Mark Iacono’s Pizza Rules: ⬛️Composition ◾️Real pizza needs to have the finest ingredients. ◾️Dough. Sauce. Cheese. ▪️Pizza dough should be made from flour, water, salt, and yeast. Nothing else. ◾️Pizza should be round or square-no other shape. ⬛️Experience ◾️When you walk into a pizzeria, the aroma should punch you right in the face. ◾️Pizza should be baked in an oven. ▪️Pizza tastes best served right out of the oven. ◾️Pizza should look as good as it tastes. ◾️Pizza should be eaten with your hands, never a fork and knife. ◾️A city’s got flavor; you should be able to taste that when you eat there.
Savage Sage he has said that before and that’s why they were able to flashback to that instance in this episode, but it’s not one of his most core rules that he’s stricter on. I excluded it and other minor rules/comments for this list
Levi S. Not in this episode, but he has previously in the series. Since he has included salt before, I figured it’s better to include it than not in the list
Great video, as always! Also, the reason why it’s called “a’pizza” is because in the Napolitano dialect, “a’” means “the” in English or “la” in standard Italian. If you want to use the male version, in Napolitano dialect you say “u calendario”, which means “the calendar”. In this case, “u” means “the” in English and “il” in standard Italian. Thus, “apizza” is dialect for “the pizza”, and the dialect comes from Napoli e Salerno.
It’s truly great. But the white clam pie at the original Frank Pepe’s in New Haven has a slight edge over it. It’s been named #1 pizza in America for over 20 years running..
This is the first pizza joint Mark has really connected with. You just know in your soul that pizza is good. The crunch did it for me. Side note: Mark is a nice looking gentlemen!
i love these guys ,just having fun among two different guys ,and just allowing the viewer to get involved, with their " what else are they going to do next " !...
I'm from CT, and grew up eating at Pepe's with my grandfather (RIP). Last time I went I spent probably 200 bucks just to eat Pepe's pizza all week while I was visiting. I just wish I could bring it back to Chicago with me because the casserole here sucks :D
In this episode. All I can see is the truth no drama no script. Mark and scott enjoys the apizza and that's it. Love it by the way. More episode please.
Seeing Mark just devour this pizza made me smile and laugh and I half shed a tear. Everything about this show is just amazing -- the production value, the character development, the simplistic writing and approach of the show, the content and how purposefully it was chosen, the list goes on. So many shows don't feel authentic when you look at the interactions between the hosts and the businesses but here you don't feel that at all. Really Dough? doesn't even need its own Netflix show -- this is the peak pizza content I look forward to every week. The only downside to these episodes is that they are so short.
Dude--thank you for this video. I'm happy to see Mark out on the road with the guy who seems like he never leaves it all in the name of Pizza. Get 2 guys who probably don't get along otherwise and set em' on a journey. Great TV there. If you set them loose across America this has the makings of a great series. If you don't screw them over money or hotels this will be great tv.

I grew up in West Haven, I went to Saint Lawrence right across the street. We ate at Zup's every week sometimes twice a week. I moved away at 18 when I come back to visit it's for the food. Fortunately Zupardi's ships frozen pies.
I went to grammar school at St Lawrence's across the Street on Union Ave. I also took my first date there. This pizza place and the shoreline are the best things in West Haven. I recommend well done.
Craving more?? Check out Mark and Scott's last episode where they taste a pizza donut: ua-cam.com/video/XsmWvjoZrGQ/v-deo.html

When's the merch coming?!!
I'd love an Apron with "Flour, Water, Yeast, Nothing Else"
