    I just bought that forge, modified my stand and lit the forge. Because of the scrap I used to make the stand, it must weigh ten times as yours. Very nice job. I really like the doors for it.

      Man, those are some kind words. I do think we'd all benefit from the "what can I make from scrap?" challenge more often. Force yourself to use your cut-offs, no matter how "useless" they may seem.

    That is one fancy piece of kit there Captn'! The artful execution of the sliding deadman and the pedal operated door are truly wonderful. Excellent work as always sir! As an aside - I would wonder if you would revisit some of your work thus far to see how some ideas have fared and what changes or improvements you've made since you've had a little bit of time in the shop now.

    @Alecsteele struggled with the lift gate, made his very complicated. I wonder if your idea would work for him (scalded up for his forge size).

      I've heard as much from other comments. There's still some tweaking to do as far as the pivot point ( I may need to extend to the front of the counterweight/handles) for easier lift, but it sure works well for what is a "simple" solution.

    As always amazing craftsmanship Brett, just wondering if it would’ve made it easier to move if the tank was closer to the axle?

      It would for sure. The aim here was not only building with what I had on hand, but overall, keeping the cart as "short" as possible. In an ideal world, I think the axle would be directly under the tank, but that would have raised the whole thing up quite a bit. As it stands now, what I lose in mobility, I gain in "once its in place, it doesn't want to roll/move"

    I thought about your lack of power issue with regards to a shop fan. What about a low cost solar panel setup? The panels are around $150-200 for about 100w version. Add the battery and some wiring... You could have your fan, led light, and maybe even enough juice to charge your ryobi batteries?

      Currently I run a smaller Goal Zero for charging batteries, running the forge fan, and general nonsense. It's getting us by for now.

      You're not wrong, although I wanted to keep the whole thing as "short" as possible, with larger wheels. Which means axle + wheels + tank height = one tall stand overall
