I lived in Gloucester and was a patient of Dr. Sharpe. He was deeply weird even to look at and one of the most arrogant people I've ever met. This event was a huge shock to our community . Karen was a beloved friend to many. It was incredibly sad.

My dad went to him to check a mole and came home exclaiming what a looney tune the guy was. He was playing video games while my dad sat and waited for him to check his mole, right in the same room. It was shortly after that we heard about the murder. There should be PSA "AUTOGYNEPHILES ARE POWER SEEKING NARCISSISTS DON'T ALLOW THEM TO MANIPULATE YOU". I dated one that left to blow his married boyfriend that wanted to get rid of me then he punched HIMSELF in the face so he could claim he was defending my honor and could garner sympathy. His other friend told me he faked the fight and bloody nose, I told him he was sick for saying that and never to speak to me again. Turned out to be true. Dude is a fuckin doctor. Fuckin cray cray, thought I was gonna be his beard, incubator, house slave, arm candy. Maybe get him dressed up and pegged between boyfriend visits. Autogynephiles enjoy living off of people. It's part of their "being treated like a stupid spoiled slut/bimbo/woman" fantasy. They love to go into prostitution, live off parents, the state, take take take. I think they like to become doctors not just for the power and status but because the education process is long and if someone else is paying then they're happy to stay in school forever. I'm surprised this guy became successful. Back in the day "trans women" tended to be trustfund babies or transition once they were in power or retired, now the government provides and people are losing their kids. Dr. Sharpe was my doctor. I saw some compassion in him. I found him to be intense
yet professional. He had a lot of his young childrens art work in his office. He was a
very intense super-critical person with some sincere compassion. Really unique guy.
I feel so sorry for his family. I remember he would call his wife to schedule his calendar.
So I think they were both co-dependent on eachother for security. I saw her once in his
office she was very kind and pretty.

    • @magical571
      @magical571 Місяць тому +2

i think it's insane that you are trying to paint him as pitiable or some poor soul. by the time he commited murder, they were apart, divorced, a restraining order was in place, they were living separetely. even if you believe that they were co-dependant, which i doubt they were (what you describe is a man obssesed with his wife and children in a toxic way, you don't add anything from the other side in that regard to make it look remotely reciprocated), by that point she was fully away, independant and functional on her own.
He deserves no compassion unless somehow you indentify personally with him or your own bigotries are shinning through. which should make you question why that is the case and take a step to work on yourself.
"intense" "super critical" """unique""" you are painting the image of someone who is a walking red flag, not a poor compassionate soul. and even then, you were his patient. i promise you: you didn't know him at all. i know people tend to believe they do, but no. a proffesional enviormment is different from a personal one, and people who have unhealthy personalities are stil concsious of how they come across unless they are 100% detached from reality. he clearly to some degree masked his issues to different degrees of success, but enough to allow him to maintain a job and a career path. and that's what you got to know, and even then you percieved some of the red flags. but you are spinning it as a poor compassionate soul.
i feel bad for his wife, and their children. he? he can rot in hell. the facts are the facts.

Even after all this time, I still remember how strange Sharp was and how on the stand at trial how he kept his eyes closed the entire time when being questioned. It’s also sad that Karen couldn’t seem to get away from the relationship, even though she knew almost from the beginning that marrying Richard was a bad idea. Thanks for analyzing this one Dr. Grande-and thank you for lightening the subject up with your trademark humor.

Three words "battered woman syndrome". Yes, it's actually a thing. And yes, it's explains a lot about Karen's behavior through out her relationship with her husband. Including the fact that she unfortunately lost her life after he lost his control over her. Control he thought of as absolute. Meaning that she wouldn't use the fact that he'd most of his wealth over to her (as a measure for to fight being sued for malpractice) to finally get away from him.

Most people dissociate at the movies, for example, because you can feel like that two hour movie "flew by" (if it was good lol). You don't lose your sense of right and wrong in that moment. Good evening Dr. Grande. As always an excellent analysis. My question is why do women( including myself back in the 90s) stay with me who are abusive?
    Have a wonderful week.

No doctor here. Was in an emotionally abusive relationship and I can tell you that women stay because they dont think they deserve better. Very low self esteem. Along with never having a healthy relationship with a man in their lives (fathers, step fathers…etc)

If you respect and love yourself you would not stay in such a relationships We want to be validated and to be loved but inwardly we do not feel we deserve love Past abuse makes this much worse Co- dependence tend to attract abusive Narc relationships We think if we just love more and harder and do more then this person who is abusing us will see the light and wake up and love us Sadly this does not work All we can do is get out ,heal and move forward

That’s strange, i have a friend who crossdresses.. Also has a jealousy for his sister. I heard crossdressing is always related to jealousy of women, rather than adoration.

Probably was abused and saw that his sister never faced such abuse. The mistreatment of boys in society is making boys and men want to be women and girls, because they see how society cares about them more, sadly.

I can relate to Harry. My mom died (cancer) when I was 15, and I didn't believe she was gone, either. I went through years of numb denial, which I guess could have been lessened with some family counseling. (My family didn't believe in therapy, either). Some early intervention could have spared Harry (and myself) from some future problems.

“Just as he was rejected by his wife, he would later be rejected by a jury.” I don’t know why, but that made me laugh, and so did the skin puns. 😅

So he was a thief too. And wanted his 2+ million back after she paid for his education. That must've pushed her over the edge.
