That's a good way to go about it. I wish everybody would start improving their health that way. I believe measures like this and adding some exercise to the equation may be enough for most of us. No unnecessary, expensive multivitamin supplements may be needed. Ag1, I don't know. If you don't have any documented vitamin or mineral deficiencies it may be totally unnecessary.
I did the same thing since October I lost 17lbs, my kidney functions improved and my A1C as well. It’s amazing that the world is filled with sugar, and carbs.
Apple Cider Vinegar 3 spoons per day mixed to the water, Vitamin D3, K2, Nattokinase, no sugars or carbs almost at all. I have lost 20kg (106kg--> 86kg, male 185cm). Next month I have been 1 year totally sober. This is the longest time during my whole life that my weight has stayed within 1kg difference the whole year. I do 20-24h fasting 1-2 times per week and it is excellent for my body and mind. What made me to do it and keep it up? Terminal cancer. Still here, nothing visible with contrast agent anymore. So, people, please pay attention for these things!
I did, but still these things help if you go into details how cancer cells develop and grow. I'm among 1% of people with the diagnosis what I got. I'm not saying that I will survive even 10 years but what Shawn is pointing out here, YOU can make a difference. How do you survive if there is not medical system like now there still is?
People in America eat processed, packaged, canned food, engage in tobacco and alcohol use. They refuse to take responsibility for themselves. Cancer is a great teaching tool because people choose to eat unhealthy. If you eat Indian curd everyday not American yogurt, one will never get cancer. Americans do not care about immune system. In Kerala, Curd is our main prebiotic. Americans have never cared about obesity, heart disease, Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. People do not make an effort to get well. They rely on there doctors for everything because they choose to remain brainwashed with there health ideology. It is pathetic why Americans do not fast, yet make excuse after excuse not to get well. You can fast for two months and be healthy.
See Jeff de Prosperis on youtube for example of a no carbs/sugar, keto /carnivore diet (to put cancer into remission) .Cancer needs glucose as fuel ,but no carbs =no fuel for cancer cells .ketones fuel our healthy cells on a keto/ carnivore diet .
I was 423 lbs 10 years ago, now 241 as of today. I am unable to walk much but I do exercise from my chair. I limit my calories to 1500 (I am now 77 years young). You inspired me to start this journey and to be more active. 40 more pounds and I will have my knees made like new! lol…… my husband and I will be married 55 years on April 19…… longer than you have been on earth!
Congratulations on losing so much weight! Bravo. Great job exercising from your chair. you should look into the carnviore diet. This is a very healing diet and weight loss diet combined. channels for carnvore diet: dr ken berry (see his videos: carnviore for beginner, carnivore flu, electroyles), Dante freedom carnivore (he lost 90 pounds), Homestead how (he lost 100 pounds, got off all rx and healed his body), Kelly hogan (she lost 100 pounds & healed her body), Steak and butter gal (watch her vds on what to eat in a day), Dr Chaffee, Shawn baker md podcast, Carnviore solider, Bill notts (he lost 200 pounds in the last 8 months!) and many more (all of these have tons of interviews of people that have healed their bodies & lost weight. Look up Marie emmerich channel and s. ite do a serch for "marco calculator" (free) and figure out how many calaries and how much fat, carbs & protein to eat. Also look up her PSMF diet that you can combined with either keto diet or carnivore diet. Her books are excellent and your library may have them. Carnviore diet/keto diet with PSMF will help you tramendously to keep your healing journey going. Take care.
Smalfry please se. e channel Marie Emmerich carnviore, keto & PSMF diet. Her vds are excellent and her methods work wonders to heal the body & lose weight. She has books (library may have them). Congrats on losing so much weight & your exercise program. take care.
Congratulations Shawn! Ive been following you for several years and what you do is truly an inspiration! I'm 56, Blood pressure 2 years ago was also in the 140's over low 90's while on 40 mg of Lisinopril. I started using cayenne pepper powder, 8 oz of water, and a tablespoon of raw unfiltered unpasturized local honey a year and a half ago religiously everyday, started more of a carnivore diet, and increased my activity level as much as I could due to severe disc issues but today im 12 days, 100% off my BP meds, cholesterol meds, and over the last 4 months have lost 42 lbs. My resting BP is averaging 111/68 and active BP is averaging 121/74. I've been telling my Dr for two years that I will get off of all my meds because im not feeding the big pharma family anymore. I've taken my health into my own hands with diet, being more active as well as more natural ways to fix health rather than the big pharma band-aid that's thrown at us. Our food system is broken. Getting back to whole foods, healthy choices, and good clean living has been clouded over for so long but many are finally waking up and seeing the big picture and how to fix it ourselves. Great Job shawn!
Without our health we have nothing. Home grown, being self sufficient and learning new things will change lives for the better. And stop eating processed food. No fast food!
week 10 through 14 or so gets tough but 100000% worth it. I make a cream cheese, vanilla, cheese cup cake for once a week prize. I add cinnaminnnaminimon to mine while its whipping. No carbs, no sugars, and a half black coffee resets me for a week of protein/eggs
Its not what You eat really but how much energy body has to heal itself. I rather think that is the biggest secret in this world that the big pharma does not want us to know. Body is a self healing organism. We just have to let it do it. So the lighter the diet the better. Im plant based and that also let my body to heal. So yess many ways but the logic is always the same- keep it simple and as light as possible. I have just never liked meat personally. But works for some yess
2 yrs carnivore here. 76 y.o., Lost menopausal weight, BP normal again, a ton more health issues resolved, tons of energy, brain fog gone, sleep better. It gets better every day when you are eating a proper human diet!
It’s always a good thing when individuals discover which lifestyle benefits them the best. Glad that you found yours. I’m the opposite lifestyle; plant-based diet and I’m a swimmer. My blood pressure, weight and AC1 dropped to the point where my doctor took me off diabetes meds. Thanks for sharing your journey and hopefully folks will benefit from your info too.
