    Hi Lucy, I resonate with this so much.
    I suffered with bidy image at 55 kilos, it was really bad. Now I'm trying to lose weight as I went up to 115 kilos.
    I have spent 3 years at home because of putting on weight.
    Now I'm more active and going to the gym and walking.
    But I understand completely. Mirrors, windows were complete hell for me too.
    I believe that being overweight can often be because of mental health, snd I believe losing weight, begins with mental health, ie: therapy❤

      Thank you for sharing your story, and I'm sending you ALL the love! I agree with you that often the underlying cause of weight gain can be unnoticed and linked to mental health too. I know that was certainly the case for me on reflection as well as not knowing any different as I had been overweight my whole life. Therapy is so beneficial and I am so happy you agree! You got this xxx

      @lucylismore I have no body image issue. I always take my shirt off when I workout. Anyone who has a problem with it, gets the finger and my tongue out.

    Thank you Lucy! I notice that in addition to body image issues, I also obsess about other failings and character flaws, attacking myself indiscriminately for hurting other people, being bad at something, being late, saying the “wrong thing”, and not living up to my potential etc. the main common thread I notice is my minds ability/ habit to exaggerate… and it’s so painful! Thanks again for sharing your own experience and tips 🙏❤️

    I know I’m in that honeymoon phase of weight loss. I had atypical anorexia for a decade, and improper treatment led me to 210lbs. I’ve been losing weight in a sane and normal way for a year, and have lost 30lbs. I know I’m just riding the long term high of being able to lose weight and alleviate the hate I had for my fat body without killing myself. I’m scared that when I reach my goal, it’ll never be enough. I’ve changed my behaviors to ones that aren’t self destructive but I haven’t changed my mind. I’m scared that once I’m slim again, the need to become *thin* will take over again. I’m not sure how to cushion myself but I don’t ever want to be at the size I was at again. I’m scared that I’ll allow that fear to ruin my life again.

    Thanks for this video, it Comes at the rights Time for me and i think for a lot of persons, with social media i feel we are being bombarded with perfection ( or overperfection), perfect faces , perfect hair perfect bodies, shredded abs, that no matter what we do , sometimes its feel like nothing is Never enough , and its a very Bad way to live life

      Oh gosh, I totally agree! It's a minefield out there and a lot of the time we don't even notice it! Ultimately we ARE good enough and we should never compare ourselves. Easy to say but hard to do though! x

    A suggestion for comparison. If you follow social media accounts (or anything else) that have you comparing ANYTHING in a NON constructive way, UNfollow them or delete them. If you think your life is boring because of other people sharing their highlights, if you think you're shit at your creative outlet because you compare your work to others, if you have negative self image trouble because of all the "perfect" or "hot" people you follow please unfollow or delete them. Only follow accounts the motivate or inspire you. We can't control advertising and such but you can control your social media and what kinds or magazine etc you read. Thankyou Lucy for how honest and inspiring you are.

    • @lucylismore
      @lucylismore  10 місяців тому +2

      I COMPLETELY agree! I say this so much because you don't truly notice the impact until you actually unfollow, unsubscribe and remove your exposure to it! I only follow accounts of people I have actually met in real life/friends and family/people I get genuine value from and doing that was huge for me! I also say that sometimes it can be people that you enjoy looking at their content but they can still have a negative impact by creating comparison etc so it's good to look at these people too. I would encourage people to unfollow me if they ever left any of my content feeling any level of comparison/self doubt!!! It's not about choosing who can sit at your table but more so who you are exposing yourself too on a regular basis. Finally, curating your SM feed can be a great tool. I only ever spend time watching content of stuff I want to be recommended (baking, nail art, hiking, climbing and animals atm 😂). This way I keep getting recommended it more and more. Whoah that was a long reply, sorry but thank you for mentioning it, I think it is a VERY important point, now more than ever! ❤

    Thanks Lucy❤ for sharing your journey and talking about such an important topic, about getting help from a Therapist. This is going to become more normally but it still isn't(in my opinion and experience). I'm going to be a child therapist and during my educationsI have to go to a therapist like self-experience ,and that's so important. My very close friends are sometimes also confused because they think I am "normal" and I don't need a therapist 😂 so that's why I think more people should take advantage of beeing helped by a therapist, when necessary. Thankful Agi.😊

      I love this! I think there are lots of misconceptions about therapy. That you need to have 'problems' to go to therapy or that it will just be someone telling you what to do but instead it gives you so many tools, a sounding board, an outlet and a perspective. Honestly life changing and you are going to change lives too! xx

    Thank you so much for this image. Thanks to your channel im getting into calisthenics after not being able to workout for months and really enjoying it. But one thing that does worry me is that i know i have a negative body image and i know that achieving my "dream body" won't change this mindset so i kinda dawdle and feel like i shouldnt even workout in the first place

    Hey Lucy....
    Can you make a full workout plan for people who want to learn calisthenics and lose weight. Like a full beginner level program starting from scratch on how to do everything and every step just in detail and then also in the last video of that playlist/program you can tell about how we can move a step forward to intermediate level when we need to
    Pls pls plssss can you do it. This would be such an help for a lotttt of people like me who want to start calisthenics and lose weight and gain those muscles and have that snatched waist but don't know where to start from
    You have always been the one I look up to whenever it comes to calisthenics and i trust you a lot
    Keep working hard and stay healthy and smiling ☺💗💗

    this is your first sponsored content? (if so, congrats!)
    i was 32kg bigger than i am now. and i never took therapy... never thought of that. and i think i should ... i have eczema and now i'm wondering, how it all might be connected (i hate mirrors bhw)

    • @lucylismore
      @lucylismore  10 місяців тому

      It's the second sponsorship I have ever taken since I've had my channel. It's not something I take lightly, hence why you never see it. I only ever want to leave a positive impact with my content and if this gives one person the strength to get help that could change their life it's something I have to do ❤. I honestly never thought of therapy at the time either and it was only after the following decline in my mental health after that, that I realised I was far more affected mentally than I ever realised. I hope it helps if you do try but sending you ALL the love and congrats on everything you've achieved so far! ❤
