  • Ujjayi Pranayama, also known as ocean's breath is a breathing technique that helps calms the mind and body. In simplistic terms, it is a three part breathing which first fills the lower belly, slowly moving to the lower rib cage and then to the upper chest, finally.
    In this episode, AJ takes you through the intricacies of Ujjayi Breathing, explaining how to practice it properly. In addition to this, she also explains a little bit about the So-Hum breathing technique which is the stepping stone for any meditative practice.

    You are the best!!! Thank you so much...this is the best video for ujjai. I have seen atleast 20 videos all of them showed rigourous inhaling making loud snoring sounds in the neck, but this is correct

    You may have explained this better than anyone else I've seen. Not only that but the chanting of "So Hum' really helped me to tune in to the breath while I was meditating. Thanks so much for sharing this with us and I will subscribe for sure!

    Hi, it was a very elaborate explanation of the pranayama with some useful tricks. I would be grateful if you could also mention the typical duration the pranayama needs to be practiced along with the maximum duration that one should not exceed.
