Great video, Id like to add the fact that Red Harlow is mentioned by campers throughout the epilogue of the game. So the games definitely are in a connected universe, just that Red Dead Revolver is probably a tall tale of sorts in the Red Dead Redemption universe.

He's even mentioned in Red Dead redemption the when you sit around some of the campfires and listen to the to the guys talking don't tell the tales of other Legends and other actually one of them that I realized was also talking about the vanderlaan gang and they didn't say a name but I would suggest they were talking about Arthur.

When I first saw the trailer for Red Dead Redemption 1, I originally thought it was a sequel to Red Dead Revolver, especially when you consider that both Red and John look similar to each other, not just facial wise, but also their clothing is fairly similar, especially their hats.

I’d actually love for them to include Red Dead Revolvers locations in RDR2 one day. Maybe if we get a remake of RDR1 and RDR2 Bundled into one game, we could get some of these locations in some new states.

I would really love to see Red Harlow return for a Red Dead Redemption III. Also a prequel to where the Van der Linde gang first started would also work in my opinion. Another is Jack Marston, WW1, but that may be a little bit too far from what Red Dead is supposed to be. Continuing, maybe have an entirely new set of characters, that would be pretty awesome and cool as well. Let me know what you guys think of my opinions, and I would love to know your thoughts on all of this, and what you think should happen.

As much fun as Jack being in ww1 would be he wouldn't get involved just due to the he doesn't want to defend the government that killed his father. More appropriate he would get involved the Mexico revolution. I know John was involved in 1911 but it lasted all the way until 1920 in real life so Jack could be fighting that war

    • @arthurshelby9464
      @arthurshelby9464 Рік тому +1

@@jesusolguin5896 Nah he wouldn't be involved there either. John's involvement was involuntary and he frequently stated how he hated war and how he doesn't like picking sides, despite clearly despising Allende's side. Since he probably raised Jack on those principles, it is highly unlikely for Jack to become involved in any war.

A lot of people apparently still don't get that the Red Dead franchise is composed of 3 universes just like the Grand Theft Auto series. And I have confirmation from Rockstar Games themselves.
IGN Interview with Devs, "A Man and His Horse" (2009):
During the beginning stages of production, Rockstar had to decide which elements from Revolver fit in with the drastically changed structure of the game world in Redemption. "We loved the mechanic of Deadeye and thought it was executed very nicely for the time…so we wanted to keep that and keep the Wild West theme, but beyond that I don't think there's much that's being kept. I think the way we came to see Read Dead Revolver as being about the kind of myths and iconic images of the Old West, the cowboy with the scar on his face, the Indian, or the iconic set pieces put together in a somewhat linking story but it was really about trying to show off these very iconic myths about the Old West. Then what we wanted to do with Red Dead Redemption was to do something that felt more like the reality of the Old West…Story-wise we felt there was no point linking them because it wouldn't make any sense."
(Most of this bit was said by Dan Houser)
'Asked & Answered: Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer Posses, Episodes from Liberty City, and Much More' (April 16, 2010):
"Well, it’s definitely not a narrative sequel - more of a spiritual successor as you put it. Exploring the themes of the American West, but now in an open world environment, which we decided while finishing Red Dead Revolver, was the only way to do this subject matter justice."
'Asked & Answered: Red Dead Redemption DLC & Multiplayer Edition' (August 15, 2010):
"We’ve said before that we consider Redemption to be really more of a spiritual successor to Revolver than a proper sequel, but there are some aspects of Red Dead Redemption that are a direct nod to the 2004 game - most explicitly and obviously the addition of Revolver characters to this week’s Legends and Killers Pack, but right you are that Twin Rocks is in fact based on the second level in Revolver."
Gamespot, 'Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Q&A' (October 18, 2010):
"The Undead Nightmare story takes place during the "home" period of the main game, while John is trying to rebuild his ranch but before the end of the game--a period that we imagined took several months. (If you've played the game to the end, please don't put spoilers in the comments.) You play Undead Nightmare as John, and it is an entirely stand-alone game that runs separately from Red Dead Redemption's main story and not part of any Red Dead Redemption canon, if such a thing exists. Red Dead Revolver is also its own universe, but the world of Red Dead Redemption was always meant to be a world in which the myths and realities of the American frontier collide. As for whether it's literally a nightmare or not--you are going to have to play the game and find out for yourself."
It was actually a decision made by Dan Houser back in 2009. They don't consider it a "direct sequel" because it didn't end up being one. And yes, Rockstar added a bunch of easter eggs to Red Dead Revolver's narrative in the form of tall tales so that newer players could get an idea of what the original concept was years before 2010. Red Dead Redemption fans know Red Dead Revolver because of the stories and the little nods. They are for us. Fun easter eggs, not meant to be taken as "huge connections linking both worlds."

