I am a support main. First class I got to 10. I almost always play it because it's almost always open. I generally play as the ammo carrier too. I only play on east coast American servers though but if you see me in a lobby I talk and know how to play the role fairly well.
Your Setup seems legit, normally when i SL i dont want to force anyone to pick a role. In the end its also about having fun right. But Support,AT/MG is a must have in almost all situations🤔 The "Hey what role do you need?" dudes who join the squad are a blessing for every SL🤓
Sarchels are awesome. I played a game where my squad threw smoke and provided covering fire five times while my satchel engineer ran deeper an deeper into a point setting up satchels with a support player. We took down every garry and OP and the point in at matter of 6-7 minutes. My satchel kill count was crazy high, but it was just sheer, almost harassing fun 😂
Best setup is 2 three man squads with all 6 in white chat. SL, support, and whatever is immediately necessary in the moment. That also means the "6" man squad gets 2 OPs to coordinate off of and get a garry down without support switch. I also just realized that the SLs could place their OPs in such a way that the spawn time is staggered to get people in every 10 seconds instead of 20.
Gean Assault, STG and Sstchel is awesome for attacking, especially in Offensive mode 🤘 In fact having at least one squad member able to satchel up is a must, hell 3 members with satchels is even better 👍
Crazy that Germany can have a satchel on the Engineer, AT and Assault and they are all incredibly combat effective with their primary arm too. It would be very funny if someone builds up defences heavily and one squad just deletes it all at once with triple satchel 😅
@@skartimus pretty sure all Factions can have an Assault, AT and Engineer. Although for the Yanks the Engineer gets stuck with the shotty if you run with the satchel 🤦♂️
As someone playing SL quite alot I prefer the Supplier to never be taken by default (Apart from the very start of each round that is). Whenever I need supplies I tell the lads to pick the role and straight up redeploy so that they won't block the roles main purpose with their cooldowns (Supps and Boxes alike). It also frees them up to take on more combat fit roles like German Auto/Assault. I'm also torn on having an AT at all times. Sure, ur quick to react - especially if ur squad stays close - but u once again take away from the flexibility. It's one of these scenarios that depends on the situation at hand, but having someone spawn in right on the tank opr it's rear (If ur OP is any good ofc) with a satchel charge can be crucial in taking out that tank effectively. Other than that I'd say MG is paramount as well as having at least one satchel at any given time (Clear buildings, opposite sides of a wall, garrisons + their respective spawnwaves and the occasional tank ofc). Ultimately, on public I dont ask for this much anyway - It's just nice to have a somewhat talkative and competent squad.
Germany feels pretty OP with some of the class loadouts. I'd actually go Automatic Rifleman a lot of the time because the FG42 is an animal. So is the STG to be totally fair, but the FG42 just does things it can't because of that fire rate, and the hip fire accuracy being similar to the BAR doesn't hurt. The level 9 assault is also pretty nuts for obvious reasons. The level 6 rifleman gets an G43 and a casual heavy ammo box. The MP40 is basically a sniper rifle so the Engi with Satchel is basically a full fat second AT. I do greatly prefer the US standard AT due to the open bazooka sights allowing for easier long shots and you know... The Garand. The Shotgun is a mercy for the engineer too, the Grease gun can fuck right off. Largely speaking the Brits and Ruskis feel pretty phoned in compared to the US and Germany. Russia has a lack of variety, no automatic rifle and the Mosin sights feel pretty cooked. It's one faction where I'm mega willing to go the support because the SVT slaps. Britain is pretty much an abomination due to the sights. If you are a fairly aggressive player and rely on rapid target acquisition, good luck.
@@McBluffinGaming It is worth learning, I think the way to explain it is something like a hybrid BAR and Thompson rather than the STG. It has that kick of the BAR so you want to use burst for medium distance and above, but it has the fire rate like the Thompson so if you are lucky enough stumble into CQC with multiple enemies it will just delete them all with the fire rate and one hit kill. It's crazy powerful in certain situations and just good in others.
Hi, i just wanted to say that ive been thinking about buying hll because i really love ww2 shooters and your videos really make me wanna buy it even more!
I swear by the fact that at level 12 machine gunner needs a heavy gun mounted to a tripod or wheeled (like the soviet pm m1 1910) chasis with a long belt and minimal recoil. It'd operate similarly to the AT emplacement in the antitank role
New to the game. I’ve been playing medic non-stop for a week with my buddy. It sucks. I tried Machine Gunner last week as Britain. I couldn’t see ANYTHING. The Lewis broke me. Britain broke me. But tonight I tested out the Machine Gunner as Germany and HOLY- the power fantasy is real! Since we’re only 2 players premade, he can take up the spotter job and it’s just a great feeling to peek above the wall mounted and just lay waste to an enemy force. Can’t wait to unlock the MG42.
