This is so sad. Firstly, He’s wasn’t ugly at all, what the heck, he had great hair, friendly smile, tall build, looks aren’t everything but this certainly wasn’t true and it prevented him from finding someone who would actually value him. He seemed like such a great guy. It makes me so sad when people destroy people’s self-esteem so far that they can’t see themselves as they are.

How long after becoming a victim of a sociopath does it become the victim's fault? @@jdaniels1313 it's easy to say it when we recognize the pattern. But let's not forget that narcissists PREY and AIM specifically at vulnerable people. They are like magnets. I worked with women with a historic of sexl abuse, and many many times, they had abusive and dominant partners. It's hard to seek another type of relationship (being bullied and humiliated) when that's all you know.

The tragedy is that his high school bullying convinced him that he was ugly. Based on his yearbook photo, he was going through an awkward stage but he was hardly beyond the pale. Mind you, bullying is always less about the victim's actual traits and more about the bullies' cruelty and desire to dominate. If he hadn't been tormented like this, or if he'd had access to counseling to help him deal with it, he wouldn't have become easy prey for the likes of Rebecca. 😢

I've noticed that many teenagers that are not conventionally attractive actually grow into very good-looking people - the strong features that overwhelm their face when younger become striking as they grow into their adult looks. But, of course, by that time the emotional damage is done.
I don't think he was ever especially unattractive but as an adult he most definitely wasn't. I know it goes both ways, but there is something really evil in women who play men like this. It's so sad, he deserved a wife who built him up, but he got.....this. And she wasn't even particularly attractive, she was hardly trophy wife territory.
Meh. I hate narcs and users of any gender, but I think because I'm female, I particularly despise this sort of woman. Apart from anything else, they contribute to the stereotype which has an effect on the perception of us all. Vile woman and poor Bruce.

That isnot helped by a system intent on brainwashing boys that all men are bad and must atone and confess for the original sin of being male. Some react by becoming misogynous and others by self flagellation of their own male identity and becoming super nice. It's really unhealthy in both cases. • @DM-kl4em
      @DM-kl4em 2 місяці тому

@valnsky It truly is a match made in Hell. Empathic people give so much to others and leave so little to themselves. Narcissistic people feel no empathy themselves, but they are WELL AWARE of empathy in others. Empathic people are an absolute gold mine to them!
The narcissist says "Let me see just how much I can manipulate this person into giving me. The empath says "Maybe if I give just a little bit more, this person will finally love and appreciate me". The narcissist will never actually reward the empath with validation, but they will hint at it just enough to give the empath a false hope so they keep giving. It's a textbook example of the old "carrot on a stick" metaphor, and it is every bit as evil as it sounds.
Narcissists will do this to their spouse, and will even do it to their own children. Children, especially, will often love their parents unconditionally, and narcissistic parents enjoy the h**l out of it. Your spouse my finally file for divorce and cut off all contact, but children will often forgive a lifetime of abuse. I know a woman once, who continued to care for her mother up until her death, letting her mother live with her, even while her mother was screaming and swearing at her, and INTENTIONALLY defecating on the floor so that she had to clean it up (and continuing to yell and swear at her while she did so). She was smiling and laughing when the old bat finally died, and we were so happy for her. However, it was a mystery to us why her mother, who couldn't even change her own clothes anymore, had such a hold on her until her dying day.

Great video and great research, as always ! Your videos are always a great source for information about a case.
Besides that, would you be interested in covering Shanquella Robinson‘s case? I just learned about her death yesterday and am shocked at how little coverage her case has gotten. I know it is an ongoing and open investigation, yet I‘d still be interested in hearing your opinion.
    Have a great day :)

Such a sad case. Another example of the importance of insight. Having a clear perception of the situation is particularly hard when emotions are involved, and aren't they always involved in a romantic relationship? Great profile as always, Dr. Grande.

I feel so sad for Bruce. He was probabily a good guy, a bit insecure and anxious, and while focusing on his studies and later career, he didn't socialize with others, which led him to stay very innocent or better said unknowledgeable about love and social interactions and how to read people. Poor guy

Why didn't she get the death penalty. I'm not for the death penalty but for her I'd make an exception.
Why Bruce why....because you loved someone that did not love you back. There is a woman that would love you.....you never met her .... Rebecca robbed you of that too.

As a man that recently got separated from a narcissistic woman with histrionic traits this was incredibly chilling to see. Makes me wonder where it could have led if I didn't improve my insight and self-esteem through introspection enough to decide to divorce from her. She managed to get a restraining order against me on bogus charges to save her image and appear as the victim, but the divorce trials is coming where, I'll likely be from the start seen as the perpetrator due to my gender. Don't care, all I want is to get divorced from this creature and send her back to the shithole she came from (while I'm not rich, I'm a EU citizen and she's from South America and this is the supply that she was getting from me). I just want her gone from my life. Attacked my image, my friend group, my job.

As a former life insurance agent, the insured would need to have a physical prior to the policy going into effect. So the buyer of the policy can forge it if they want, but it's actually not valid anyway

Sad thing is I know someone like this. She married in her words ‘the most unattractive and gullible man on the planet’, but the poor thing has good job and money. She refuses to get a job and boasts about sleeping with their decorator and her ex and spends money like there is no tomorrow. Her husband knows as people in his circle all try to beat some sense into him and would not leave.
