Glad to see someone telling the truth about CD quality for certain kinds of music !
Thanks for pointing out the undeniable appeal of CDs (vs. LPs), Prince and Autechre.
Only just discovered Steve Wilson (thanks Beato) and am enjoying his prog remixes, solo work and porcupine tree. What a man!
Really interesting! Been loving the new album
Hearing someone as talented and respected as Steven Wilson talk about the value of compact discs is the best thing I've heard all year. LONG LIVE CDs!!!
I was wishing he mention Diorama by Silverchair. The perfect amount of psicodelic pop and prog production. Amazing album.
David Botrill did an interview about that on a Silverchair Fans Podcast last year. It's pretty inciteful. But yeah, I wonder what SW thinks of that album and Silverchair in general. Imagine him working with Daniel Johns.
Glad you discovered Shawn Phillips. A unique voice. Good album choice.
Not to mention Shawn Phillips' other 2 dozen+ albums!!!! :0)
Garage. Sounds cool
Awesome! We would all LOVE to see more from Wilson s collection.
I imagine Mr. Wilson's collection, which we can see only a small portion of, is massive and incomparable in scope. Would love to spend a few hours thumbing through it.
I knew his picks would be good. Great artist!!
6:10 Steven, I hope that some day you run the risk of doing some music of yours along the lines of Max Richter, Arvo Pärt, Phillip Glass (or any other sort of contemporary classical music). I've always thought, throughout all these years of listening your records, that this kind of music is naturally linked to your evolutionary path as a musician and I think that you have all the neccesary skills to successsfully achieve it.
Thank YOU Steven! Love ya man :)
I freaking love tears for fears 😀💞🌻☀️ and especially sowing the seeds of love❤️❤️
Excellent Steve. Thank you. Particularly liked your take on the more avant-garde releases, Autechre (also a fan) and Zoviet France (can't believe I've never listened before). So cheers again.
I listened to Shawn Phillips before Steven Wilson. Hipster moment of my life.
I learned about Shawn Phillips via Donovan. Fun fact: Shawn was the Texan hipster in London who played sitar and other instruments on the Sunshine Superman album. I’ve actually snagged two of his albums from Goodwill.

Thanks. I didn’t know that. Donovan’s Sunshine Superman is a classic.
Man does not age I swear by it
This video is gold. I have allways asked what kind of music Steven llikes...❤
