I’ve got three of them, two 357/ one six inch one three inch and I can hit steel at 100 yards easily with the iron sights. I also have a six inch 9 mm same story these are very accurate, every one at the range is impressed, I have many revolvers and these are at the top as far as accurate.
I was sold after firing 3 rounds. I'm loving mine even with the two inch barrel is accurate and the design reduces the reacquire target time between shots.
I just got one last week, and they tend to be hard to eject the cylinder at first until I realized that if you turn the cylinder and open it at the same time it comes out a whole lot smoother, mine is made to shoot 357 and 38 shells but the 357 shells get stuck in the cylinder after shooting maybe because the gun still kind of new, but it shoots 38 better
I cut my teeth on S&W revolvers, but the 6 o'clock barrel position makes far more sense. It virtually does away with muzzle flip, which allows for fast sight acquisition and follow up shots. I don't own one yet, but look forward to adding it to my collection as soon as possible.
Objectively speaking, I think most Chiappa Rhino haters are basing their prejudices heavily on the fact that they are indoctrined by the classic revolver design. It's like comparing classic cars decades ago to modern carbon fibre supercars.
Like the intro. Like your style. I'm liking the revolver so far. I've been researching it for 2 years now, and am on the brink of purchasing. Keep up the good work.
How was your experience with Chiappa customer service. A few months back it was great but now, it sucks and not please with their customer service. Did they make you pay for the shipping costs? I love the gun but not their service and all i was trying to do is buy parts not even service the gun.
I would. It's thinner than normal revolvers because the cylinders are flat on the sides. The best for everyday carry would be the 40DS(4in), 30DS(3in) and 20DS(2in).
Yes they do but it makes the gun unreliable. When I sent it in for work I asked if they would do the trigger job and they advised against it because with the lighter trigger it doesn't hit the primer with enough force so you need to use light primers to get it to shoot reliably.
maybe dry firing it messed up the works a little, the rhino is a cool concept though, i have an 8 inch 686 (my only revolver now) i wouldn't mind trying the 6 inch rhino...
I bought a 200DS, and also am having the trigger lockup problem. About 25 good rounds, and locked up at around 35 rounds. I have contacted Chiappa about warrenty repair and waiting to here from them. Question though. How do you send them back to the factory? Im sure I will find out soon, but just wanted your version. Be safe. Ray
Great video--straight talking, cut to the chase, no bs. I'd like to get a Mateba, but of course those are almost impossible to find, so I'm looking at a Chiappa. How's the range with the 4" barrel? I'm tempted, but have always bought revolvers with 6" barrels...
creo que todo va en la comodidad de quien la usa, hay quienes le gusta un revolver clasico y otros que quieren ser mas futuristas o simplemente vistosos con su ego....en todos los casos lo importante es que te llene el corazon de alegrias al dispararlas
Just out of curiosity, have you had any issues with your 60 in the year-ish since you did this video? I am still getting one but want to be prepared for any issues. Thanks. I like your style of video.
Great reviews and videos. How did both of your Chiappa holding up after 3 years? Have you had experience or heard about their COMBO-2 cylinder 357Mag/9mm? Can't seen to find any review about the combo kit.
The Rhino has a recoil impulse unmatched among revolvers. The only thing that would come close to it is a Meteba Unica, but that's because they were designed by the same guy, Emilio Ghisoni. The new Laugo Arms Alien semi auto pistol could compare to a Rhino, but it's very expensive.
Yes it would actually. You can use .38 special to train with because they're cheaper and have less recoil than .357mag. The shaved sides of the Rhino's cylinder keeps it thinner than other revolvers making it easy to conceal as well.
I bought one listed as .357/9 from an online dealer, but when i received it I was puzzled as it clearly could not take 9mm. So I emailed Chiappa directly first to see if I had somehow done something wrong, or had gotten the wrong parts in the box. They said there aren't any of the combo 357/9 yet in the country.
No, it was only that initial lock up that happened. if anyone gets a Rhino I'd suggest doing a "break in" to see if it will. Shoot the piss out of it...lol
looks are in the eye of the beholder and my eye says that thing is beautiful! It looks so futuristic. I can't wait to but the snubby version as a carry piece.
Where do they build these guns & are they fairly new? The 1st time I saw 1 was in Suicide Squad when I saw Harley Quinn with it I looked it up & come here. Last question would you buy it again if you had the chance or is it one you regret buying? I've definitely had a few of those in my time. anyways nice review
Fitty% TACTICAL cool. 1st time I saw 1 was in Suicide Squad. definitely neat gun. seams like they had good customer service. there gun show next weekend I'll have to look for 1. what's good price range for them if I come across one? thanks for your reply
Great vid. Like your style. Due to the design, does this have more FELT recoil? If not, why not? It seems like recoil going straight back (without springs) is more harsh than the barrel flipping up.
Interesting to hear the story on the range; I have dry fired my 30SD a lot since I got it few days ago because it feels good right? I hope I do not have the same experience when going live firing!
Awesome videos, thank you sir! I'm eyeing a Rhino - any opinion on which to choose between the 40 and the 60? This would be for the range/woods so ability to conceal isn't a concern.
Do you know if they have the 9mm cylinders or models available yet? I was reading in another forum how you had inquired about those. I've seen some .40 for sale but only in 4" as well.
I used a gun like this in San Antonio, single action was weird, hard t pull. Maybe because that gun was used by dozens of people week after week. Something was wrong with its mechanism. Also the latch was hard to operate. On the other hand, S&W 66 was superb.
I always fire my revolvers in DA since it's highly unlikely that I'l lever switch to single, hwoever I would prefer one with a visible hammer, love the look, love the design, love the "Euro-grips" like the glock....the 40DS is going to become my carry gun at some point.
Neat revolver. I have always wanted to check out one but NO ONE carries chiappa anywhere here. I mean I couldn't find one at any of the big retailers and even sellway armory didn't have one. I'm in Montana, I don't know what the rhyme or reason is. I didn't ask sellway I should had
+cuda861 Seems people are buying them up about as fast as they can be made. The exception being the single-action 'california compliant' version, which noone wants, and you can find in various locations' inventory by the truckload.
Just got my Black Chiappa Rhino 60DS and I love it haha. But I have a question, is it safe to dry fire it or should I buy snap caps. And secondly holy hell it's a work out pulling the trigger when it's not manually cocked. My left hand(weak hand) can neither pull the trigger or cock the hammer my right hand can do it but it's a little tough. Regardless I love it. Now I need to shoot it haha
Liked video very informative! You need to be a news broadcaster or actor or in radio with your smooth action dude, you got class and are great at videos...thanks !
Thanks for the invite to Tennessee. Trust me, if I wasn't so close to retirement with my company I could move to a less liberal state. There are many good responsible gun owners here, but you do have to jump through the hoops. I finally found out how I could buy a Chiappa Rhino. The gun must be converted to " single Action" Only. Not sure how to put it back to normal after the purchase. ......oh yeah, and it cost 50 bucks more for the California version. The heck with that. California gun rights advocates are trying to get the whole gun roster thrown out for violating our constitutional rights. I pray that they succeed!!
i use UA-cam almost daily, and i NEVER hit the like button despite how amazing the video is. But..... that last comment you made was the sole reason why i hit the like button for the first time
I have always had the locking up up on revolvers with rossi or taurus revolver and rossi or taurus gunsmiths have never been able to successfully repair it. I wonder what it is
CHEVY BOY!!!! Recoil technically is still there. What’s almost totally gone is your muzzle flip. Since the barrel is in line with your hand, the recoil kicks into your hand instead of over it. And that’s probably its major selling point and definitely what made me decide I want a 50ds .357 of this gun!
@@zahktuthalxalyrion6364 yea it's honestly like he said well with the 40ds anyways like shooting a 22..and with 357 in it maybe a 22 mag..lol..but the str8 back kick as long as u dont limp wrist it I never even feel...most comfortable fit especially for 1 handed shooting really unbelievable
I'll be honest, when I heard the rap intro I almost cut the show off! I figured it'd be a bunch of rap music with NO CONTENT!!! WRONG!!! Great video! I like your style!

