The Simpsons, X-men, TMNT, Bucky O’Hare, Spider-Man: the Video Game, Aliens vs Predators. I’ve played them all but I’ve NEVER heard about this game until today lmao
OMG! I totally forgot about this game! Didn't even remember its existence up until now! It's been like... 25+ years since the last time I played this in the arcades. It was one of my favorites and I can now see why. Thank goodness I pressed the video mostly out of curiosity. Thank you for uploading. Thank UA-cam for suggesting me this. It's like I've opened a memory chest I forgot I ever had.
This game is totally underrated and deserves more love. This game is like the perfect blend between a beat em up and a horror game. Its like if you were to combine Final Fight with elements of Castlevania and Resident Evil. Honestly, this game is perfect. Shame it never had any sequels.
Unfortunately, like the rest of the "Johnny Turbo" releases the emulation quality is somewhat iffy, though it's one of the better releases as it just has some slowdown and sound crackling in one stage whereas other releases like Heavy Barrel have missing sounds in places. At least they frequently go on sale for a pittance.
Big fan of anything Halloween and/or horror themed. I love the level design and the soundtrack of the game. Grew up in the 90's with SNES and Genesis, but unfortunately never heard of or played this. Thanks for the upload!
i never heard about this game before. Get it into your head: Data East never did a bad game, when you see the Data East logo, guaranteed you will play an awesome game.
I love Data East games, this is no exception - not to mention all their games have awesome music. Supernatural Final Fight with zombies and monsters. This game left a lifetime impression on me, especially after playing it at the arcade as a kid. Thanks for the upload.
Use to love browsing the arcades with games like this. Problem being I ran out of change each time. Always happy to see these games played and completed.
The newly released "remaster" looks lightyears worser than this... It's criminal by how much they butchered with the "remaster", also stop with smoothing out those pixels like many gaming studios does with their remasters of older pixel art games. It looks terrible no matter of what!
OMG! I was 8 years old when I played this beauty in Italia. But I did not remember the name of this masterpiece and today I accidentally found it. Finally! P.S: I am 37 years old now :D
I wish games would get more political 😈 and if The Bunghole is right consumers may stop over consuming them and stuffing their backlogs fuller than a Thanksgiving turkey. Edit: this game opens directly with a message from the FBI and DOJ, that’s a pretty funny contradiction to the comment of no politics, somebody out there lightly enjoy the irony with me.
its official Nintendo has a demo version of the remake of this game right now it's basically the same Graphics that Streets of Rage 4 but it's only a demo right now the trailer is out now it's called night slashers remake!
Wow it means so much to me to see this me and my brother used to go to this barcade type place our friends dad owned we would play this for sometime as the bar was closed during afternoons it had the low all around lights bright screen loud speakers on this one and a ice cold surge . Thank you

A gruosome arcade game, i can tell you that. The bloodiest horror arcade game, i have ever played, is Splatterhouse. Happy Halloween 🎃 from Finland 🇫🇮. 😺👍
They randomly had this cabinet at a Mr. Gattis in a town in West Texas. I always watched/played constantly looking over my shoulder because I knew that if my Mom caught me I would get in trouble.
I just watched over 30 minutes of a cybernetic warrior piledrive vampires in the dirt.
I have no regrets.
no regerts
Hey I have a question... I played this game in my computer but the blood of the monsters are green-blue... why?? 😅
@@joaquinumpierrez9940 No idea buddy, perhaps some kind of censorship?
@@joaquinumpierrez9940 Maybe you are playing a regional version where the blood was censored. Try playing other versions.
PSYCHIC cybernetic warrior, mind you.
As someone who grew up in the arcade culture of the late 80's / early 90's, I've never even HEARD of this game...but its soundtrack fucking RULES.
The only time I've played it was back in the 90's in Montreal, when St-Catherines had at least a dozen arcades.
The Simpsons, X-men, TMNT, Bucky O’Hare, Spider-Man: the Video Game, Aliens vs Predators.
I’ve played them all but I’ve NEVER heard about this game until today lmao
True
Same here. I actually thought it was a new game made to look like retro arcades.
right?
Jake would have significantly more money if he stopped throwing away those expensive coats before every fight.

yes me too, I used to play this in the arcade and I was a child
😁
And it's getting a remake
One of those so many arcade-only games that I would have loved to see on Saturn or PS1. LONG LIVE DATA EAST.
"You won't be transforming anybody, buddy!" He said, over the hotdog on the floor.
Listen close. Jake says "Back to the abyss!" when he piledrives an enemy.
If you ever felt the urge to suplex a zombie, this is the game for you!
haha WWE wrestling was so popular back then
Take this!!
(Grab zombie and start twisting its limbs and tear it off)

I'm so glad they released this on the Switch. Worth every penny and a staple of my Halloween gaming repertoire!

I always love the "winners dont do drugs" on a quarter eater designed for you to lose

Never heard of this game! Thanks for introducing me, really miss this era of 2D gaming.
This game looks so bad ass! I would have loved this as a kid!
Same. I would’ve lost my shit if I had seen this in arcades back in the day. Now I need to find a rom of it.

The '90s were a glorious time to be young.
Seeing “Winners don’t use drugs” at the beginning of arcade games again makes me feel old
I love that one of the ads in the sporting arena advertises for "Murderer Chainsaws" with the slogan "Oh! What have I done!"
36 years and I'm still a real winner. Thanks, DE.
Looks fantastic! And of course Jake has the stars and stripes on his back fitting to his 80s glam metal hair. :D

i have a feeling the premise and especially cristopher were somewhat inspired by phantom blood, but kinda even more crazy and over the top
Love it! True Arcade Feelings, my dreamplace to be!
Simon Belmont may have wall chicken, but Jake has graveyard hotdogs. :-)
Dont forget Guy's trash can chicken ;)
Dude that’s not a hot dog…

Night Slashers or "A Very Jojo Halloween"
"winners don't use drugs" how come today's games don't have that iconic beginning 😆.
Because winners use drugs now.

Absurdly good pixel art
Bombastic soundtrack, juicy art, cool characters/bosses. No politics. Back then gamers know how to have fun.
Politics are ruining everything!

Night slashers sounds like a gang of serial killers
Does the mummy boss have SF2 M Bison’s stance? 23:21

This game is wonderful in every way. A 2D with anime style reminiscent of the art of Tetsuo Hara... It deserves a sequel or a remake.
It's getting a remake