Spot on... my squad setup when im SL is just AT engineer and support but the other guys idc what they go however they usually just go mg and medic but I think ill make it mandatory😂😂
My love right now is the level 6 German assault grenadier class. You get that g43, 6 frags, and 3 smokes. You can absolutely wreck with that class in any situation. I switch to that when it’s business time.
Medic tbh should have a rifle as you basic give up a rifle for two smokes which can be gained from an assault player running the grenadier load out at level 6. Also really depends on the map as maps such as foy support will want a rifle rather then an smg due to how open it is for example.
Assault squad to me as an SL is Assault, level 5 atleast cause it opens grenadier that has grenades and smokes to no end, Automatic rifle, At with bazooka or chatcell, Support, medic, level 5 rifleman or an engineer. Almost same as a defence but AT should build the gun and medic is useles so MG before medic.
SL, Assault, AT, Support,Engineer,MG literally the definition of a squad setup that dishes out hate lmao you have the potential of 2 satchels (extra 2 with resupply), 2 rockets (extra 2 with resupply), you have MG to dish out more hate and you have the most explosives possible, or you can switch out assault (from satchel to grenadier) for extra grenades AND smokes
Support swaps are an absolute must….Really depends on game mode and weather our squad is attacking or defending as far as what I like to have for load outs.
7:19 assault, not automatic rifleman. I think the best composition varies by faction and it's always situational. Getting your squad to cycle support role has probably the biggest impact. Medic is not worth it. We all have those anecdotes of critical revives, but they are so rare, that the consistency of more firepower wins 99/100.
They need to play this video as soon as you start up “Hell Let Loose” for the first time. Because a lot new people in the game clearly don’t know what there doin.
Ha cheers. I do think that they should have a tutorial page with links to some of the best guides out there on YT. SoulSniper guides are perfect as ge covers everything
My favorite set up is SL-Sup-AT-ENGI-Assault-MG. Support stay with SL drop supplies SL switch role drop his supplies and other 4 have capability to anti vehicles.
I think assault should always be present because of their adaptability I can have 6 nades and 4 smokes or grab a satchel if a objective is crowded or a tank is near it is almost always applicable
Squared up on discord with 6 guys last night and we were the flank team. Not much could deal with us, and since were on the move all the time, we never really met with opposition for very long. We would crack the enemy lines, then other squads flooded in as we kept moving and finding those cracks it was glorious.
Great video, it also heavily depends on what you're trying to do both offensively and defensively. Are you pushing the front line, hitting the flank, holding back an attack in defense, or just chilling and waiting to move the the next obj? I ideally have a set up for each situation but that would be a lot to type lol so I'll just as long as I have a support and an AT, I'm pretty happy, but really every class has a roll they can play effectively. Probably why they're called roles 😅
SL, MG, Medic, Engineer "bomb buildings", Support, Level 9 Assault "STG 44 and bomb buildings" That is my favorit German setup. Russian is ALL smg X-D. US and British is more or less like the German
I like playing squad leader but i feel bad telling people what to do, in my mind i want to tell the mg to setup in a spot so me and the bois can push up but i dont want to ruin peoples fun if he already had a plan setup or was racking up kills somewhere else
After 650 hours in the game. I think every squad should have a SL, Anti-Tank and Support, non-negotiable. MG is better on Defense I don't really agree with using it for attacks unless under certain circumstances, you wouldn't try to take Omaha Beach by going prone on the beach as MG. If I'm attacking a point id much rather have the extra mobile bodies in the form of Assault and Automatic Rifleman. the 6th slot should always be open to flex to whatever is needed (medic more than likely, or Engineer if there is barbed wire that needs to be satcheled) . No one should ever play rifleman, there is no reason and every other class provides more. German Rifleman Rank 6 has the Gewehr43 and explosive ammo and id still say just go support. If I'm defending SL, AT, Support guaranteed and then, MG, Engineer, and the 6th slot as flex again is your best lineup.
I want/wish for an engineer in my squads. One who has all change outs best. Building nodes is a must AND keeping up if the eng losses one. Plus laying down those eternal booby traps! They need to replace it. Second, is Hvy MG. Third, Assault . Forth, AT and fifth, Support. "IF" one of the squad can/would voluntary switch roles if needed, all the better. This squad can do anything. , ")'''''' Sry, I got emotional, hump! Yep, they will get er done!
@McBluffinGaming I love having an engineer in the squad for defenses, nodes obviously haha, and the torch to help repair friendly tanks. But a good medic is very useful too, especially if spawn points aren't being placed regularly

Satchel engineer with the American war crime stick is amazing and one that I always love running or having in the Squad when on attack
It's got surprisingly good range for a video game shotgun
And the random generated headshot at 100+ m on running enemies are hilarious!
Sarchels are awesome.
