Fun fact: Geoff isn’t the one who named the clones. He had been just calling them like clone 1, clone 2.
Some of his patreons started coming up with silly names for them…mostly trying to come up with the weirdest way to spell Geoff. We were just having fun trying to out do each other, and had no idea he had even noticed.
Until this video dropped.
I started watching what I said after that, lol!
He's hired one more clone, Daryl. So it's Geoff, Jeff, Geoph, Goff, and Daryl.
This one was so much fun. As I recall this was E’s last release.
Geoff strives for perfection in his low notes so he will often record those low notes many times until it sounds just right to him. All singers will do that.
I had to look this up when it came out; it was in one of Elvis' movies. Another guy keeps popping up during the number to hit the lowest notes. But of course Geoff does it all, himself. The flirty dancing is very cute.
This was one of Elvis' last releases, just before he died. Geoff worked very hard to hit that last note, a C1, because the back up singer for Elvis did it so well. This was so much fun with one Geoff eating popcorn out of the dust pan, the other using the toilet brush for a mike. That very last scene, when he seemed to lick the brush? The behind the scenes footage shows that he couldn't hold it together. The lick/slurp sound CUT and Geoff doubles over in laughter.
It’s worth it to check out Elvis singing this (duet with JD Sumner singing the low parts). It really shows how good of a job Geoff is doing.
I did that and it was sort of sad. JD Sumner was out of this world. But Elvis was wearing one of those crazy fringed jumpsuits and the mic cord was stuck in it and he fussed with it the entire time. It really took away from the performance!

JD Sumner was one of the most famous southern gospel bass singers ever. Elvis loved having him on stage with him, and Way Down was pretty historic when JD hit that pure C1. Massive props to Geoff for all the work he put into replicating that final note.

The only clone that wasn’t in this one was Darryl. He didn’t show up until Ghostriders in the Sky. (He’s the ‘very manly’ one in the duster. (Geoff’s comment)
I had heard this before but wasn’t really familiar with it. But I loved that Geoff was just able to let go and have fun with it.
I believe thus is one of Elvis' last song if not his actual last song (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
That Last note was an A0 growl and it took Geoff about 80 tries (or more) to get it. So Im pretty sure I'll never manage to get that low. But I have managed to pull off a subhurmanic note once or twice after watching Geoff little tutorial about how to sing low. It's fun to watch so I'll recommend it.

I will NEVER be able to sing that low but it amuses me to try. It also has helped me to actually sing and speak lower.

Most people don't know that because Geoff is Italian his name is spell in Italian. Because there is no J in the Italian alphabet it is spelled Geoff not Jeff.
