I like this idea Kayla
Check out Dave Ramsey podcast show girl! Makes you not feel alone and they have a step by step program to help you! 😊❤
facts. 1st person i thought of was Dave 😂
Yes girl! Love it!
Here for it! Would love more vlogs in the series.
I had this realization last year! I racked up $30K of credit card debt in my twenties. I started opening up to my therapist, started budgeting, binged watched Caleb Hammer videos and girl - I’m at $10K now, haven’t used that card in over a year. You got this! Love this content. You’re right that consistency is the key.
Love Caleb! He helped me get it together!
More content creators should open up about this. The amount of content we see urging us to spend, but the reality is most of us are in this situation. More relatable content is what’s needed
I think this is what your audience wants! We want someone to be real about what it's like to be an influencer - what it's meant for your lifestyle, finances, and mental health. Especially our OG girls! This content has me running back to your channel for the first time in years, and I know others feel the same. No one is really doing this content yet, and you could be one of the most credible voices for it.
this message is very important. Let’s normalize more content of using what we have at home, no more shopping or hauls or “errands” for an excuse to spend money. I’m excited to see this journey for you as I’m on it for me.
Living with no debt is amazing. It changed my life only having to pay the basic bills. Being able to keep majority of your paycheck is life changing ❤
This content is NOT boring.
You've got more views on this video in only 7 hrs (at the time of my post), than other videos that have been up for a month.
I'm already debt free but, I'm still interested in your journey.
Keep it up, girl!!! 🎉💃🏾👍🏽
Girl that's the content we DO wanna see. Overall imma just give you my PR answer. Your content is not boring but your content is tooooo curated to what you think we want to see when what we really wanna see if you. Raw. Uncut you. (Not saying you haven't been doing that but it appears or comes off as you filter and edit a lot). I am truly shocked you are in that much debt and I've been watching you for years I thought you were "perfect" (aesthetically not literally) based on the content I watch from you. Meaning that there is sooo much I do not know about you as a person experiencing the world. Do I know your daily routines workout routines etc yup but do I know fully how your routines, experiences and emotions are not only affecting you but how you process the world not really not fully or not enough. Hope this makes sense but overall more raw and uncut moments like this from you will take this channel further (I'm shocked you don't have more subscribers you've been consistent for yearsssss). I clicked on this video due to the shock of your title because again I would never expect that from you because you appear "perfectly" curated which maybe for some can come off as lack luster. You're a star and 2024 is gonna be your year 🧡🧡
I’ve been in a season of using what I already have at home. I found myself buying the viral things and not using them. So now, I’m using up all of my lotions, body butters etc before I buy anymore.
I’ve also sold some bags to fashionphile because I haven’t worn them in years
I was just like you before my fiancé started getting into my finances. I paid off my car and about 8k In a year now I’m debt free. You can do it 🎉 and now I pay my credit card off in full every month!!
The transparency that you allowed to shine through was extremely relatable. I appreciate this content.
I’ve paid 20K in 2 years, 5K remaining. Let’s do it!
That’s amazing
When the money goes, when the friends go, when the success markers go, Jesus still remains. Don’t forget that my sister.
that's literally the dumbest thing I've heard
To some it will be. You happen to be apart of the some, but remember, your opinion as one minute blip on the earth's surface will never outweigh the eternal vastness and infinite wisdom of God. Hopefully one day you can humble yourself and come to realize that humans did not get here on their own and they will most definitely be accountable to the creator and the LORD Jesus once they leave. God bless. @@sammysosadchoom
jayjayeffron9249…..your words are TRUTH! 🙏
This is the UA-cam content I miss! Real people doing real shit and being honest about life. Love you friend😍😍 keep your eye on the prize
I subbed because of this ... ppl lie so bad like their life is perfect thank you for being transparent because you aren't alone
I'm 27 and in the same boat with finances! We've got this in 2024. I'm also learning how to give myself grace when it comes to finances because a lot of us weren't taught properly how to manage them. I also got diagnosed with ocd that presents like adhd and I've learned A LOT about how mental health can impact finances too. I really admire you for opening up about this!!
