Hi Nikki! Just getting around to watching this video and I have a quick question for you -- Just as you mentioned that taking the guns away from people would not stop children being murdered, rather, it would only push people into a different means of murdering children... couldn't the same be said regarding abortion? Making abortions illegal is not going to simply end abortion once and for all.....it would only end medical abortions. People can and will find other, far more dangerous and horrific ways to terminate their pregnancy and it could end in not one life lost, but two. so why not just leave the decision up to them? food for thought.

Hi Nikki, I understand your argument about "it's the gun, not the person." But my question with this argument is always: So, then what do we do? How can we put laws in place that will help people to become more mentally stable and more moral? We all want less school shootings and less gun violence in general. How do we put laws into place as a society to decrease gun violence - and quickly? Personally, I haven't seen a convincing solution from the conservative camp yet, and I'm not comfortable with the argument that "people will always find a way to be violent." I believe that humans are capable of creative solutions, and Christians should be leading the way to protect life! Curious about your thoughts.

I think a lot of it comes down to culture (ex: music involving gun violence, violent video games/movies, gangs, etc).

It’s uncomfortable to acknowledge that utopia cannot exist and there will always be bad people who do bad things, there will always be risk in life, etc. but ultimately we cannot justify taking away somebody’s rights purely based on fear of those situations occurring. The consequences of doing so are far worse. Furthermore, the root cause of poor mental health is not going to be resolved by taking away somebody’s rights. We as a society are sick. It’s time for people to start having family values again. I recommend you read How to Make a Monster by Paul Glasco.

Our UA-cam feeds must be identical haha I love watching Mormon stories especially! Every time you mention random UA-cam channels it blows my mind because I thought my interests were so random and varied (seriously watch things from every viewpoint / political end / such a mish mash of topics) that I thought I was the only one that could be watching this array. Then I hear you mention them! So funny.

I know you said you’re interested in learning to can, and girl it is NOT hard! All you need is the equipment and to follow the directions! Easy peezy!!
However, I would also encourage you to try fermenting your harvest from the garden. Canning is great but it takes away a lot of the bioavailability of the nutrients when they get cooked like that, so fermenting is a great second option and adds great flavor and lasts 6 months in the fridge or in a root cellar.
Just a thought 😊😊 however, I personally do a balance of pressure canning AND fermenting!

@@olivec.6108 when did I say they weren’t as valuable??
I never said that. I said they weren’t the same. Christianity doesn’t say Animals are less valuable. It says we are made in Gods image. Not that we look like God but that our spirit is the same as God’s.
We are both animals in a sense..but there is evidence (not just from a Christian standpoint) that we are not simply “animals”.
The problem today is that people get so bend out of shape if someone doesn’t have the same opinion as them.

Nikki, regarding faith, I'm pretty sure I know what you mean and how you are feeling. In Christianity there are so many different ways to interpret things in the Bible and very educated people disagree on so many things. BUT! Are they things that really matter in the grand scheme of things? Are they important to salvation? (most of the time that answer is no) Honestly I think the most important thing as a Christian (when thinking about what is "important" to believe) is the Apostles' Creed. That's the meat of what we believe (pretty much regardless of denomination). Other than that, are you being an obedient disciple? Are you loving God and your neighbor? Are you following Jesus with your heart, actions, life? These are the things that matter.

The first question- I grew up baptist and I find myself questioning a lot of their what I like to call side- beliefs. I recently came across someone calling themselves a Christian agnostic and while I don't think that has a definitive definition that is what I have decided I am. I believe in God and that Jesus was who and what he said he was but outside of that I believe alot has been influenced by humans and thus, corrupted.

I am watching on my tv, and I am only one question in and had to get to my computer to comment! I love that you are talking about theology and the idea that you don't know how exactly you view everything yet. I am in a class right now, and one of the books we read was Cosmos Reborn, and we were talking about this exact thing! Too many people think they must decide what they believe about all these things to be a Christian. Not true! The only thing that makes you a Christian is believing the Gospel. So simple! I was taught that I needed to understand everything in the Bible and have an opinion on it. One question..why? What difference does it make to what I think is true? Regardless of how I think the world will end doesn't change what God will do. Why does it matter that I know ahead of time? What difference does it make? We get so caught up in the details that we lose the most important thing, which (to me) is knowing God for who He is and having a personal relationship with Him. Knowing God's love for me and everyone else. Feeling and knowing His love is far more important than opinions and viewpoints. We can enjoy reading about theology but theology isn't what saved us and isn't who loves us.

I like that you acknowledge that there are many biblical interpretations. Even the same denominations of Christianity (all 44,000+ of them), have some variation. However I find it strange that instead of questioning the faith itself because of these variations, you try to figure out which of these millions of truths suit you. I would think a god who wanted people to be saved would make his word easy and clear to follow. Not so difficult that there are more than 44,000 interpretations to choose from.