Happy birthday early! My blood pressure was up big time every day ! Not on medication. So I tried carnivore diet and my blood pressure was pressure dropped. Went off the diet by 3 days and blood pressure went back up. So now I am back on the carnivore! No sugar at all! God bless!
Just goes to show no matter how hard you work or how much fresh food, air, and water you get you still fall apart. After about 50 anything can happen and I would have been fine with dying at that point, but now am 63 and no doctors or meds so I'll go till I drop. Friends of mine are carrying around bags of pills and they still have problems. Drugs just cover up the problems and most of the time fix nothing.
Im 61 and am falling apart. I was a go getter until I hit a wall at 58. I fell and fractured my left arm, a big plate and six pins later, I had been working on a sore hip for a few years and was told by a orthpedic surgeon to lose wieght because I needed a right hip replacement due to bone on bone and left hip was slightly better. That started blood pre 19:07 ssure meds, pain meds, meds for inflammation... I only took tylenol or Advil before, no other meds. Dang, getting old is for the birds but im not going to lay down and die. We must march on!!
My husband and I sold his house right outside of Columbus, OH last May, and moved to the mountains of South Carolina. We are completely out of debt, except for financing a small shed for his tools, lawn mowers, and such. This is my year of cleansing my diet/body. I am buying 1/2 a steer that is completely grass fed and NO hormones. We only eat fresh eggs and raw milk, buttermilk, and i will be learning how to make fresh butter soon. I have planted the largest garden I've ever had in my life as well. I am on a medication that i am going to slowly wein myself from to see if i even need it any longer. It's for migraine headaches. I quit smoking 6 months ago after smoking for 40 years. I haven't lost any weight yet, but my blood pressure is so much better. All the changes i have made have already had a positive impact on my body. I am breathing better, feeling better, and thinking a little clearer as well. A lot of it i attribute to your channel, and a few others that recommend not just self sustainability, but cleaner living overall. Thank you, Shawn, for all of the excellent advice and examples you provide for us every time you put out a video.
I'm not a medical person but my sister has migraines. Making sure your magnesium intake is up there would be helpful for the migraine issue. Might be something worth looking into for you. congratulations on your new place enjoy your garden
i am 57 (58 next month) this time last year i could hardly turn my head do to neck issues, also had major knee pain and constant shoulder pain. I stopped drinking soda, all seed oils, anything processed and also added collagen to my diet. I felt a big difference in just a few weeks. I later an AG1 like product (i also tried AG1) and by Dec i was virtually pain free. unbelievable difference. We bought a little bread maker (have you read the ingredients label of bread lately?) and haven't eaten store-bought bread/buns since December. Last month I started to follow more of a carnivore diet and dropped 20lbs. At soon-to-be 58, this is truly the best i have felt in a decade if not longer. The best thing anyone can do is drop the soda/processed drinks and anything with seed oils in them. The soda was hard but it made a huge difference.

Glad to hear you feeling better Shawn! I started taking care of my health at 19 years old due to being extremely unhappy about my health both mentally and physically and it is such a contrast in daily life when you find what works for you. Nice to hear that you have found your way and as always thanks for being an inspiration, cant wait for the day i build my own cabin. Meanwhile your videos keep me dreaming and im thankful for that
I'm 65 years old. I have been on carnivore life style for over a year now. I haven't been in better shape since I was 18.I rest my case. Shawn Good luck with your new life style. BTW I'm not taking any medications.
This is amazing. My husband and I have been working on getting him off blood pressure. We moved to North Idaho ( an hour from the Canadian border) and built a greenhouse 4 years ago after buying our 5 acre property. Created an outdoor garden also. We buy very little processed food and are aiming for zero. We’ve watched you when we were still living in Oregon. We don’t trust Big Pharma so thank you for pointing us in this direction. We also started grounding.
73 years now, went carnivore 1 year ago. Blood pressure normal, A1C now 5 down from 8,lost almost 60 lbs and 7 inches around middle. No more knee pain, walk lots more now. Feel grate..
Happy early birthday to you. I had surgery on my heart back in February, and they found I had 4 more valve in my heart that it didn't need. It was scary at times, and my heart rate would skip a beat and take off, it gotten as high as 280 over 80 or 147 over 77. I had it. Just stop beating this happened to me in January a mile off the road in a wood getting logs with small 🚜 WD Allis Chalmer and 180 Allis Chalmer. My brother took me to the hospital. My heart stopped beating when I down a tree. I beat on my chest to get it back 180 over 80 by the time I got to the hospital. My heart rate was over 200, and I had never seen so many wires and pads ready to zap my heart .They shot my heart with adrenaline, which caused my heart to level out . I thank the nurses and doctors who saved me that day, and most I thank God for being there.
I was 250 in mid- December 2023 and vowed to loose 50 lbs. been following a clean keto, low card diet with 6/18 intermittent fasting and have dropped 30 lbs. Feel better with much more energy. Cut out wine and after dinner snacking, and no sugar! Lots of salads, free range organic eggs, grass fed and grass finished beef, wild caught seafood. Another 20 lbs to go, but I’m on the way, with lots of exercise and weight training. Highly recommend another UA-camr, Dr. Eric Berg. Lots of knowledge!
I also started taking AG1 along with Vitamin D3 & K2 within the last year along with cutting out alcohol and have never felt better! Glad it is working for you as well.
Ginger is an anti-inflammatory for joints. BP standards have been altered to increase amount of population on meds. Losing weight and limiting processed foods definitely help. Love the videos !!!
To help with joint paint, skin & de-seed tomatoes & potatoes & we also do peppers. It's their natural defense mechanism against insects - it just takes us longer! Stop taking NSAIDS if possible & take ACE vitamins & glucosamine sulfate 1500, & MSM. The one supplement I'd never go would as I age is Hyaluronic acid by lifetime 125mg. It's the gel between ur joints & it diminishes as we age.
