As a patron of Geoff and Voiceplay it makes me so happy, to have you now in our community. I really appreciate your reactions and love every single of them. Don't hesitate to stop as often as you like to express your reaction and thoughts, that's the sense of a reaction. It just helps to get back into the arrangement, when you could go back some seconds after each stop. I love when you have your hair open - maybe without that beard you could mess with Geoff ;-)
He can play more than the piano! But *I* won't give spoilers! Please do "Folsom Prison Blues!" That video is just...it's so EVERYTHING!💙 Oh! And as the door closes at the end, pay close attention in the upper background!
There are definitely interviews out there and videos on his channel where Geoff talks about how hard he has worked to get where he is vocally, beginning in high school. Even just going back to some of the older Voiceplay videos on UA-cam, it is evident how much he has improved over time. Obviously he started with a beautiful deep voice, but the work he has put in is evident in every part of his range.
This one is in my top 5 of Geoff - my favourite is High and Dry . He has so many fabulous covers : Man of Constant Sorrow, Misty Mountains Cold, I see Fire, Jack's Lament, Unshaken etc. etc. 🌹🕊
"Where does this all come from"... You can get a hint watching the two or three videos on his channel in which he explains "How to sing REALLY LOW". In them, he explains some of his singing techniques and gives a glimpse of his approach, like when he says things as "This technique... The first 500 times it hurts like hell, but then it starts getting better" or other things of the like 😁😅. There's so much time and study and dedication, behind these performances. 🙂 Enjoyed today reactions as well. And I ca't wait to watch tomorrow's! 🙂 See you there!
Such a great reaction! 💙 Oh, has someone mentioned you should do Geoff's "Ghost Riders In The Sky" and his latest, "Unshaken," (one of his best, IMO) on the same day? One is a preview of the other. Though I think it could actually work in either direction.
And both those channels do truly epic reactions, as Elizabeth (TCV) is a Vocal Coach (she's worked with J. None, I believe) and Peter Barber is a professional singer and a heckuva bass himself. He's in The Bass Gang. I bet you'd enjoy watching their reactions as well as those interviews. They're longer, but even with my ADD I still love watching them, and they hold my attention, no mean feat! Elizabeth has the cutest little giggle when Geoff hits a liw note!
@@DravenGal It was Tara Simon who employed J.None as a vocal coach. She also did a great interview with Geoff where she asked when did he realize he had a low voice.
I hope you will react to his 2 Hobbit covers. Also his cover of Monster Mash is amazing 😅 There are a few interviews of Geoff on UA-cam that you might find interesting!
That's awesome! The first album I remember buying was "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!" LOL, I was raised on musicals! Thanks Mom and Dad! You totally put me on the right track to find and treasure Voiceplay! Sorry, Emma, I got off track! So what is your favorite SOS cover? Though they're each so unique, I'm not sure I can pick, but I can say Disturbed's and Geoff's are my top two! The order kind of depends on my mood.
Geoff does sometimes do interviews on UA-cam. There’s probably an email address on his channel (probably to Kathy) or if you’re willing to do his Patreon he does regular chats with us all over there.
Well, with singing bass, you either have it with puberty or you don't. The majority of this (outside of one subharmonic) the bass was all chest voice... that means it was his natural voice. When it comes to chest voice, you cannot manipulate it to go lower. Geoff's lowest chest note is an F1, which is nearly an octave deeper than a typical bass singer and only one semitone higher than the lowest note on a 4-string bass guitar. But, Geoff's highest chest is a B4, which is only one semitone from the highest note you'll hear from a typical tenor... his voice type is so rare, it's in a league of it's own.
Oh yes, an interview between you and Geoff would be absolutely cool. He already had one with the Charismatic Voice and Peter Barber.
For me, this is the best cover of Sound of Silence ever.

You're the best!🐿️
Geoff can definitely pull the ladies. We just don't get too close. We don't want Kathy to bring out the boxing gloves on us.😅
Yes the piano playing is sexy. But also he bakes his own bread, is a great husband and father, is funny and humble. Almost a perfect man. Sigh ❤❤❤❤

The piano he is playing he brought for the special sound he wanted for his cover of Till Then. Love that Mills Brothers cover.

I love that Geoff doesn’t try to just cover but tries to make it his own
Such a great reaction! 💙

I was thinking the same thing!
He did a great interview on the Charismatic Voice’s channel.
And another great one with Peter Barber, which is also on UA-cam.

@@tiredangel39 Ah, thank you, I mixed up the lovely ladies! They're both great! And Tara told us J. None's real name! Hee hee!

First album I ever bought was Simon and Garfunkel "Sounds of Silence". This is still one of my favorite songs. Loved watching you listen to it.
Nice!🐿️

Thanks aunt Tamra!
there are a few interviews out on YT with Geoff, if there are questions you want answered. 🙂
I would have sworn this would take first place for you. Good thing there was no wager involved. Can't wait for tomorrow!
May I recommend to throw your eye and ear on "Way down" of Geoff if you would like to see one of his more funny sides?
Done!🐿️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm sure you already have your week planned out, but I hope it includes I See Fire, Ain't No Sunshine, and Way Down 😁
Never planned! Let’s see!🐿️
😎🤙❤️🔥
