The Jedi were known for people to talk to, if parents noticed something very special with their kids. These kids were ofthen seen as abominations or bad omens by many cultures, because it is a very RARE phaenomenon. The Jedi were able to examine the kids and test them for their connection with the force. They offered to take them if they showed potential to be a jedi, and this was mostly seen by the parents as the best possible future for their kids and a great honor. Because the Jedi were known to be very pure and good and always protected the weak in the galaxy.
A thousand years of peace... Star Wars is supposed to be a fairy tail after all.

The worst part so far as I can tell from the clips ( I won't give Disney a penny ) is that the continuity "expert" had the make up artist leave off the brand on Mae's forehead I assume intentionally so that the audience doesn't pick up on that. The Jedi did nothing wrong outside of lying to the council. The witches acted aggressively first and repeatedly acted aggressively throughout the episode. Sol killed the mother witch in response to her turning into a dark evil cloud.

We went through the whole episode of Sol explaining to Mae what "really" happened (even though she was there and saw everything but never mind about that) and we didn't even get to see her reaction at the end. Crazy.
Given that the show has firmly established that it takes about 20 minutes to get to Coruscant from anywhere in the galaxy, even the outer rim, I want to know how Torbin was so desperate to go home but incapable of it to begin with. Most people have longer commutes to work; there's no reason for them to even spend the night sleeping on the planet.

The worst line of the series so far was in the previous episode: "Her strength in the force is very powerful". English is only my third language. And even I realize how wank that was.

It's trying so hard to be Game of Thrones with over the top reveals, twists and plot mechanics that are never executed correctly or ever earned.

I totally expect many of these weak story lines to not have any real closure after the final episode. The Producers probably think they're so clever that they'll get a 2nd season to carry these nonsensical story lines forward. They really don't think their crap stinks and the critics are wrong.
I honestly believe they're trying to launch their new perspective of the Star Wars universe with this show. I think they had other big plans hinging on this thing.

I’m pretty much 100% convinced that Disney Star Wars is just a way to launder money at this point. There is no other explanation for how so much money can keep being lost on projects yet more of the same projects get green lit.
Seeing as how women are in charge of this particular project, I'm sure the money disappeared in fancy restaurants and shopping trips to the Beverly Hills mall.

One of the things that confuses me is how did the Jedi know that Mae started a fire? Nobody other than Mae and Osha would’ve known that. Mae didn’t get to tell anybody because her first appearance afterwards is when the mother gets stabbed, but when Osha wakes up on the ship afterwards, Sole (Idk how any of these names are spelled) tells immediately tells her that Mae started it. So did they just guess correctly that that’s what happened? Definitely just one of many nonsensical holes and convenient occurrences in this awful story.

Lezzie Headcase herself revealed that story elements of season would carry over into a second season. I've heard as many as four unfinished story arcs will be left. That seemed to be her foot in the door to continue her position as show runner for at least one more year and lead to several more projects to press forward her and KK's female force/LGBTQ+ agenda farther into the future. I don't see that happening now, despite her assurances otherwise.

This series couldn't handle the "same story from two different points of view" plot device for ONE EPISODE! If you remember, Arrested Development did this for an entire season, and made it entertaining as hell!

There's actually many layers of the acolyte story, especially in the flashbacks, that have potential for interesting character exploration, but in order to do so they'd have to 1. Communicate the message they intend to tell better, and 2. Explore the story with a different frame of mind.
With the parallel with Anakin and twins, I still think we are going to get the " I am you mother moment". Worse case scenario which I can see them doing and would have to buy a new monitor afterwards, qimir is going to say that.

6:42 My theory is that the writers got confused with who Sol was talking to at the end of Ep 6. He was talking to Mae, but he needed to be talking to Osha. Mae had seen it, and Sol thought she was dead anyway - making his 'I have thought about this for 6 years' out of synch with what he knows. Osha wasn't there to see it and she would be the one most affected by knowing that Sol killed her mother. He had also promised Osha that he would tell the truth eventually. ... The only people who fell for the old 'Identity Switch' trope were the ***king writers.
I can't remember which channel it was on, but two guys where reviewing episode 7, and one of them commented on how weird and creepy Sol's obsession with making Osha his padawan was and joked about "Sol driving away in his van full of candy." That cracked me up. Maybe it's not really that funny, but I had a stroke a month and a half ago, and besides paralyzing the right side of my body, it lessened my emotional control so I laugh or cry about things much more readily than I normally would.
Disney: Let's hire people who dont make movies/shows, and also hate starwars, to make starwars shows for an audience that doesnt care about Starwars.

I like how the Lucasfilm had to be thinking and dreading, "Wow, they're making fun of the third episode...they're REALLY going to clown us when the 7th comes out. Eughh.."
It's like when the teacher starts covering the answers after the Trigonometry test and you suddenly realize you worked all the problems the wrong way.
When Trinity cuts the connection between Wookie and the Hendersons, it causes a backlash. I still can't tell if they're dead or just knocked out. Darth Mom escapes unscathed and she was the nexus of their power sharing. Either way the coven's dead, but why not do something to make clear the status of the witches like have one of the Jedi go over and confirm they are unconscious or dead. No one seemed to give a crap that twenty people collapsed inside a burning building. Just left them and took the one kid Sol could save because he didn't think to lift the girls and not the bridge parts. I don't even watch this show, only the reviews because they're more entertaining.

This show seems to be written by chat GPT programmed on an old Commodore 64...
I think this episode being mostly flash backs is a result of the rumored 1000 reshoots they supposedly did. Just recut and splice together a "flash back" episode "from the jedi perspective" using old, existing footage, even though it wasn't originally designed to be shown that way.

The more I hear about the Acolyte and the more I play with ChatGPT, the more I am convinced AI wrote this.
It definitely forgets its own plots, mixes characters up, and has no sense of pacing.
These episode 7 scenes were probably some of the first shot with the Sol character, where the actor Lee Jung-jae's accent was at it's strongest and why his English sounds clearer in some of the earlier episodes.