Fully carnivore 2 years now and never felt better. My list of health issues was miles long and everything is resolved. Struggling with oxalate dumping from time to time but that’s getting slowly better as well👍 Been listening to Ken Berry, Anthony Chaffee, Paul Mason, Sally Northon amongst others👍 My wife and my son has also gone full Carnivore and are heving great success with massive health benefits. Way to go🥩🤗
Hi Shawn, I have been taking AG1 for 3 months now and it has made a huge difference in my gut health and overall health. The stuff really works. I’m 65 and feel 30 years younger. I’ve always been in good health but this product has made a noticeable difference especially for my gut which has caused me problems my whole life. I wish you and your family well. Great videos. I’ve been watching your videos for about 8 years now.
Happy Birthday Shawn, glad to hear you are off BP meds and your new diet is having a positive impact. I am 67 and while my BP is controlled and I haven't taken meds, I need to work on building my strength. My wife and I avoid processed foods and seed oils and we grow much of our vegetables and fruit.
Congrats Shawn on the weight loss and getting off those meds. I need to get serious and get myself back into good health. I am a 56 year old woman and feel like I am 80. I did lose my husband to cancer 10 months ago and that has taken a toll on my health. Mentally I am feeling better about his loss, just got to start focusing on my physical health now.
My husband and I started intermittent fasting last June. My husband was able to stop his blood pressure medication after 1 month after taking it for 25 years! He is 67 and I'm 59. It also reduced my husband's joint pain and inflammation. My allergies have disappeared and my plantar fascitis was gone within 2 weeks. My mental clarity sharpened and my sleep improved. My husband lost 25 lbs and I lost 15lbs effortlessly! The 2 most informative books we read were "The obesity code" by Dr. Jason Fung and "Fast, Feast, Repeat" by Gin Stevens. It has changed our lives and we haven;t once felt deprived as it is "time restricted eating" and not "restricted eating." As an extra benefit, your food preps will last longer as well!
Well, I turned 71 this past January & not on any medications & not vaxxed. I do my best to eat healthy & I do take vitamins. I don't smoke nor drink anything alcoholic but I drink water, coffee, tea & juice. I have a son who will be 46 yrs old in October & a son who just turned 44 yrs old in March. I haven't seen them since 2012 because I don't have a vehicle & live near Elliot Lake. With rent ridiculously over priced ALL OVER CANADA, it's impossible to move due to the high costs so I'm where I am. I've looked. People are charging $1000 to $2000 a month for a bedroom not an apartment. Shawn - consider yourself having been blessed to be where you are & able to do the things you do. I'm excited to be able to see all the projects you get to do this year now that the nicer weather is somewhat here. I'm still looking for a new place to move but it has to be within my budget not someone else's. Staying healthy is one of the most important things you can do - without it you can do nothing. STAY WELL & enjoy the beautiful weather to come😊 Canadian life - gotta love it. 🇨🇦⭐️ Present Canadian government - 🤮 😊
Happy Birthday Shawn!🎉 Health is our most precious state of being, worth educating for and working on. Our bodies can make amazing recoveries. Keep going...as i know you will. 👍🇨🇦😎💫
I've been ketovore for 5 years and it has changed my life. No more aches and pains, I'm 62, and my blood work is absolutely perfect! Stay as low carb as you can! Carbs are inflammatory.
Happy Birthday!!! Thank you for all your videos! My husband & I have been watching your videos for over 4 yrs (probably longer) We’re on 24 acres & we’ve been on a no processed food diet for 5 yrs. I’m 61 & he’s 70. No one believes our ages. I grow all our own fruits & veggies. We buy/trade grass fed & finished beef from a neighboring farm as well as apples, blueberries, strawberries from neighboring farms. It’s wonderful. About 3 months ago I began Intermittent fasting & now on 1 meal a day. Dropped 15 lbs (10 more to go) I have never felt better. We take vitamins & also do parasite purge every quarter. I ordered the AG1 to fill any gaps. We also have a good stash of certain meds on hand (ones that I’m sure this platform will censure) that were highly effective during the pandemic. I highly recommend everyone stock up. Thank you again for all you do!!!
Thanks for sharing, I've battled gout for over a year. I'm drinking cranberry and cherry juice and that seems to help. I've also stopped jogging because of the overall wear and tear on my feet and joints. I've had to eliminate almost all meat, I have been keto and carnivore for years. I've added back in more weight lifting, but not heavy weights like in my 20's and 30's. I know a lot of people get great help from elimination diets, but be careful with the extremes, I wish I would have been more balanced.
I decided enough is enough before its to late to do something about my health. Ill keep it short. I went the carnivore way, cold turkey. No sugars, no carbs and no processed meats. It was tough the first week or two due to sugar withdrawals. Im six weeks into it and have lost 25 pounds. It amazes me how good I feel too. No joint issues, lower BP and hoping to quit taking those meds, I'm more alert, I sleep better, more motivation, more energy, mental clarity etc. I had cancer back in 2017 and your videos got me through my treatment days. All is good now. I just need to rid my body of all that bad stuff that tends create those situations. Im interested in seeing the progress that you and your family accomplish with the new lifestyle. Happy birthday!
Outstanding video thank you so much Shawn. My wife and I have been starting our own journey such as you and your wife and have come to the same conclusions as you have on health. We have lost 30 pounds and working on our vitamins and minerals daily consumption. I am a 57 male here in Ottawa Ontario and have high blood pressure trying to get off of the pills. When you started talking it all just hit home for me calling my wife in to watch it wilth me. I have bad gout for years usually in the spring and just want to be healthy now. I started watching your self reliance channel as something was drawing me towards you for some reason and after watching this it all makes sense. Thank you for putting yourself out there it has really inspired my wife and I to go even further and try out the AG1 products and follow you along. Really inspiring me to get back to who I am
Paul Saladino and Sten Ekberg completely transformed my life with their approach to nutrition and overall metabolic health. Following a very low carb and high fat diet with zero UPF or seed oils completely cured all my depression and anxiety and I lost 30kg in 3 months, getting back down to a 32” waist which is pretty good considering I’m nearly 50 Getting off all the meds is a major win too
Surprised at the chicken coup announcement. You've mentioned previously on the feed/support issues for the birds. I'm guessing things have changed. Glad you're doing better health-wise.
