And this is why they are the "theatre kids" of a cappella!! 😋

My favorite Voiceplay video with Rachel Potter in it is "Attention".
Its one of their older videos but really cool.

This is so much fun. Rachel was about 8 months pregnant here. In this one, I love Layne as the mad scientist, beatboxing with his rotten teeth!

We're always happy to see Rachel! I imagine she's very busy doing Mom things. But, like Omar Cardona, to me she's an honorary member of Voiceplay. This one is really fun! Has anyone told you that Eli works as a voice actor? Most of the "extra" voices you hear in Voiceplay vids are him.

I realize you’re set for this week, but for future reference…Rachel was wonderful in VoicePlay’s cover of Phantom, also in their melody of tunes from Wicked.

Much better than I remembered; I haven't seen it in a long while. Impressive effect, the tiny Geoffs under his hat! But I can't remember a Mr. Hyde amongst the Halloween Town denizens. I may go check that.

Tony Wakim, former VP baritone and current co-owner of Pattycake Productions with Layne, is the guy in the Oogie Boogie costume. Geoff wore the same costume for their Mean Girls version of Jingle Bell Rock. Tony is featured in their first theatrical style video, Phantom of the Opera. Tony has a fabulous voice. I still mourn the fact that he left because he no longer wanted to tour ... but we wouldn't have J.None or Cesar de la Rosa if he'd stayed, and they also bring awesome talent to the group.

There was actually so much Geoff in this! Like a crazy amount of subharmonics, and even accidental overtones, it’s just not as in your face as some of their other songs. Nor should it be the Geoff show all the time. This is probably one of their most technically complex arrangements they’ve ever done. The background vocals are wild.

"A lot less Geoff than I thought was gonna happen" - good thing Oogie Boogie is the next one you listened to!

After these four days, anything VP you haven’t reacted to will be worth your reaction.

I know you have your videos set for this week. (And I’m really looking forward to tomorrow). But I have a suggestion for another time.
I’ve mentioned Layne and Tony’s Pattycake Productions. They write original songs and envision what happened to Disney villains after the movies ended.
I think you’d particularly enjoy on segment of their Villians Lair series - Oogie’s Got His Boogie Back. It’s a lot of fun. And Geoff’s wife Kathy plays the witch little kid.

    It was fun.
Not my favorite Nightmare Before Christmas song, but necessary to the story.