Theres a series on tiktok ‚30 and broke‘ and she motivates so hard by the way she pays off her debt 💗
Would love to see you get a financial audit from Caleb Hammer . He would defo help teach you how to budget and help make a plan to pay off debt
He’s become progressively more aggressive and misogynistic in how he speaks to and portrays the women (I.e thumbnails) he has on his channel. There’s a video on this if you look it up but I forget by who. Personally I agree he talk to them rudely and will have nasty titles towards women
@@Vivicci.x but his concept is tough love? personally i am always thoroughly entertained and learn things along the way. i think some of the guests had no business getting on the show..starting to think they may be signing up before watching the show. regardless, i love the show :) and if someone actually needs financial help and is willing to adjust their mindsets then they should go for it.
A budget can be used to tell you how to spend every dollar of your paycheck. That includes savings, expenses, spending, debt etc.
Glad that works for you!!
Y’all can do it! I was $38k in debt in 2019 and this year I’ll have it all paid off, about $1500 left, I’ve been doing it super slow and slacking a bit honestly, but the most important thing for me has been to not accrue more debt along the way. I did rack up my credit cards a little bit back up along the way but over all have not pulled any new loans, car loans etc. I did consolidate some of my higher payment credit cards but then closed the accounts, that was the key too. Goodluck all!
Proud of you 👏🏽
@@kaylalashaevlogsthank you! Proud of you to, you got this! 🙌
Proud of you for starting the baby steps toward financial stability. I recommend tracking everything that you spend, EVERY DAY. This has been life changing for me and literally takes 5 minutes at the end of the night. I log onto my bank, see what’s posted on my card that day (subscriptions, recurring payments, or whatever I spent that day) and throw it in a free Google budget tracker sheet. I now spend less than half of what I did before
I recently learned that paying double than 1 payment helps with your monthly credit interest. I was always wondering why my interest is high even though my debt kept going low. Thanks for sharing some jams with the world!
What do you mean? What does paying double than 1 payment mean?
@@bd1043 sorry, I directly translated from my native language in my head. lol I mean that if you want to pay $500 towards a credit card with a balance: instead of paying the whole amount around your due date, pay more earlier in the month, and the rest of the amount later. It helps reduce your interest rate because the cycle for interest rates is different from credit card statement due date.
Good luck on your financial journey! I know It wasn’t easy to be so transparent with viewers. Practice makes perfect! Good luck to everyone on this path it will be worth it!
Thank you so much!!🫶🏽
There is absolutely nothing you can do be embarrassed about! One day at a time!!
i appreciate you the most! 😭
please don’t be depressed or ashamed. we’re ALL in debt. it’s the way of america as a capitalist society. it’s designed to keep us in debt and keep us ashamed of it. i am passionate about this topic and i know how it feels. i disagree about the budget thing. if you can’t budget, you will forever be fiscally irresponsible. budget + a spending plan is key. you should know where your money is going and it should be spent within your means.
acceptance and grace for yourself is key. and then you can really tackle the debt. you got this!!
@@lau77771hh you’re likely not in debt bc you have nothing of value or your poor or young.
most americans have college debt, car debt, home debt and credit card debt.
unless you’re rich, which you’re not i can tell, you will have debt at some point. it is normal
I have been watching you since I was pregnant … she’s 11 now 😂 the growth is real…love this for you,my husband and I bought a house and Bay bee..its so hard to save and buckle down and stick to a budget with this economy so every small step is a win.
Omg they grow up so fast 🥹
also, you keep mentioning interest rates. those typically don’t change month to month. you’re charged interest based on how much is *left* after you make your monthly payment. if your APR is 26%, it will be 26% of whatever the remaining balance is month to month. the faster you pay it off the less interest you will accrue. my advice: be aggressive and start paying it in FULL every month once you pay it down
1. Add all your expenses due dates to your calendar on your phone & set a reminder
2. Budget. Subtract your expenses with your pay so you see how much youre working with
3. Open a high yield savings account like Ally, has a higher interest rate and you get paid interest keeping your money in a HYSA. They usually start at like 4.35% rate & above
3. Live below your means & dont keep up the Jones
*also go through your subscriptions and cancel some that you dont really use that may be on an autopay
I’m 30 years old and I’m in the same boat as you ! This year I really want to focus on financial freedom! It’s so hard because I want stuff ( active wear lol ) but that all comes down to the discipline! It makes me feel better that I’m not the only one with a lot of debt !
abundance is here for us girl!