I hear you Shawn. 51 years old here and I’m Two days into AG1 hoping for good supplemental infusions of what vitamins and minerals I’m missing in my diet! 💪
I have situational high blood pressure so I really have to limit my stressors and control my anger. I have found that deep breathing throughout the day really helps too. You would think living out in the wilderness would help but somehow life can catch up with you. Best of luck Shawn it’s hard when a person has a passion and zest for life like you do. 🌲🦌🦅
I’m so happy for you. I’ve been carnivore a year. I’ve healed all my health problems at 53 plus I feel SUPER HUMAN! It is definitely the PROPER way to eat!
Happy Birthday Shawn!🎉 The best health care system is staying out of the system. I have so enjoyed your self reliance journey over the years. You’re truly an inspiration. Keep it up my brotha and stay healthy! 🙏
Had a TIA scare back on Dec. 26th. Cut out all junk. No alcohol, soda, added sugar. Nothing out if bag or box. No vitamins just good lean meats and all organic fruits and vegetables. I average 1 gallon of water on most days. Walk an average of 1.5 miles most days, down 32 pounds as of yesterday. BP at the doctors office Friday was 119/79. I'm 55 years old and haven't felt this good in years. Keep it up Shawn. Kind of sounds like Gary Brecka influenced diet.
I guess I needed to watch your video today to get myself back into gear. 2 years ago I had health issues. With doing the Cronometer tracking my Micro nutrients and food in take I lost 20 pounds it was great. But I took it for granted and got lazy again. My husband and I doing a lot of camping, canoeing and fishing ourselves. So your video gave me a kick in the butt to get myself back on the health plan like before. So Thanks Shawn for posting this video about your health. I appreciate it. Happy Healthy Gardening this year. Another one of our favorite things to do is garden.
I’ll be 54 as well in 23 days from now, a landscaper/gardener, and fairly healthy, but age does catch up to everyone eventually. I went strict carnivore last fall. The effects were amazing. I too suffered from joint pain, especially in my feet and toes. The inflammation causing this subsided drastically in just a couple days and over the following few weeks. I too lost ten pounds, great blood pressure, belly fat started disappearing, depression and anxiety gone, psoriasis receded completely, energy level way up, focus and mental clarity just amazing…I have incorporated blueberries, nuts, broccoli, mango, honey, etc. occasionally. I have also slipped up with some ice cream and blueberry pie, and some other unhealthy sugars, and felt it immediately. Inflammation, pain, and depression mainly. I will try and get back on track, and stay there as best as I can, but I won’t deprive myself of some things I love forever. I’ll just do the best I can. But I am a carnivore believer. Wish I could hunt and fish the way you do. That must be amazing. I can somewhat where I am, and I need to do it! Anyway, good luck and keep strong!👍❤️
I had all of the same things you have and then discovered the amazing work of Dr Weston A Price from the 1920's and cut carbs 25 years ago. What a world of a difference. These days can follow the excellent Dr Berg on YT or get the books by the sports science legend Tim Noakes from South Africa and say goodbye to join pain due to inflammation. Berg has some excellent easy to follow videos on a lot of other heath issues too and his research is exceptional.
Suffered from severe joint pains, acute frozen shoulder attacks. My natural path pointed out the toxic buildup from wheat, sugar, coffee even chocolate and how they affected the liver and how the overflow of constant toxic intake went to my joints. Eliminating these foods made such a difference. I now know that eliminating offensive foods is the number 1 protocol to better health. And that supplementation is pointless unless those toxic foods are eliminated. It’s also a slow process to better health. We cannot expect overnight success when offending foods have been in our diet for years damaging our organs. Glad you have found a path to better health and especially moved to eliminate the meds from your life. I watched my father decline almost immediately from the typical geriatric cocktail doctors prescribe. These days you’re an anomaly if your not swallowing at least 5 different meds at the same time. In these pharmaceutical driven times, it’s up to us to educate ourselves on their side affects and instead, live as nature intended.
I just signed up and ordered AG1 through you. Folks say it taste good, but not everyone's taste is like mine. Of all the websites I watch who promotes AG1, you're the first one that really took time to tie it to diet and health properties. Thanks
Shawn, I wouldn't think you would have a problem with high blood pressure with the amount of fish and wild game you consume, but then you mentioned alcohol that would explain some issues. I tried AG1 but it gave me stomach destress. I recently researched and found that our processed bread, flours have been stripped of the vitamins, bran, omega oils and fiber our ancestors had prior to 1910 when big grain mills removed the valuable nutrition for the sake of convenience, because the flour had to be used in a short amount of time once it was milled. I purchased a grain mill to grind whole wheat berries to be able to get the vitamins and fiber we need to sustain life, and for storage. A hand mill would would provide if any electricity outages and of course you can bake on open fire, in a Dutch oven . In Ancient times grain was the staff of life! The industry is making us sick and dependent on big pharm!! God bless your new health journey!
