fun fact: flares on planes date back to ww1, and chaff dates back to ww2, way before IR or SARH missiles existed (obv back then they served different uses)

The MAW system is very topical for me at least. Yesterday was when I first read about the Monica / AL-13 tail warning radar system used by late war British bombers and US prop fighters like the P-51-d and -K. It is basically a gunsight radar aimed backwards, designed to give an audible tone if and when an aircraft was detected close behind the aircraft. There was a concern that the Germans might be able to home on the signal, the designers discounted this but after the war discovered that this is exactly what they had been doing !
TL;DR - More gunsight radars, Oboe, G and Monica / Al-13 for WWII aircraft !

There is a bug report open - the outer pylons ARE jettisonable. We'll see if the snail actually patches (bet)

Note regarding the wing sweep on the F-111, IRL the pylons on the outer wings (station 1,2,10,11) could be jettisoned, also mounting something bulky like a MER on the inward most pylons (5, 8) reduces your max back sweep by a few degrees, so if you want max sweep for max speed only use stations 4 & 9.
On the other hand, the F-111 autodumping flares is awesome looking

Biggest thing that bums me out about the F-111A is no automated ground following autopilot, a huge feature of the plane IRL and no DIPCM, which is also a huge part of the 111

That's because ground radar isn't in the game on any jet yet. All of the american ground attackers like the A-7s or the A-4s have a radar in the nose but it doesn't do anything right now because those were ground radars and so we don't get them yet.
I have been patiently waiting for gaijin to finaly add ground radar to aircraft but they have been sleeping on it forever which is realy frustrating.
The A-10C also has a MAW System IRL.
Gaijin is doing really good rn. I love what they're doing.

How do ppl not Know that it can be changed? it has an option in the spawn screen it starts at default at 0.10sec to a max of 1.0sec.
That is for periodic countermeasures, not countermeasure MAW slaving. They are seperate.

If there's one thing this video told me it's that I need to start bringing dumb rockets when there are f111s on my team
This system is painfully strong I got out sped by an f111 in my j35xs and it managed to flare every one of my aim9js at 0.8km rear aspect without coming off ab once I suspected it wasn't even the player flaring(skill issue somewhat but shows how strong it is if an f111 just chooses to run, you'll need a kfir to catch it)
Next time bring unguided rockets and use those to trigger the flares

Yes it is, especially for the F-4J of the era we have. Someone showed me the manuals. The F-4S should have an ALR-50 but from what i can tell its pretty much different in name only.
So when is the Harrier Gr7 getting its MAW?
It's anyone's guess, I think it's weird the devs said it would get it eventually but then they add it to the F111 first...

Which other jets in game can get the missile approach warning system?
Mirage 2000D for sure, Mirage 2000-5 and Mirage 2000C were compatible so they should get it as well, Harrier GR7 for sure as well, and then the ones im not 100% sure about are AV8B, F16C, Su-25T/Su-39, and MiG-29SMT, I havent looked into those. Someone who is a knower could probably give you a more accurate list.

Not only will I have less flares but I'll also have to actually pay attention while others can just tunnel vision and let the game do it for them.
