Zombie Raid is a screen scrolling, horror-themed light gun shooter in September co.developed byJapanese and Americans working at American Sammy Corporation and published by Sammy 1995 in USA and Japan for Seta 1st Generation Hardware. Players use specially designed sawed-off shotguns with pump action reload to fight their way through the graveyard, through castles and dungeons and even through the mad scientist's laboratory. Battle all kinds of ghastly creatures, like zombies and other frightful beings. This game is especially noteworthy for excellent and bloody hand-drawn visuals, everything is trying to kill you, and difficulty of both the cheap and the challenging kind.
Possibly my favorite game of this genre, and one I've still got a ROM of somewhere. One of the local bowling alleys used to have it, back in the day. I can't tell you how many quarters I fed into it, up until said alley closed. Broke my heart, losing access to that venue and the game in question. So, thank you for this.
I used to play the shit out of this game at the mall back when they had arcades back then. Makes me rethink of all the times I've said, "Kids have it so easy." Now I feel bad about what kids have missed out on when I was their age.
Indeed. I have a small feeling that it could be a possible translation error. The development team was mix of American and Japanese developers. Or someone really didn't pay attention to the story when making the game.
I remain confused about that Charles guy. Why was he helping you out if he's a member of the coven? I mean he literally had two opportunities to let you die if he hadn't intervened.
It's possible that he was captured and brainwashed. As soon he was shot, the effects of brainwashing kicked in and he turned against Edward as he transformed to fight the player.
LOL! I wondered the exact same thing. I guess the devs wanted a twist in the story. To be fair it was a surprise. But only because it made no sense. Still is a good game.
Haven't thought about this game for many years. This video brought back a whole way of nostalgia. Thank you.
Ah you shoot the credits too?😂
Very Underrated Light Gun Shooter!

One of those Japanese programmers was Onijust who is well known for his work in Taito.
The arcade cabinet's gun had a pump-action mechanisim to reload the gun when the player's bullets are depleted
I came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all out of gum.
Hail to the king, baby 👑😎

What did he mean by not feeling like he fulfilled his mission? He literally did.

純粋に、世界から悪が消えたわけではなく、これからも主人公の戦いは続いていくという意味だと思います。