Thank you so much for sharing your life and health info with us. Ive watched your videos on both channels since you started. Although I am a 68 year old woman who will not be building any log homes, Ive alwats dreamed my whole life about living in a log home ans living the simple life, growing own food, raising chickens, etc. Seeing you talk about AG1 sparked my interest. Im over weight, with high blood pressure, aches and back pain, and im hoping to energize my body and mind and start living better with better health. I bought a monthly subscription of AG1 from you, and i cant wait to try it. I have a horrible will power when it comes to eating right, but ive got to get in shape. Im looking to buy a little used camper and travel by myself or with a son or few, grabddaughters, whoever. I want to go down in August to see my son in Charleston, S.Carolina. hes a firefighter there and he invited me up to stay and visit as long as i want. AG1 will be going with me! He is very athletic, a body builder and has not been introduced to AG1 yet, but ill talk to him about getting it from you. Im ready to live my life and be healthy!! Thank you Shawn. You are truly my inspiration right now, and i so grately appreciate you and your honest and positive chats and advice. Tonda in Ohio USA (indian Lake !)
Awesome Brother!! I am sure that you are in excellent physical shape from all of the amazing work you do outdoors!!💪🏾 I am turning 47 in November and am quite overweight. I haven’t been able to be physically active at all because I am still recovering from 4 back to back failed spinal surgery from in 2021🥹 Because of my health I haven’t been able to practice my Indigenous Culture in Harvesting or enjoying the land each day like I used to. When I watch your absolutely incredible and amazing builds and adventures I am really inspired to get back out again finally!! This is my comeback year. Moose, Deer, Bear and all upland game and fish plus also exploring the lands and waters once again finally!! It’s been waay too long for me. Chi Miigwetch/Thank you very much for the creating and sharing of your amazing and incredible adventures and projects Brother. Love seeing your beautiful pup Callie too. Have fun, Play Safe Baamaapii/See you again Miigwetch/Thank You Trevor Chenier ✨🦅❤️💪🏾🙏🏾🪶🤗
My bp was also high 150-90. Six weeks ago I quit sugar, alcohol, processed carbs, night shades, and started intermittent fasting. My bp dropped within1 week to 120/70 and now is lower even as low as 96/66. I think sugar is the number one killer.
My gout was directly linked to alcohol, I stopped drinking alcohol for 5 years and not a single gout attack, fell off the wagon and gout attacks returned. My diet was consistent throughout, principally meat, seafood, veggies and rabbit food, occasionally some brown rice, potato, and whole wheat pasta. No sugar or refined cereal/wheat products for 32 years. 5' 7'' 74~78kg.
That’s great! Sounds like you may have discovered Paul Saladino? I started following his way of life approximately 5 months ago and the results have been incredible. I’m 63 and was suffering painful hips and back, along with sciatica in both legs and tingling in both feet. Oxalates were definitely a problem for me. The tingling in my feet has decreased by half, the sciatica has also decreased by at least half and the hip pain is almost completely gone. In another few months I’m sure I’ll be pain free.
My husband and I have just started the fresh milled flour journey. Highly, highly nutritious, wheat berries are loaded with vitamins and minerals. And many with gluten issues can eat foods made with fresh milled flour. Health in America has plummeted since white flour and mass milling in the early 1900’s. That and the switch to seed oils over tallow and real lard. Hoping our blood work shows great improvement in the coming months like others I’ve read about have improved. Looking into AG1.
I turned 57 about a month ago and in all that time I have been fortunate. I think I have taken antibiotics twice in my life when I caught a bad flu but other than that I have been basically drug free. I take no medications, rarely get headaches, or other issues that others my age seem to have all the time. I usually prefer to heal myself by changing my diet, sleep, and exercise. Every now and again I slip and have a few too many drinks with friends or stop regular exercise and my body lets me know and I have to get myself back on track. I do not have a perfect diet, not even close, and I could stand to lose a few pounds, but for the most part I try and take care of myself and I listen to my body and let it guide me.
It looks like you are either doing a Keto-Carnivore/Carnivore Lifestyle, as I reversed Type 2 diabetes, and busy reversing Psoratic Arthritis & Psoriasis! I'm now 63 yrs old. When I started this Lifestyle it 2023/04/02 and I had nothing to lose. Brain Fog is gone, my energy has bounced back, I lost 20kgs, and am working towards ultimate Health! ❤
Shawn, I pray you continue to find what works for you to have great health in the years to come. We have bioindividuality and have to figure out what works best for our own body. Happy Birthday! What we eat has a tremendous impact on our bodies. Back in 2015 my health was at an all time low. Medical system offered very little help in finding root causes. I didn't want to be on medicines either. I began researching on my own and found ketogenic lifestyle. That became keto-vore and then carnivore. I feel amazing when I eat ketovore. Less than 20 grams of carbs is my daily goal. I am someone that does NOT feel well on vegetables. Almost destroyed my gut microbiome because of IBS and doctors saying "eat more fiber". For some people that is the worse advice. Meat is my main source of fuel. I reversed diabetes, insulin resistance, autoimmune issues, improved my cholesterol (HDL went up, Triglycerides went down), improved leaky gut issues and increased my overall energy. The bonus was losing weight. Any time I increase my carb intake for a significant amount of time, the weight, diabetes, etc., all returns. What I was eating caused all my issues! I found my root cause and could do something about it! Dr. Jason Fung says giving insulin to a diabetic is liking giving alcohol to an alcoholic. He is a Canadian nephrologist and has written several books about diabetes.
Glad to hear your diet and lifestyle changes have been a success for your health, looking good and healthy! I feel you on the stubborn belly fat, I'm 26 rn and still haven't gotten rid of it, despite being active and pretty skinny for most of my life its always been there. I don't really put too much thought into my diet though if I'm being honest so that's probably my issue, I think its time to change that lol. Also an early Happy Birthday to you Shawn! Remember it’s not 54 years old, it’s 54 years young 😎👍
I've been watching you for a few years now. You seem like you're a real stand up guy so even though I've seen others talk about this supplement, I've never paid any attention until now. My HBP hovers around 135/81 if I don't take my beta blockers. While I'll continute to take my beta blockers because it's one of the few meds I've ever taken in my life that I have zero side effects from (I'm extremely fortunate) I'm definitely going to give this a try in conjunction. I've got that skinny type hereditary hypertension. haha Thanks for the info Shawn and for all that you do!
