I know a lot of the fans struggle when he goes a completely different direction whereas I applaud it. We all evolve so why shouldn't the music evolve too? This album is extremely relevant and punchy, so glad he's not afraid to explore whatever goes in his mind despite what other people might like it or not. The more you listen to this song the more you appreciate it. It's an amazing album, seriously (and I'm a PT fan since back in the day). Genious that's all I have to say

I THOUGHT the original of this had a bit of a Nile Rodgers feel, especially the bass. Seems the man himself agrees, and added a bit more of his touch to it! Fan-bloody-tastic. 😁

If this was my remix, I'd just tell everyone to ignore my original and go straight to this one.
I mean the original has a different feel and is worth listening to, but I agree that this is the superior version of the song. Well done Nile Rodgers!
A quite brilliant departure from the expected. Always expect the unexpected. I first came across this song from a clip of Nick Beggs playing the bass line, amazing.

This song realy grows on you
I've had the opposite experience. I quite liked it at first, now it's getting increasingly grating and I am developing a growing hatred for the chorus and everything in it. It has that quality typical of modern pop that it's designed to get stuck in your head by force, not by being actually enjoyable.

You know there is some concern when the remixes are increasingly better than the original song. This was always a disco track. But it's now reinforced by funk. Sounds more energetic rhythmically. In some ways the original is better. But it leaves you feeling like something is wrong or missing at the end. It's a confusing feeling like it is 3/4 of the way finished. That's how most of his songs sounds these days.