Don’t call yourself an idiot! Be kind to yourself! We have all been there, just nobody talks about it. You’d be shocked how many people are in CC debt. This is the hard part-acknowledging where you’ve gotten and that you want to be different. I had paid down all of my debt but my CC has gotten up a little again and I’m focused on paying that down. We can do this! 💪🏽
It’s definitely worth the time and effort to get out of debt. I followed Dave Ramsey baby steps and paid off all my debt. I live comfortably and am focused on saving for the future now.
a lot of you watch him and recommended his channel. im gonna watch!
@@kaylalashaevlogs a lot people think his method is outdated or impossible in this economy but really some of them just want an easier route
Consider getting a small lock box/safe for your house for your car title, loan info, passport, social security card etc. Get a sticky note and put balance on it and wrap in your credit card. Every time you use it, write the amt on sticky note. Consider if you really need it for every purchase. Call the credit card company and ask if they can reduce the interest rate. Transfer a small manageable amt to a zero interest card and pay that off before interest accrues while continuing to pay main card.
Not sure why this showed up in my algo but I'm glad you're taking steps to improve your life. Keep going!
Thank you! Will do!
never heard someone call UPS "ups" (opposite of down)
I have been subscribing to a lot of budget video channels. So this isn’t boring to me at all
Same tho 🤭
"Snowball" is paying off debt with lowest balance first. "Avalanche" is paying off loans with highest interest rate first.
I also find snowball a bit more satisfying seeing things knocked off..lol
You have no idea how seen i feel rn😭 I just got a $1k surprise bill from the dentist and spiraled for an hour. Glad to know I’m not the one going through it
I feel you girl sending you love 🫶🏽👼🏽🤎
I wanna cry when I’m 250 bucks in debt but girl 30k omg 😱
i went from ALWAYS paying off my credit cards every month to having like 10k in credit card debt in literally a few months. 😭😭
$250 is a bill, not being in debt
@@yagga8885 idc if it’s on my credit card it’s a debt 💸 🤣🤣🤣
Life style creep and consumerism has us all in a choke hold!
I needed this! thank you for your transparency, because I needed to get my priorities straight and tackle my debt as well! God willing, I will be debt-free in 2025 lets goo!
You got this!
It is True, a budget is not going to help you if you don't follow it. The trick is not making the budget, but building the discipline to follow it. Just like you do in other aspects of your life. And you need to check your checking account, preferably Daily, just to keep a handle on things.
Love these transparent videos because it can help alot of people! 😩 i feel u on the depression because if im in debt or my finances are out of control it shifts my mood on the daily. Its important to manage finances especially if you would like to have kids one day 😕 i can be thankful my debt is under $10k, but when operating off a small budget and slow cash flow it makes the goal seem impossible but we all gotta keep going no matter what! 💕
I’m on this same journey to debt free life.
Proud of you!
You motivated me to pay a huge chunk on my credit card! Thank you
Yay!!
I suggest watching Caleb Hammer here on UA-cam. I've learned so much and his content has lit a fire under my ass. I am however doing a no buy. I was spending so much money on gym clothes, regular clothes, shoes etc and I had stuff I didn't even wear. So for me that's the best but yes learning what an actual budget includes (includes spending limit on other categories i.e gas, groceries, etc) it has changed my mindset. Goodluck!
YASSS!! I LOVE CALEB HAMMER ❤❤😂
thank you for being so honest, its very comforting knowing that there are other ppl just like some of us that are struggling in that hamster wheel and being honest about it. let's work this year to shake off those shackles of CC debt! love your vids as always 💖 Thanks Kayla for staying yourself throughout the years on yt
Tons of people don't know that the proper way to use credit cards is to pay off the full balance each month. Any time you pay interest you've lost any value of points or rewards period! It's never to late to learn and grow but I promise you MOST people don't know what you learned.
I paid the minimum balance and the next day I paid $100 more just to lower my balance . They took $95 interest do you know why ? I paid more than the balance
This video was everything I needed to hear and honestly, I’m definitely here for the finance videos.
Another quote : it is better to actually BE wealthy than to look wealthy! (Got it from a smart girl on the MAKE IT ytb channel)
Girl your content is not boring at all, I find it super relaxing and relatable. Thanks for the motivation to become debt free this year!