Inflammation is literally the body telling you “something is wrong, fix it now!”. Listen to it and be wary of advice from central power such as government or the industrial/pharmaceutical complex. The rabbit hole goes deep.
You probably listened to Andrew Hubetman, for one. And the bare feet on the ground- called grounding. I went low carb 3 years ago and lost 40 pounds. I’m 73 almost and having trouble with muscle mass due to degenerative disc and associated pain and neuropathy, ( can’t do any weight bearing exercises or much of anything because of my back, but at least I’m not carrying excess weight. I’m going to look into the Ag1 but probably can’t afford it. I do take K2d3 ans NAC and a few other supplements. But, I’m impressed with your change. Good on ya Shawn.
Your endorsement of AG1 made me into an instant customer. I hope you are getting paid a good stipend for that service. Dr Laura, Hannity and Bongino have been pitching competitor, Field of Greens for years and I've never bought anything until I heard your heartfelt, personal story. High blood pressure with meds is a challenge for me as well so I will see how AG1 works out combining with my current regimen. For what it's worth Shawn, Have you read Blood Pressure Down by Janet Bond Brill? Low sodium V8 is a great source of potassium to offset the salt.
Happy Birthday, Shawn... and thanks for posting this video. I was eagerly awaiting to hear more about the dietary changes you've made. I tried the Patreon thing, but it wasn't working for me, so thanks for posting to youtube. Overall, it looks like I've been doing basically the same things for the last year or so already, which is encouraging. I find a wholistic, multi faceted approach works the best... diet, deep breathing, cold immersion therapy, yoga, meditation, cardio, heavy weights, vitamin & mineral supplements, natural movement... that sort of thing. Because of my lactose and gluten intolerance, I cut bread, pasta, and dairy (and excess sugar) out of my diet last year, and within a couple months I dropped 20 pounds naturally, without trying anything else, and I've stayed at my current weight since. I think it was the empty carbs. Now I need to find a cure for Fibromyalgia... Thanks again for posting this. All the best to you! ~Tim
Great for your changes. A1 is very expensive for the average person yet there are plant based options for green supplements that are affordable. Eating more plant based and either eliminating meat/dairy or limiting it has great health benefits. Whatever you choose, small changes is better than doing nothing.
@ShawnJames. Thanks for this video. Is very relevant to my 50yo self. On blood pressure meds and local DR. Suggests nothing to fix blood pressure when asked. I will try AG1 and a few other things myself.
I've had good health success on the carnivore diet the last few years. Blood sugars disappeared and my weight has been constant. I'm 66 on zero medications. My neighbor has been on the diet only two months and his gout has cleared up (not uncommon for the diet) and he's already dropped nearly 30 pounds. Mental clarity is another bonus. I also live in Canada and the last place I want to be is in my doctor's office or a hospital.
Good to hear Shawn! Health is the most important part to be able to live the way you want. I see a lot of comments about the carnivore diet.. is that what you’re doing? I’ve been researching this and can’t find any reasons to not try it! Can you share who or which health podcast you were listening to? Thanks and happy birthday!
Well, thank you for sharing your videos with the world. I am always fascinated learning how people survived in the past. I feel that learning survival skills is one of the most important things a person should learn. Years ago, I would ask my 94 year old neighbour Helen, how she survived in Alberta. She gave me many tips of wisdom. She said instead of a refrigerator, they would dig an 8 foot hole on the ground and fill it with ice. Then they put a tiny building above the ice, which they insulated with sawdust. In the winter she would pour water from her well into the hole to create more ice. I suppose if one lived by a lake they could fill it with ice and then pour water over it until it is one solid block of ice. Every day, after she milked the cow, she would place the pail of milk, on the ice, inside the insulated little shack. I have never seen this demonstrated. She also thought it was very important to first save up for a windmill. It might be interesting to see someone demonstrate how to build a windmill. The Inuit are an interesting people to visit. I lived in the Arctic and was fascinated by their innovation and ingenuity. I would be happy to have a conversation with you, anytime. I always enjoy learning from others. 😊
Happy birthday Shawn! ... My birthday is 6 days away (two years behind you) and I also have high blood pressure and need to take off some weight. I am going to take what you've said here to heart, and start making some changes in my life too. What app are you using to track everything?
Hey Shawn, you mention joint pain. Have you looked in to possibly having Hemochromotosis? This is a genetic disorder that causes your body to absorb too much iron. In men, it usually shows up in middle age, and often goes mis-diagnosed or dismissed altogether by providers. The treatment is usually just giving blood and adjusting diet. Just a thought.
Thanks for the inspiration. We are very similar, you and me. I have been taking smaller steps but damn, you hit it pretty hard and fast. Blessings to you and your family.
