When speaking about the 14th place Vader Blue deck I mistakenly referred to the copy of Restock as Confiscate. Restock is in the list to avoid getting decked out in control mirrors.

Hey, I'm the Vader Green player, as you said my deck was built to counter 2/3rds of the main meta in the Control Iden/Krennic and then the Boba decks which is why I went main board for those primarily with side board for the Aggro. Sabine showed up a lot more than I hoped for, and my 2 losses in swiss were both to Sabine players, my game vs Sabine Green much closer than my game against the Sabine/Yellow that made it to top 8. (Beat 3 Boba/2 Iden/1 Krennic) Ironically my loss in top 8 was to a Boba but he drew super hot which is hard to counter and I got absolutely 0 ramp in game 3. As you said Starvipers are a bit clunky without ECL (but theres not much better alternatives), and that 30 hp base made a difference in several games. I also find myself not using ECL very effectively in non aggro matchups. And while I had some amazing bombing run plays in playtesting, in the tournament I never really had a good chance to use it, it only went off once where I killed an A-Wing and a Red Three with it. But mostly by the time I got to it the Sabines were dropping nothing but K2's and Dodonna who are 4 hp targets. Also made my traitorous feel really bad in the Sabine matchups, no one ever wing leadered a unit for me to steal and only dropped 4 drops or higher by the time I was at 5 resources.
I think it's a valid strategy to target your expected meta game and it definitely paid off! I agree on traitorous and bombing run, I haven't felt they do enough vs aggro. Thanks for giving a little write up, looking forward to seeing more innovation!

I watched this event on stream. One thing people aren't taking into account was play experience. There were so many mistakes made on stream. Aside from Gui and the Luke player, there wasn't much strong piloting to be seen. Even in the finals, the Boba player could have won the first game, but for some reason decided not to deploy Boba on 5, when he had 3 other units on the field and an open enemy base. The Sabine Cunning player made mistake after mistake. The general feeling was the the majority of the field were not well prepared.
Play experience can definitely skew some results. This is just another data point that we can use.

The I am your fathers I THINK are mostly used for that card draw. In these blue red hyper control lists, you go 1 for 1 almost the entire early and mid game, so just refilling the grip can be so vital to find what you need to stabilize, or just out value other control decks.

What's your take on superlaser blast in Palpatine? I've had lots of success with your list but would be open to iterate. I tried this new list and cutting Piett makes it so triggering sentinel on guard is harder as well.
I haven't found it to be super necessary for the Palp deck, but having them does give you new angles, especially in control mirrors. I also think it's a consideration when playing with open deck lists, as having it in the deck means your opponent will have to consider it all game.

I played against that Vader Blue deck yesterday in a tournament. I played Krennic Green. How do I counter the Vader Blue?
Something im trying to figure out. Iden and Krennic green both have issues with these bigger control decks like Palpatine and Vader. Possibly being on the anti-mill plan as well can help. Definitely uphill battle and I'll be testing more options!
Hey I’m the red Han player, I know it seems a bit weird but I was expecting a lot of control/iden so I built the deck to be aggroesk with a hand destruction aspect. I played 4 bobas, 3 idens and 1 Sabine. Every iden I went against seemed so upset at end of game, they literally had no end game because they had no hand. It worked just how I thought it would, I beat iden and I would guess any controll player, wish I would have went against more control decks to be honest. Honestly, I only played the 1 Sabine, but that was my hard match I drew really bad against him, but it probably is just to fast for Han, when it hits and it hit. Any mid range or control I felt pretty good against.

After playing a lot of bobba at various locals and winning most of the time, I'm finding it very hard to justify Reinforcement Walker against control and have been focusing more on going aggro against control. What's your opinion on bobba trying to go slower against control? Isn't it just doing what control wants?
I think against the smaller control decks like iden and krennic green, the grind out side board stuff actually can tax their removal pretty well. Most games end up going longer regardless. Against the blue red decks I agree that you can't really play that strategy.
FYI you kept saying Confiscate when it was Restock which is pretty typical card to include if you run Vigilance and are expecting long control matchup.

Pretty much everyone in the know says Sabine is faster than Leia, but why? I’d think leia was faster with her action cheating, but apparantly not 🤷🏼♂️ is it Sabines ability? Or that she comes in a turn earlier?
It's two things in my estimation. Sabine coming out early, and Energy Conversion Lab. The base ambush is such a huge board flip for Sabine and usually pushes tons of damage. And having your leader out earlier for steadfast is a big deal.
Yeah like Woo said, coming out a turn earlier is huge. It’s (almost) impossible for a Leia player to win a straight base race against Sabine when she’s coming out an entire turn earlier + has ECL + Ambush. That’s a lot of extra damage that Leia doesn’t have.