I have a feeling that most influencers are in debt - were all trying to keep up and never feel like we have enough . Have you thought about going back to school or finding a job to help pay the debt ? UA-cam money is good but it won’t last forever.
UA-cam money does last forever for some people. Just not for Kayla
Maybe it isn't a about not lasting...it's more about that they use the money for anything Ratner than for all their financial debts
@@Pizzagirl99 it’s most . Name 5 UA-camrs who has been around for over 10 years and can afford their lifestyle 🤷🏽♀️ especially within the influencer beauty / lifestyle community .
I’d love to see more financial videos from you. I’ve been following you from you were in your studio apartment before you got the Jeep. You’ve inspired me so much over the years and even seeing you from skinny to now slim thick has been motivating . Even though I don’t have debt I don’t have savings so watching you along other financial videos I feel would be so helpful . Imma continue stick by you girl ❤️❤️❤️
You’ve got this girl! Happy to motivate! 💗
I’m in my 40’s and have racked up debt over the last 2 years just to survive due to job loss and then returning to work making less than 1/2 of what I’m used to, but I will say I was busy being influenced as well. So now I’m on a mission to get out of $18k worth of debt. 💸 This is relatable.
The key to your budget is discipline and knowing what you really need.
Which is not a car wash. That's a want not a need
Kayla I super appreciate this talk because seriously everyone is struggling financially in some way at this time with friggin inflation… don’t be too hard on yourself for not focusing on the finances the last two years.. you worked SO HARD, in all other aspects in your life the last two years. You can’t do everything at once! Things come in seasons ❤❤❤
Happy Saturday! Thank for letting us hang with you. Your authenticity is appreciated. Cheering towards your goal with you
38k ( 32k student loans and 8k credit card) on track to pay it off by next year or end of the year.
Discipline is not an “era” or something temporary. It’s a characteristic trait that is the difference between success and mediocrity.
Please make more videos like this, I’ve been subbed to you for years and I like seeing this more authentic side to you ( not that you’re not already authentic but just talking about real life ish, struggles etc or even girl talks if you’re comfortable with doing that) but yess to you for tackling your debt
Budgeting no, reconciling your spending daily or every other day yes. That’s the part people miss. They budget when they get paid and then never track or reconcile and wonder why they are not reaching their goals.
This.
@@kaylalashaevlogsgood luck on your journey girl we have all been there! I recently paid of 15k in credit card debt like made my last payment this month haha. You can do it!
So happy for you and your financial journey. Respect for being so vulnerable
Use your Jeep payment money as an extra payment on your credit card. You're used to having that money go out each month so continue using it to your benefit.❤
You can always do a balance transfer to a credit card with 0% interest and that will help pay it down. Or if you happen to need to getting a personal loan to consolidate it all. Yes there usually is interest but it’s already included but it helps you gain control.
There’s more: invite a girlfriend home on any given weekend day - make a cheap pasta dish, make yourself coffees, sit down and „clean“ your makeup stash and take inventory of your clothes.
Paying off debt and budgeting are super relevant and I feel like most people would be able to resonate with that kind of content. You've got this girl! I had $15k in debt and I've gotten it down to $7k so far. If you believe it and put in the work, you can achieve it. I believe in you 💜
You can call your credit card company and ask for lower interest rate! You may qualify for a a rate lower than the one you received when you first opened the card
Thanks for the tip!
STOP BORROWING, Budget your Money, Grind Harder , A lot of yall Dumbasses Trying to Look Rich , Instead of Grinding to get Rich , Yall walk pass Millionaires EVERYDAY, And don’t even know it , Because Yall judging how they Look 👀
Thankyou for being so vulnerable, I have been watching you ever since your Oner videos and I appreciate on how honest you are as it makes others feel seen. Something I do when saving/paying off debt is writing a tracker in a journal and writing down a realistic figure that I want to achieve each week then highlighting it and dating it as to when I achieved the figure. Also, maybe look into the 12 week year and breaking down your goals that way - especially when you're catering for the months you may save or spend more eg Christmas. You got this girlfriend!
I'm on a debt free journey too girl! This our year, we got this!
Yes!! I feel that for us!
Hi Kayla! I am a silent viewer for years now but I just wanna say thanks for opening up about this!! I’m in some serious debt similar to you and I have been so down about it for a long time. 😢 it’s so hard out here. Im happy with any content about it!
