Thank you from Australia 67 never thrown a net before play your happy smile in video about ten times practiced in the lounge with out the throw went out side opened first time your the best .
I have been doing everything right except throwing the weight hand behind me to spin. Which explains why I got distance and semi-open. The gold nuggets you learn in a day can make you very efficient
Thanks, I have a friend that is tall and kept telling me to put lead in mouth. Know I know, I'll practice and teach my daughter, she wants to cast. Again, thanks. That's better than throwing half of it over shoulder.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have watched and tried to duplicate countless videos on how to cast my 6ft net and failed miserably. Until I watched your very detailed video, and you took it a step farther by explaining how to flip the lead line under to create the spin required to open the net. Every other video that I have watched, failed to point that little nugget out! I was able to throw a perfect pancake on my second try. I liked and of course subscribed. Again thanks for taking the time to create this video for us newbies.
Yep I say it is a good video, about 5/casts and I got a good cast, not a complete pancake yet but, I'll keep working on it, KS, Lake Tawankini in Texas, East of Big- D, 🤠🏈, 4-ever man!!
Dude! I bought my first cast net about a week ago. First throw grabbed a couple of Manhattan. Next row got a Manhattan but that was cheating because there was a big ball in front of me. Everything else has been a total disaster. I have watched dozens of videos trying to explain this to me and yours is by far the clearest and easiest example of what to do. Thank you! Tim
Jc thank you man I’ve been struggling with my new 8ft cast net for the longest I literally tried your method and boom first try fully opened i even yelled for my wife to come see and made her watch me do it again and boom fully opened net thank you!!!!!
I just learned this simple method. It took me a while to figure out his technique. One of the keys of his method is to not throw the net hard and far. Also notice how he grabs the net with his pinky and other finger, hold on to that part and let it automatically pull out of your fingers. I had to learn a different method because my new net is really heavy. Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/_lxgfVT_9VE/v-deo.htmlsi=IeTDgeXqr4hQbHzw
Just tried this method out with my 8’ net and i like it. Tried another way and couldn’t even get close. With This method I’m getting like a 70% spread. With a little practice I’ll be be throwing pancakes in no time. Gonna try getting some bait tomorrow. Wish me luck! And thanks for the helpful video!
You are welcome. Since making this video I've discovered that it works best if I grab the top area of the net with my thumb facing toward the lead lines. In other works opposite of how I grabbed the to of the net in the video.
So, the seller experienced challenges with the great interruption in the supply chain, but never gave up in getting me the kayak. Great integrity and we’re always kind and helpful…
I copied your excellent tutorial but you're saying it's a "third" on the shorter side BUT, clearly, it's more like a half or a little more. You're vids have helped me fish and catch more. Many thanks :)
This helped me with a freshwater cast net that landed me alewives and thus my buddy a nearly citation size Striper Hybrid two nights ago......it nearly got me a musky, but he cut me off on the hook set.....
I have a smaller one, so I skip the 1st "curl" and just add the 1/3 of the net to my fist thats holding the net and rope. Everything else is the same for me. To think I used to put a piece in my teeth when I was younger. Great video!
Thanks for the lesson Uncle Rico! I bet you could throw that net over a mountain! Seriously, thanks for the tutorial. I have an 8' net and it beats me up.
First video I've watched where I was able to put into practice and get a full open net! It's that spinning action with your left hand that makes it happen and is what I wasn't doing from watching other videos. Great instructional video...thx!
This is way better than what iwas doing. My arm was tired from separating weights, now everything sits on the ground until I throw it. Much easier , cleaner and faster.
Very nice job explaining at a nice pace. Having difficulty getting it to open on the right hand side from the 1:30 to 6:00 o’clock position. Any suggestions. Thx.
Dude...big fan. Just gotta say this was the best how to for a 6' net I have seen. I have been trying other methods and just couldn't get it. I get it open every time with this method and great instruction!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for posting this. I think I have the same net and I was practicing today, and it was an ultimate fail. So you have really helped me out a lot.
I've perfected it some since making this video. What I've found is when you grab the net at the top, grab it with your hand in the position where your thumb would be pointing down toward the bottom of the net. That seems to work best. I hope that makes sense.
This is the technique I use but I tweak the technique a tiny bit because I'm throwing my net off a pier that's 15 ft up and over a railing. If you're in that situtation. Don't twist the net at the end of your throw. You'll over rotate every time. When you grab the lead line with your other hand take it up to the hand that is holding all the net and put it under your thumb and grab another one just like how he does. Like that I can chuck a 10ft net over the railing without it hitting the rail and 15 ft out and about 15 ft down from the pier. Release it all when your arm is parallel with the railing. There's so much hang time that by the time it hits the water it'll open up fully. You don't need the extra spin unless you are at ground level! Long story short: don't put extra spin on your throw if you are more than a few feet above the water. It's not needed. Even from a dock I don't need the extra twist and if you are really high up release earlier. You'll find the sweet spot in no time.

@@RadReelingFishing Walmart sells the EZ Cast Net for around $45ish I can get a perfect pancake spread with one hand I got a 6 foot net that I use just for bait fish. How do you get your net so soft and flexible? Or is it a higher price brand that just came that way? That thing looks like it would be a pleasure to throw, just opening flat like a sheet of paper every toss it’s so nice and soft.
The net is really good for the price I paid, very flexible material for sure. I'm pretty sure there's a link in the description area to the net. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@RadReelingFishing thanks for the reply. Says it’s made of copolymer and those are good prices. Wish that the local stores carried more brands. I tend to go through nets pretty quick due to heavy use.