I get that, red dead revolver is not 100% meant to be in the redemption universe, revolver is very cartoonish while both redemptions are very serious in tone and atmosphere, for me I like to believe it is in the same universe (even tho rockstar said it isn’t) but everything in revolver is very exaggerated. But for me it’s still fun to talk about, thanks for ur comment 👍🏼

I don’t believe revolver isn’t canon. Rockstar makes the most lamest excuses why something isn’t “canon”. I mean they want to say the reason they can’t be in the same universe is ”oh we can’t have 3d characters in hd universe” but then they preceded to have Claude from gta 3 in gta online as a parent. Then in gta online they mention when cj burned the truths weed. It’s pretty clear they happen in the same universe. Same goes with red dead. People want to say “oh revolver has over the top stuff and mythical stuff in it so it can’t be in the same universe.” But then they seem to forget the strange man in rdr1 who is clearly supernatural and the grim reaper. Then in rdr2 you have plenty of mythical stuff like the time traveler and ufos. And magnifico is just like professor perry, using magic to disappear and reappear. The only thing I’d say is over exaggerated is like pig josh constantly exploding yet he doesn’t die when it explodes. Like in real life I believe he just threw dynamite at his enemies. Then twin rocks is in all red dead games and you can find Reds house in all 3. And then not to mention they mention red and other revolver characters and events in both redemption games. But yeah I do wish that they’d just come on and get a grip and just full on admit they’re in the same universe when it clearly is. Those stuff isn’t Easter eggs. Easter egg would be if you went to a house and there was “it wasn’t about the money” on the wall. Not when people clearly mention knowing characters in that same game. Like in rdr1 someone says that his father was drinking buddies with Red. That clearly proves that revolver is canon. And having people mention remembering the events that took place in 1880 when revolver happened like the attack on Annie’s ranch. With everything on the map I’ve came to the conclusion that brimstone is just above armadillo on the map where we can’t get to on that mountain ridge. Writers or creators can’t just say one thing but prove themselves wrong in the actual content like a film or game. Like you can’t say as a writer that that one thing is a certain way then in the product do the complete opposite. Like Cory barlog saying old man kratos would wipe the floor with young kratos. He might be the creator but you can’t show the canon in game that he’s slow and doesn’t have magic or his weapons and stuff then seeing how when he was young he was OP as hell with strength and speed and weapons and magic. Yeah I know kratos holds back but still old kratos wouldn’t just straight up demolish young kratos. He would hard to beat. And that proves my point, just cause you create something and say one thing doesn’t make it right in the finished product. Proving my point. Just cause rockstar wants to use that bullshit excuse then precede to say they’re in two different universes but precede to add stuff in the universe that tied them together, they’re in same universe simple as that. I’m a writer and stuff too and if I did the same thing then the consumers and viewers and pointed out that it doesn’t make sense and what I said but what I wrote is completely the opposite then id understand what they’re saying and know they were right. I’m not gonna argue cause I don’t want to start an argument but this is my favorite game and it irks me when shit is misinformed about it plus I like your videos lol. Anyway Have a great day:)

Revovler is a "nickel novel" written by Theodore Levin ( he's the one writing the book on Calloway). These dime store novels are peppered thruout the story, being mentioned all the way thru the epilogue.
Uncle mentions he has "errands" to run both in Ch2. and the Epilogue. He's there to meet Levin and get his royalties. Thats how he stays in liquor without doing work. Uncle then can be seen getting kicked out the same saloon you met Levin in. He was there to meet Levin and then got drunk.
In St Denis, with John in the epilogue, he says the same thing about "errands" and checking the saloons. He says he's a "thinker"to John (someone that has to do with books.)
His cowboy gear can be seen in his trunk at Beecher's Hope, along with all the liquor an out of work cowboy can drink. Two Crows is his old home from Revolver. The names and details of people, place, and things have been embellished. Levin literally says all this at Brandywine Drop.
According to R*, Revolver" is in a different universe ". Yes, the sub-universe of the novels, which are also interconnected, and appears all over the story, npc houses, and the Levin mission all but spells it out for you.

Redemption 1&2 are set from the years 1887-1911, with Marston in the first, & Morgan of the 2nd, the year this original was set seems during the end of the American Civil War, in the year 18,65 or after - based on the old Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns I believe but ultimately set twenty years more or less before the timeline of the Redemption series, which means Red Harlow is related to Morgan, or Marston's Uncle or is Arthur Morgan like Vader, or something prob not - prob more like Clint Eastwood, fascinating regardless