I feel there has been a shift on social media o we the past 2/3 years from spend spend downs to save save save and appreciation of what we have and I’m here for it ❤
I love this content. Thanks for your transparency.
This was good. It’s nice to hear that I’m not alone in this adulting life. I appreciate all tips.
This was sooooooo needed 🥹
I love this new direction you're taking! I hope to see more content like this 👏🏾
You are not an idiot!! The fact that you were educated on the topic of financial literacy and immediately changed your habits and have stuck to them is proof that you are very wise! These are things that should be taught to us from a young age, but most people are in the dark about how these financial systems work. Sadly the system kind of relies on people slipping up so that the banks can profit and keep people indebted to them. That's why payday loans exist.
Yes girl this!!! Real content real problems and real ways to live! Thanks for posting I know this topic takes vulnerability. ❤
I love this Kayla!! Thank you for your transparency it’s helping more than you know!! I would love to see this new financial content from you!! 💕💕
Thank you girl for this video. So relatable especially the feeling in winter to want to isolate and re-focus on goals ✨
New subscriber over here and I LOVE this content! It’s what we spent to see in 2024 as most people are over the excessive consumption, paycheck to paycheck mentality and living above your means content ❤ Good luck in your journey ❤
Loved this video, please do more. It was informative but also came at the right time. Trying to stay on top of debts is hard when you’re learning how to budget and be better with finances.
Girl who you tellin
Love the finance content! ❤ I think it’s really relatable for many of us right now. I’m also working on paying down debts and figuring out how to budget and save more.
You got this!
This is the most realistic you tube video I’ve seen in a long time! Dont be to hard on your self. A lot of ppl are 100’s of thousands dollars in debt. You paying off your car is a huge accomplishment.❤
Love this finace content, new to your channel, I needed to hear this 🙋♀️
This content spoke to me!!! Loved it babe! ❤ let’s pay off the debt yesss ❤
It’s so hard not to want the latest gymshark or gym attire in general, they come out with so much and they giving us FOMO! This is our year of financial freedom! 🎉
FOMO isn’t real. it’s a symptom of something else. therapy will help you
This video is taking off! You make me want to progress my path into financial freedom ✨
You’ve got this!
Would love to see more of this financial content. You got this!
silent viewer for many years ❤ love the gym/food content but i also love this & appreciate the transparency
I completely agree with this video and how raw it is. My school loans are my biggest block and I want them gone and so following someone who is also on their discipline and grinding it out, it’s absolutely motivating and I followed you so fast because you are kind and real and relatable ❤
You should watch Caleb Hammer videos! All about personal finance and they’re seriously life changing
Next time you make a big payment, call it in and make it towards the principal. That way, it all goes towards the amount owed and not the interest! Best of luck, Mama
Yes,when you make principle payments it lowers the amount that interest is being charged against.
I'm sorry you have to feel this way, I was so depressed about the debt I'm having right now and the job transitions. We are human, we have feelings and its barely be able to breath with these debts. Wish the best for you! Listening to financial podcast help me a lot, I listened to Mr. Dave Ramsey the one went bankrupt at 28 but he rebuilt everything! After getting some senses and self reflection, I paid off $5k within 2 months with low income. We got this! Everyone will be ok!
Wow that is amazing!!! Good for you!!
This video is amazing!-transparent and relatable!! You’re awesome girl ❤ 👏🏻 ✨ things will only get better and better from here!
Also every night, transfer money from your checking (either round up cents to the next dollar, or if you’re better off round up to the next 5 dollars every other day). That’s 15 to 30 dollars extra payments every month or even more.
For fun drinks gather all your tea bags (fruity ones work great) and hang them with cold water in a flask over night. You’ll have a zero calorie fun drink for the gym and you save yourself iced tea money at Starbucks.
Thanks for being real about this because I have a lot of debt too that has been over my head and it’s good to see I’m
Not alone
you're not! we can both get through this!
whatever season you are in, we are here for it babyyyy. thank you for being vulnerable 🤎

I really loved your vlog, it was much needed thank you
I'm so glad!🫶🏽
Girl, this vlog was perfect! Absolutely so relatable and you definitely got this! My hubby and I are working on our debt now too and budgets/spending plans have come in handy! You got this girl! 💜

@kayla, I'm here for this content. Thanks for being transparent about your situation.. I can relate to money and saving
