Fascinated by the fact that Julie only realised she had made a mistake with George once she moved to Greece and found it boring, but not earlier when the guy had tried to strangle her mother!
George was a giant manbaby who didn't have any more skills than a toddler in processing and expressing his emotions. He should be locked up forever, 8 years is a disgrace.

Another classic case of how childhood trauma and abuse affect a person in a terrible way. Julia was severely insecure and traumatized and that made her vulnerable. People who haven’t been shown real and healthy love easily get tricked into fake love and are often attracted to other insecure and traumatized people. She also sounds like she had ADHD - being constantly bored is a big symptom of ADHD. That, combined with anxiety, trauma and PTSD makes for a very messed up person. Fix child abuse and trauma and we will have a better world!! Problem is, it’s a big and complicated problem to fix.

I was shocked to discover that George, following his release from prison, was actually able to marry & have a family. Surely the fact that he had strangled to death, tried to set alight, decapitated & disposed of Julie's body, would have been enough to deter any sane woman from wanting to marry him - with the thought that he might also want to kill them one day as well!
I also found it hard to understand why Julie would want to remain romantically involved with a man who had tried to strangle her own mother. Surely that alone would have been a very bad omen for any future romantic relationship with him.

(I don't get how he got conjugal visits considering that he clearly had a big problem with women and killed them)...but at least Ted was in prison where he could be monitored to some extent. This wife of George must have liked those "bad boys", as did Julie. That's the only explanation that I can come up with. As far as trying to choke her mom--personally I would have run for the hills.
