annoying Casey's character is and that leaving him to die from drowning probably would have done him more good in the long run?
The logic that ended this whole movie in a minute the earth would crumble under earths gravity and create a beautiful ring system

I swear to god some films have very thought out plots and moments that generally stick to logic and the rules of physics, but they should just hire you for the 80% that don’t. It wouldn’t even ruin the plot in a lot of moments. Want a different reason to retrieve the astronaut to send him to space? Make one that makes sense! The amount of time and money poured into film making makes it well worth it to have a think before proceeding with a script.