Fitty% TACTICAL Really? My only concern with buying one is the grip looking like it's something from the 1400's. That thing looks painful as hell, but...if the lower bore operates as intended, and you suggest it does, maybe no big deal.
HotaruZoku They have a larger grip you can by but its just longer. Believe me when I say that when you hold the weapon correctly 38's feel like .22s and 357's feel like +P 38's

TheSchmeister exactly...lol
I am doubting that the aluminum frame will hold up with a steady diet of 357 mag. And yes ist ugly. But I dont "hate" it.
It's 7075 aluminum alloy. It has excellent strength and is comparable to a lot of steels.
Glad to hear Chiappa turned around the repair so quick. Did they offer any info as to why it locked up? Design flaw?
even the con you got still showcases how chiappa has this wonderful customer service...
Not a lot of pros vs. cons videos out there as honest as yours, very useful information and no sales pitch. Thank you for that
No problem bud

Did the factory explain to you what the actual problem was and why it jammed ?
Looks cool. Man that opening is very close to your hand. So do I want to burn my hand to defend myself? Not really
Would you recommend it for everyday carrying? If so, which one?
I would. It's thinner than normal revolvers because the cylinders are flat on the sides. The best for everyday carry would be the 40DS(4in), 30DS(3in) and 20DS(2in).
And that's why we go to the range. Glad you got it sorted so fast. I wouldn't have had the guts to bang it.
Did you have any more issues why any of them? I've read of lot of complaints about owners who had their gun locked up like you.
Twinturb069 no more issues for me and the one that had warranty work done is smoother and better then before.
Good to know. Im considering getting one =)
The Chiappa customer service was very good. I got it back in under a month.

Hey would you trust the chiappa in the winter as a side arm for self-defense in woods of Alaska? or would it freeze up?
+Josh Hassevoort I don't think its more prone to freezing up than any other modern revolver.
Good review Sir 👍 already looking forward to pick up my 60 Hunter tomorrow. Greetings from 🇨🇭

looking for a new .357 i have my eye on a 586 6" but seeing these Chiappas on the internet. it really has my blood flowing.
One more thing...Did you use the moon clips? There was nothing in the manual about them.
How do you use them??
Be safe, Ray
Well Im half black and half white. What does this have to do with the video?
How accurate does it shoot? I want a bear gun for Alaska. I was thinking 1911 .45, Glock 10mm, or this Chiappa .357? What's your thoughts?

Would that be a wise choice?
Yes it would actually. You can use .38 special to train with because they're cheaper and have less recoil than .357mag. The shaved sides of the Rhino's cylinder keeps it thinner than other revolvers making it easy to conceal as well.

I've often wondered why people pull the hammer down on double action weapons. You're never gonna do that in a defensive situation.
My initial shot would be double action as I train by pulling the hammer back as I draw.