Congratulations, Shawn, for working on your health, by changing your diet, and getting rid of high blood pressure medication. What I've heard from people in Britain and Holland, is that this medication causes unwelcome side effects. As a holistic foodconsultant, and eternal student of gardening, growing, working in marketgardens, since I was 23 years old, I've chosen organic food, preparing it at home. No alcohol, no extreme sweet snacks or sugary drinks, choosing wholefood shops to buy my food. Changing your diet and nurture yourself with real fresh food and drinks is the best way to go, I believe. Pure, organic quality, for which you're wonderfully prepared, in your Self Reliant lifestyle. I've changed my diet, in early July, by eating far less carb than I did before, and far less bread. Less sugar in my coffee, less milk, replaced by almond milk or oatmilk. After 1 month I'd lost 6 kilogram and lost 1 more in the last month. I've had a strange experience with a blood pressure device that was gone wrong. Pharmacies here offer a chance to measure one's blood pressure, a self-help service, and the device didn't work as it should've done! I found a measurement of 112 and was shocked! I wanted to check my bloodpressure because I experienced extreme bloodsugar level jumps up and down. This was right after a period of extreme stress due to having subtenants in the home that weren't suitable, fouling the place. I immediately checked my bloodpressure again at my doctor's and was relieved to find it in good shape, as always. With a 60 heartrate, excellent. But, since I already had dug into diets for a diabetes-2 cure, I decided to try out a new diet. For a few years I felt that losing 7 kg. was better, returning to my comfortable weight of 74 kg. My doctor advised me to take a bloodtest, not because of expected trouble, but because I've never before done a bloodtest, in 73 years. My health was fine! No worries at all. Now I eat many vegetables, salads, an apple a day, half a banana with oat porridge in the morning. Using about half the amount of cane sugar that I used to put in coffee, tea, and desserts. I'm fond of brown rice as a staple for my warm meals, but I've removed it mostly, apart from about a tablespoon in my dinner. I cook brown rice, or millet, in a small heat resistant bowl, placing it in the center of a pan with water, vegetables, beans, etc. soaking the rice first for 1 night, and let it simmer in the pan until it's done. In the fridge, such a small amount is enough for 1 week (for a 1 person household) and the remaining content goes in the oatporridge. It's fortunate, that nowadays, many crackers are made of lentils, chickpeas, and other non-wheat products. Also spaghetti shows up made of lentils, and soba (buckwheat) spaghetti is glutenfree, although high on calories. Seaweed is also used in spaghetti, nowadays, turning it green. Rich on minerals. As a maintenance dose for my health I use 4 drops of CDS in some water, before sleep. 🖐👩🌾
Concrats to your weight loss and I am going to suggest adding some amino supliments like ( douglss labs) free form amino caps to your diet as well as a form of creatine monohydrate as when you get older your body slows the amount of both that you need and causes you to age faster . I am a former competitive bodybuilder and at 59 monday , I am in great shape , have lots of energy and have noticed far less pain than I had when I was in my 30 years , also I might say that is with a pinched nerve in my lower back and neck , so give it a good look as well as the borage plant that has amazing health bennifits for joint pain , heart health and you can eat the entire plant as the leaves tast like cucumber and the flowers are very sweet ! I think you will be amazed at how many health bennefits the plant has , love watching and hearing your stories , John , best of luck and health !
Tumeric is a natural pain reliever for me Black Cherry is great for gout too..but cutting down in sugars & esting more veggies & grains & natural fruits etc really cuts down on all the pain. Cutting down on all sugars/caffine/ milk products. Changed my life & a naturopathy Medical Physician got me on the daily lemon water cleanse: AM > 1st thing in am - drink 8oz of water with juice of one organic lemon or drops of essential Lemon oil. > brush teeth immediately after -😉 PS - same regime as am just make it last thing you take before bed. (Except water as needed.) Lemon water cleans out every cell as you sleep at night (like a broom), and then the Am Lemon water 💧 flushes all that was cleaned out. After weeks of lemon water > you will crave foods that are high in the minerals & vitamins your body blood chemistry needs. P.S. > It takes some people longer to experience the vitamin/ mineral food cravings than others > depends on unneccessary fat accumulated etc & how messed up system is. Lemon water tx is a real medical study that was under clinical trials. Longevity nurse here!! New studies since 2020 😉 indicate alot of the suppliments you mentioned here should be considered for daily consumption as suppliments in the diet> to help our bodies recover & improve the immune system. 😉 Thanks Shawn for all you do here ❤️ to educate the public. Blessings.😢
Love your videos! What about coffee? Won’t give that up. It becomes a matter of what you’re willing to live without and sustainable. Some eating makes life enjoyable. ❤
Dr. Eric Berg just uploaded a video about coffee, this morning. He recommends some coffee but not to overdo it. One or maybe 2 cups in a day is all. However, there are some very beneficial reasons to consume some coffee... Go and check out his video 🙂
I have very minor heart arrhythmia which is made worse by consuming anything with caffeine. The list may surprise you. While my condition wasn't life-threatening, it did make me physically uncomfortable from time to time, so around 15 years ago I switched to decaf coffee. I made the switch slowly, knowing that caffeine withdrawl can be brutal. I stayed with decaf for about 5-6 years before I quit using coffee entirely and switched to herbal teas, zero caffeine. I've been 100% caffeine free for about 9 years now and it has made a big difference in my overall health, both physical and mental.
@@loragunning5394 There is a Channel in YT call "The Nerve Doctors". I'm finding more and more from their videos that I can use in my daily life. After receiving a Pacemaker, I am on a quest to repair the nerves that caused it... They might have something for you 🙂 Good luck.
Shawn I must say I was surprised when you mentioned you had high blood pressure, gout, joint pains, as a matter of fact I was shocked. You work hard I expected your life would be stress free that in itself is a good thing. The saying is one never knows. Do you think you may be expecting to much of yourself. I realize you are involved in much more than all the things we see you doing at your home. I have never had gout I have heard from a friend who has that it is terrible painful you can have it in different parts of your body, perhaps that accounts for your joint pain, it is a form of arthritis I was told, apparently it calls for a strict diet. Sorry to hear of your health problems, knowing the determination you have Shawn your will power you will beat this. Always enjoy your videos my visits, keep working on your health you got this, thank you for sharing you are appreciated.
I quit sugars, and excessive carbs for three months. The changes were amazing, and not just the weight loss.
I quit sugars, bread, most carbs and alcohol 5 weeks ago, have lost 8 kg of weight and feel amazing.
I cut out most sugars last month. Carbs next. lost over 20lbs so far.
Boring ass life
I did the same thing since October I lost 17lbs, my kidney functions improved and my A1C as well.
So, people, please pay attention for these things!
you didn't follow any traditional medical treatment (chemo, radiation or surgery)
I have Pancreatic Cancer. I am quitting Chemo. Still feel good I will try this.
