    Hello Tim
    Very good review of the EAD10.👍
    There are many clips about the EAD10 on UA-cam, but yours is byfar the
    best I have seen on UA-cam. Very. good drumming on the different scenes.
    👍🥁

      Yeah, I get it in Canada where I live they run close to $800 so not cheap! I highly recommend it though it has changed playing live and studio as well as all my UA-cam ideas for the better!

    Hi Tim
    John from Downunder, just bought the EAD 10 following your presentation.
    I am about to set this up on my kit, but I have one concern, I have a second set of hi- hats that is positioned in the middle of the kick drum and will be about 4" above where the senser unit is attached to the kick rim, will the hi-hats be too close and possibly distort the balance of the sensor mix?
    Also if I press auto on sensor gain and tap each drum does it SAVE automatically after 10 seconds or do you press Save after each calibration?..thank you

    • @drumteacher43
      @drumteacher43  Рік тому

      Hi John, yes the hat will be close and will potentially be the loudest but it shouldn’t distort it will just be louder than the floor Tom for example. But I’ve found that only if cymbals or hats are outside of a 6 foot radius does the volume significantly drop. For the sensor gain- just tap and play the whole kit for about 15-20 seconds then hit it again and it will calibrate the sounds automatically

      @@drumteacher43 Thank you Tim...I am going to try and position the second hi hats further away to the right of the kit and see how that effects the soundness.
      May I request another piece if advise please, I do understand I can listen to music through the AUX jack, but can I connect to a main mixing unit and pick up the complete mixed sound of the band as I am ordering an InEar piece and I am unsure whether I need to purchase a seperate small mixer for the drum kit as the AED module will be connected to the main pa sound mixing unit.
      Will I pick up the full band sound of the PA system through the headphones port of the AED main unit?, might be a dumb question sorry?

      I’m not 100% sure, so I messaged my friend simon with your questions, who is the Yamaha ead10 rep and is an expert in this area. I’ll let you know his response!😎🥁

    Is there a setup procedure to tell it how many toms you have?

    • @drumteacher43
      @drumteacher43  Рік тому +2

      No it’s a mic/trigger mounted on the bass drum and it just picks up the sound of all the drums and cymbals in a 6 ft radius and whatever studio effects you have programmed it puts the effects on everything! I have many videos using this mic/trigger! Check them out to get more information

    Can we use non Yamaha triggers ?

  • @flowerlandofjohn
    @flowerlandofjohn 11 місяців тому +1

    You can actually add 5 extra triggers (apart from the kick) to the EAD10. It’s a great solution for better levels and more overall punch. Example here ✌🏻🤩

      @flowerlandofjohn 11 місяців тому +1

      @@drumteacher43 Yeah I started with a snare trigger also, but felt that the floor-toms lacked some attack/volume. Case closed with extra triggers!

    could you hook up the printer cable to a computer and send recordings from the Ead10???

    • @drumteacher43
      @drumteacher43  Рік тому +1

      I think you can: Go to the Yamaha EAD10 download page and download and install the latest Yamaha driver.
      Connect the module to your computer with a USB 2.0 cable, launch your DAW, and set the EAD10 as a MIDI device. Check out our SweetCare article for DAW-specific MIDI device setup guides.