Great job!
Very well done.👍👋👏👋👏

4th week all in on Carnivore. Inflammation is coming way down. Brain fog is lifting. Depression is getting better. I am getting more and more energy.
It's amazing what happens on a proper human diet. 👍
Exactly.
week 10 through 14 or so gets tough but 100000% worth it.
Life long habits are not fixed by a 💊
My husband and I sold his house right outside of Columbus, OH last May, and moved to the mountains of South Carolina.
You certainly look really healthy in your avatar.

Hard to believe we haven’t been told this
Dr Berry is a good one to follow on carnivore.
My wife is an RN, she said there is NO WAY we all fit into an expectable BP index!
Sick cells need constant and lots of food. Intermittent fasting kills them 😊
Well, I turned 71 this past January & not on any medications & not vaxxed.
I lost 35 lbs since last June. Still working on straightening out a few things. I am off to a great start!
To quote Hank, I'll never get out of this world alive. An understatement if there ever was one. I think it is good to be careful and avoid suffering.
Congratulations!
I hope you had a variety of carnivore, and not just cold turkey.
Following a very low carb and high fat diet with zero UPF or seed oils completely cured all my depression and anxiety and I lost 30kg in 3 months, getting back down to a 32” waist which is pretty good considering I’m nearly 50
Getting off all the meds is a major win too
Awesome news Shawn. Congrats.
Surprised at the chicken coup announcement. You've mentioned previously on the feed/support issues for the birds. I'm guessing things have changed. Glad you're doing better health-wise.
I’m addressing the feed in cooperation with my sister
Are you the friend of late Susan O.?
That is a hell of an accomplishment. Feels good to get out there on your land and do stuff like that for sure.
If you were a better hunter, you could eat more meat and do it too!
ZING!!@@ShawnJames1
Congrats on being fully self-sufficient. It's a real feat these days 👏👏👏
Congrats on the improved health. It's not always easy to change your diet to something healthier, but it's more than worth it in the long run.
I’m so happy for you. I’ve been carnivore a year. I’ve healed all my health problems at 53 plus I feel SUPER HUMAN! It is definitely the PROPER way to eat!
Shawn, great to know you recalibrated your wellness and are hooking your family up with some goodness. 👊🏼
There's soooo many people on UA-cam loving AG1, and so many people bashing it, it's hard to know if it's worth trying.
Happy Birthday Shawn!🎉
The best health care system is staying out of the system.
I switched to a carnivore diet 6 months ago and it changed my life. Everything is so much better. Haven't felt this good in years.
Great job Shawn...congrats 🎉; you always inspire! 😊
Happy Birthday!
I am sure that you are in excellent physical shape from all of the amazing work you do outdoors!!💪🏾
I am turning 47 in November and am quite overweight.
I haven’t been able to be physically active at all because I am still recovering from 4 back to back failed spinal surgery from in 2021🥹
Because of my health I haven’t been able to practice my Indigenous Culture in Harvesting or enjoying the land each day like I used to.
Have fun, Play Safe

✨🦅❤️💪🏾🙏🏾🪶🤗
Thank you very much, sir. I enjoy both channels. Looking forward to this new year.
God please keep Shawn and his family healthy .
Thank you for the video, you are a great inspiration man.
My bp was also high 150-90. Six weeks ago I quit sugar, alcohol, processed carbs, night shades, and started intermittent fasting. My bp dropped within1 week to 120/70 and now is lower even as low as 96/66. I think sugar is the number one killer.
Great that you are thinking good Health you both are still very young. Be safe with that wood and tools flying around. Have a great Spring!
All good James. I’ve been on the same path and I’m also having great results.
Glad you’re sharing.
I love the reading corner of the cabin..
Very good, Shawn. Thanks for sharing about your diet!
I've got that skinny type hereditary hypertension. haha
Thanks for the info Shawn and for all that you do!
That’s what my doctor told me too, it’s hereditary and that I couldn’t resolve it through diet
Inflammation is literally the body telling you “something is wrong, fix it now!”. Listen to it and be wary of advice from central power such as government or the industrial/pharmaceutical complex.
The rabbit hole goes deep.
And it leads to so many other rabbit holes!
Shawn ik wens u een gelukkige verjaardag toe te samen met u familie en nog vele mooie jaren toe ook voor callie ❤️🦋🇧🇪
Nice work James😊
Thanks for the promo link 😊
Looking great Shawn!! What exactly are you eating or not eating?
Look up “animal based”.
Congrats on your positive changes and health results
Verdiğin bilgiler için teşekkür ediyorum. Bütün işlerin yolunda gitsin.
Happy birthday! Good video. What is the tracking app you are using?
Thanks for the inspiration. We are very similar, you and me. I have been taking smaller steps but damn, you hit it pretty hard and fast. Blessings to you and your family.
happy birthday Shawn love your shows and love your beautiful dog glad your doing better.
Happy Birthday, Shawn.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy birthday!
Which app did you use to track your macros/micros ?
Same question! I want an app to track micronutrients. Which one did you use?
Tumeric is a natural pain reliever for me Black Cherry is great for gout too..but cutting down in sugars & esting more veggies & grains & natural fruits etc really cuts down on all the pain.
Cutting down on all sugars/caffine/ milk products. Changed my life & a naturopathy Medical Physician got me on the daily lemon water cleanse:
AM > 1st thing in am - drink 8oz of water with juice of one organic lemon or drops of essential Lemon oil. > brush teeth immediately after -😉
PS - same regime as am just make it last thing you take before bed. (Except water as needed.)
Lemon water cleans out every cell as you sleep at night (like a broom), and then the Am Lemon water 💧 flushes all that was cleaned out.
Thanks Shawn for all you do here ❤️ to educate the public.
Much worse than gout, and more frightening , are all its comorbidities.
